Your Eyes Tell was written for a movie wherein a woman goes blind and loses her parents in the same accident. The man who falls in love with her is deeply troubled, but they find solace and hope in each other. The references to sight and him "being her eyes" are tied metaphorically and literally. Such a beautiful song.

Like Crazy is a masterpiece! EVERYONE who listens to it says the same thing - being drawn in, mesmerized…a lot of it has to do with his angelic voice! Jimin has a voice that takes you somewhere peaceful and heavenly! Never be afraid to just let his songs sweep over you…BTS somgs in general! It might help you to listen through first and then pay attention to the lyrics the 2nd time around! I’ve heard a lot of reactors say that they find that helpful with the overall experience!

Yes, you were right about Like Crazy. Jimin said that because of the COVID shutdowns and subsequent cancellation of BTS’s tours, he lost himself in drinking and partying. He thought he was having a great time, but eventually realized he needed to get himself together.

Like Crazy is my Song of the Year!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it kinda gives me The Weeknd vibes. And there’s a fully English version too if you wanna check it out! Jimin wrote Like Crazy about how he felt during the pandemic and how he wanted to escape the negative emotions. BTS had a whole world tour planned before covid! Tickets were already sold and it was gonna be huge cause it was gonna be them saying goodbye to ARMY before they all enlisted and were supposed to come back this year for their 10th anniversary. But then covid happened and ruined all those plans and we were all forced to stay at home. It was a tough time for everybody

I always looks up lyrics to the songs I listen to. I can't get behind songs with crap messages so I've always had to know. With BTS songs I always look up lyrics, watch videos, and watch lyric videos either before or when I download songs. Fortunately, their stuff is so worthy of a re-listen that I see the lyrics several times and they kind of superimpose in my mind when I listen to the songs in the car or when I'm out and about.

JK wrote and composed Your Eyes Tell It compares a future without that special someone to a "world without color," but even if darkness is all they see, they'll still consider it "beautiful" because they're hopeful they'll see each other again. They're confident the darkness will only be temporary, and one day they'll see the light. It was then given as the OST for the film YOUR EYES TELL

Your eyes tell is a movie ost. If I remember well one of the characters is blind and that's probably why JK refers to colours so much.

The beauty of BTS is that they string multiple levels of meaning exists in a surprising number of their tracks. I think Don't Leave Me released during BTS's Love Yourself era is one of these. Here is a take on its deeper meaning. This song might well be how BTS is trying to help relieve a person who is immersed in mental hardships that are making that person pull into an inner world where a sense of abandonment and being unconnected makes it a struggle for that person to healthfully connect to her/his life. The boys are trying to establish a connection with this person in order to positively change something in the affected person’s sense of being. I think this song is an example of why many say that BTS often finds you when you need them most. So girlfriend, break up, ok. It can be that if that is what you want it to be. But as a 2018 work I like to believe the track is Love Yourself oriented and that BTS recognizes their music can have positive impact on their listeners.

@alipotter0613 Год назад
Yes, I listen and read the lyrics a few times and once you know what they are saying then you can just listen to the track. Also many BTS lyrics are not just about 'love' and 'girls'. They can be applied to all different relationships, family, friends, boyfriends or girlfriends or, very often, the BTS/ARMY relationship. Their earlier tracks mentioned girls more but as they have grown the songs are left open to interpretation. Very clever BTS!💜

Omg First love, I remember I cried the first time I heard that song, without even knowing what the lyrics are... These guys have a knack to transfer emotions through their music to the point where they break through the barriers of language. That being said, the lyrics are poetry, more often than not carying more than 2 meanings. Impactfull, well crafted and most of all real. And that is why they resonate with SO. MANY. PEOPLE

I always looked at "Don't Leave Me" as a song that BTS wrote to ARMY, but I can definitely see it talking about a girl. As much as BTS feels like we have carried them, cheered for them and went to war for them so to speak BTS have helped a lot of people during their tough times. BTS songs are fun and great to dance too, but their lyrics are deep and talk about loving yourself, injustice, depression, abuse, suicide and many topics many artist don't talk about these days. I have been a BTS ARMY for 5 years now and still don't know how to speak Korean, but can pick out a few words when I hear it. In the beginning I would watch the video of a song twice. Once to get the overall feel of the song, dancing, singing, visuals and so on because often times there is a lot going on. The second time I pay close attention to the Lyrics because of the deep meanings. Great Reaction and Be Blessed!

