So, most ARMYs assume this is a relationship break up song when we first heard it. Then it was revealed that it about when BTS were struggling emotionally and were considering disbanding. Lots of ARMYs found themselves in tears with that reframing. There is a clip somewhere of Suga explaining how he started writing this, played it for all the BTS members and they all cried together. Luckily, they were able to get their heads back on track and came back stronger than ever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

They were about to disband in 2018.. Then Suga started writing this song.. And he played it for members.. After listening to this they all cried together... It's kinda stopped it... It was so sad.. We didn't know about it back then.. Then we got to know about that.. I cried so much.. I just can't think of it.. Their disbandment.. Anyways it didn't happened.. Here we are still together... BTS and Army... Waiting for their reunion in 2025.. After their military.. It's been 10 years.. Decade to Forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I see so many others saying something along these lines, but have to say it too. jhope set fire to the stage🔥🔥🔥 During his verse that ends the song, along with the emotion written all over his face at the very end....still gives me goosebumbs!!😯🥺 And trust me, I have seen this performance video many, many times. It is one of my favorites. BTS rapline is incredible!! They are all absolutely amazing💜💜💜

Those emotions can not be expressed by the rap line today. It was written as a screen shot of their struggle around that period. At the verge of breaking up due to exhaustion, and stress due to the toxic kpop industry culture. This is BTS at their best. But at their most anguished and angry. Which is not sustainable. They are at their best because they are at their most expressive of themselves. Anger is not a necessary element. I hope to see them reaching more peaks in happier times for their next chapter. This song actually came about in 2018 after BTS thought about disbanding so they wrote this song to convey the feelings of tear, tearing apart from each other,fear, fear of the unknown and what’s next for them, and tear, tear sorrow for parting. I’ve seen this performed several times in Chicago and it was absolutely fabulous. It was the last song of the show and they were all great but J-Hope just took our breath away at the end, and to be honest, we cried in this song at the end every time it was so moving and so fabulous and such a wonderful memory. RM says "Tear"- as in to cry💧💧 Suga says "Tear"- as into tear something apart, or rip for another example jhope says "Fear"- as in his fear of saying goodbye, his fear of them tearing apart, it is all something that causes fear (but personally I think it may extend to the fear of the unknown after they aren't together anymore, just a thought though. Thought I might have seen that described as part of the meaning at one time, so just included it as a possibility) I of course can not know that this is all 💯 correct, but this is what I have come to learn that it means fromany different sources. So just trying to help give some insight.
