When I first heard it, I thought it's not better than "Dope" or "Fire" but when you think about the lyrics and watch the MV you realise this song is the pure spirit of BTS, its an anthem : "All the underdogs in the world ... if you cant run, walk, if you cant walk crawl "- these lyrics are really emblematic of their career. They were underdogs, hardly anybody in Korea paid attention to them for years, plus i always saw people hating on their visuals calling them ugly (dont have face of an idol), saying their music is too aggressive or rowdy, or saying they're from a "no-name company"-- They even got blacklisted by the government for trying to speak out about the Sewol tragedy, they overcame all those obstacles with their art and talent, even the government couldnt stop them! A lot of people never saw them as real competition to groups from major companies like SM or YG and yet WINGS was the biggest selling album of 2016 and BTS are breaking records all over the world. They clawed and scraped their way to where they are in K-pop now, it may of taken ages but they showed you can be an outsider/underdog and still win- The US had Trump, UK had Brexit and K-Pop had BTS (lol) 🤣. Those shots of them running with all the crowd and dancing through the snow with them, i think it represents army fandom supporting them and encouraging them through it all defending them from all the haters and naysayers. This song is definitely addressed to their haters as well as their fans; just try and silence them, you may succeed one day, but that day is not today!

Honestly BTS never disappoints with their music. Not only are their title tracks always good, their B-sides are even better. I was worried that the release of 'I need u' would be a turn for the worse as they would be releasing more public-friendly songs however I am glad that they've found a formula which allows their music to be somewhat public-friendly but still quintessentially BTS. Not today is a great track and great representation of not only their journey so far but also of their ability to still stay true to themselves amongst all this fame and success. B-Free, eat shit 😂😂 I am petty, i know 😩

It's really nice to see people from their own society reacting to their songs. I've been teaching Koreans for almost a year and I haven't encountered someone who likes or even someone who listens to their 'voices'. It's really nice to know there are people like you. And although, I know some from social medias, who likes BTS, it's still rare to see men liking them. I really wanted to know how Koreans perceive their songs. Because if there are people who should appreciate their music and lyrics, it must be definitely people who're from the same society who shares something in common; like same pressures, values and 'fights'. ^^

I've always liked it when David always comments that BTS reminds him of Big Bang. Bc tbh, they're going there. BTS is becoming more than just a kpop idol. It's so refreshing.This is why they're on the top rn. Eventually, the Korean public will acknowledge and respect them just like Big Bang.