When I check out a BTS song or music video, I just run it through first, then I check out the lyrics second. I can get a lot of the meaning with music videos, but when I read the lyrics, it hits different all the time. BTS lyricism is on another level. First RM was a poet before becoming a rapper in his teens, then his talent grew over time. And SUGA is another one, then J-Hope followed suit. The three of them are the main songwriters of their music, but the vocal line is also involved in the songwriting, composition, and production, as well as their amazing production team. Once I read the lyrics a few times, I know the meaning and can listen to the song and know the meaning. There are also songs that I know the Korean lyrics when they sing them, mostly specific phrases. Some of my favorites that I do know of BTS songs are Butterfly, Spring Day, Dis-ease, Tomorrow, Magic Shop, IDOL, Mic Drop. There are more, but I love getting know more phrases and words over time. The first two songs you listened to were some of their Japanese songs. and our Main vocalist Jungkook wrote the song. You were right on the meaning of Like Crazy, and Jimin wrote his album as a chronological expression of his feelings and thoughts during the pandemic. He was definitely deflecting from reality in the song, and the mud in the video was the reality creeping in. He couldn't escape it, even though that is all he wanted to do was escape. Jimin did a short interview on Jimmy Fallon and he performed the English version of the song with choreography. You might enjoy that one. I'll link them for you. Also, Jungkook is releasing a song called Seven on July 14, 2023, so don't miss that one. Also, if you have a chance, Your Eyes Tell is a really great song live. You might want to check that out as well. There are performances with Eng. subs, you just have to look for them. 'Enjoy BTS More' is a RU-vid ARMY that does subtitles for their videos that don't have subs. You might find it there. If it’s for one of the groups I follow: when I first hear a song I listen to it and read the lyrics at the same time. But if there’s a music video then I watch the video without captions first to get the vibes and not miss out on any visuals, then go back and watch it with captions to get the story. But I also listen to kpop playlists to find new songs and I’m not really focused on lyrics then. Sometimes I look up the lyrics after. Most songs have enough English lines that I’ll be able to understand the theme of the song. For the most part I just remember the theme of the song/lyrics when I’m casually listening. But sometimes I like to read the lyrics again or practice singing the chorus so those songs I know better. And the more you listen to kpop the more words you pick up and can recognize in other songs which helps in remembering what they’re about.

Well when an album is released, we don’t have the lyrics available yet. Only lyrics are available to us if the song happens to be the main track and uploaded to RU-vid. So everyone immediately jumps to iTunes, Spotify, etc to listen to the album. There are fans that are able to translate the lyrics from Korean to English in a few hours, so until then it’s just based on how the song sounds. Which that’s what I do, I judge music based on how they sound but clearly BTS has messages in their lyrics 95% of the time in all their songs which is highly important to check out. Even RM has said that he wants us to pay attention to the lyrics if you can.

Your eyes tell is a beautiful love story. A young man meets a blind young lady they developed a friendship that blossomed into love. The man learns he is the reason for her blindness because during his time when he was a boxer he worked as a inforcer with a mob boss and would beat up those late in payments. During one of his jobs the man sets himself on fire and jumps out of the window. The young lady was younger and with her parents they wrecked the car parents die and she is left blind. When he. Learns this he is shocked and wants to pay for her surgery and the way he gets the money is through fighting in a illegal fight which he was supposed to lose but he wins the prize money but the boss is upset and attacks him leaving for dead. He ends up in the rehabilitation center and the young lady works as a massage therapist he recognizes her but she doesn’t because she hasn’t seen his face. They do end up together. 😊

5:39 when it comes to songs without visuals, I listen to the song for the vibe first. Then on my second listen, I read the lyrics. For MVs, I'm vibing & checking out the details of the visuals about 1 or 2x before I get into the lyrics. The reason why sometimes I watch the visuals twice is because most K-Pop videos are very detailed with visuals, storytelling & dancing and it's distracting to me as an English speaker trying to vibe, watch & read the first time. Also after listening to a song/watching an mv, I look to see if that song has choreography so I can see how they would perform it on stage before I watch a live performance of the song. Sometimes broadcast media companies cut beautiful & technical details of live performances to get a more focused shot of the member or the audience.

Your Eyes Tell is one f my favorites from them (I have about 30 favorites though). You asked a question earlier in this video and my answer is that the beat, and the flow of their singing is what grabs me first, even though I only speak English. I heard a snippet of Don't Leave Me on a video short and I was like, what is this song and who sings this from the beat and the chorus alone. I've been listening to K-Pop for around five years now and I prefer to hear the songs sung in their native language. The Korean language and how the words are enunciated sounds so good and I don't think they'd sound the same done in English ( for example Mic Drop, Baepsae, DNA, Idol, Dope, DDAENG etc.. IMO). With songs like Baepsae and DDAENG we don't use the sayings like "crow tit" or "frog in a well", so it wouldn't translate well and we'd miss the concept they were trying to convey. I do turn on subtitles and google words to get definitions of words or phrases in K-Pop songs. I only know a few words and phrases in Korean from watching K-Dramas and being stationed there for two years when I was in the Army. When I was there in the early 2000's K-Pop was not a thing.

Honestly I don’t listen to K-Pop. I only listen to BTS. Why? From the beginning in 2015 when I discovered their music and performances they were different. The musicality-beautiful to listen to made me feel emotions. Then the lyricism made me understand why I was emotional. Then learning about them as a group and as individuals made me a lifetime fan. I’m not going anywhere but staying close to them. I feel safe I can run to them in the Magic Shop. Their songs are not about romantic love but can be about what the listener wants and needs. It can be about loss of a loved one and memories of that person.

As for the music...it depends. If there is an official MV, I watch it first without captions, then a second time with. If the song doesn't have an MV, then I'll do the lyric video, but I usually listen the first time, without watching the lyrics, then read the lyrics on the second run-though. There were a few I HAD to know what they were saying by the time I got 1/4-1/2 of the way through and started it over. So...I guess, generally speaking...I go by the tone in "his" (solo)/their (group) voices the first time, along with the beat/s of the song, to try to get a feel for it...plus - for me - it's sometimes fun to see if I can correctly guess what the song is about before I read the lyrics. So far, I'm fairly accurate. Then, by the third or 4th listen, I'm usually singing along to at least some bits and pieces (not just the English parts, either). However, because so many of us have fallen for these men, there are millions of us who are also now trying to learn Korean. I'm fairly new to the language (I know some basic words and key phrases, thanks to their songs, and I do know most of the alphabet now - some vowels still confuse me), but my goal is that by the time the last one returns from service, I'll be able to watch them when they do a Live or read one of their posts on social media and be able to get the..."basics"...of what they're saying/what I'm reading, even if I don't get it "word for word" (so to speak, anyway, Hangul and English don't mix well, so there really is no such thing as a true word for word translation).

Hi! Yes, I read the lyrics as well as 'just' listening to the songs. BTS lyrics are not to be overlooked! It doesn't seem too strange when you consider MUCH of the world is non-English speaking and consumes a lot of English music (Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Drake, etc). It seemed weird to me until that was pointed out to me. We just aren't used to doing it because most 'popular' music in the States is already in English. Music is truly universal, I've learned. The USA/West does not have the monopoly on good music. I'm afraid of how much is overlooked due to the language barrier English speakers have (myself included!) Many ARMY do learn to speak and read Korean, hence the award they were given in the intro documentary that talked about them expanding the culture and language. Thanks for listening!
