This is what SUGA said about this song: "Last year, when I gave my New Year's greetings to the fans I told them that dreams are not necessary. That being happy was enough. That's how the song was born. The world never teaches you how to dream, but it always promotes competition. I'd like many of those who are tired from the competition to listen to this song"
That message from Suga, which I first heard in the Intro to 7 members video, is one of the most comforting things I have ever heard. There’s always this expectation that you must have a grand dream or a big goal, but being happy really is the ultimate goal.
I think the whole message of BTS songs about the concept of "dream" is: If you don't have a dream, it's ok. If you have a dream, fight for it. If you decide it's not worth fighting for, it's also ok.
I understand the frustration. I feel the same when I tell my friends I'm ARMY. They look at me as if I'm turning into a crazy lady. What? You're 56 years old! Why? Why are you into a boy band!? I try to explain but it's no use. If they only would give them an opportunity and hear songs like this.
Omg same. I’m mid 40s and my girlfriends think it’s some midlife crisis (I’ve been passionate about new music my whole life and only when I’ve been overwhelmed by life did I stop for a while seeking out new music) they smile and nod but don’t get it/won’t give it a chance. Sigh.
@@sunn3654 kpop fans always have to defend why we like the genere. Never other generes that people like. It sucks. Kpop fans get called crazy teen girls. When you look at rock concerts those people get pumped to see their favorite bands. It is taboo to like kpop it seems like.
I ditto that! It's frustrating so I don't bother to "justify" why I love them. I figured why do I need to? They're the ones that are missing out not me. I'm going to enjoy what I enjoy and not be bothered by people's condescending reactions and remarks.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention... this song is what actually made me Army. For me the message of the song is simple: You don't need to have a grandiose dream/goal in life, just living each day is already enough. You know how sometimes (especially us folks living with anxiety and depression) our brains keeps telling us that we are not enough, not doing enough because we haven't achieved this or that and others are moving forward and "were just stuck", this song is basically saying that's OK too, a dream can be simply living to the next day and taking pleasure in the little things because we deserve a life. Yeah... this song got me out of one of the biggest slumps of my life, I had been struggling to get out of that whole for a few years until I found BTS in 2019, obviously I'm still dealing with anxiety and depression, but this song really became a hope and the motto I live by today that really keeps me going when my brain tells me that I want to give up on life. BTS songs are just that powerful.
BTS know each other's unique tones and strengths so well. I always trust their decisions regarding who they have sing any given part. In my opinion, that is also a part of their artistry. Each of their seven voices are instruments and they collectively decide how to arrange them in each song. They definitely nailed it in Paradise. This song is so underrated..........by BTS themselves, lol. ARMY has an ongoing joke that BTS had forgotten this song exists although in a recent fan poll it was the #3 most desired song for a live performance.
When you mention about suga on D2 about having a dream, fun fact that paradise idea was from suga end year speech when he said it's ok to not has a dream but just live happily.
I really really like that you included RM’s vlive. He provides insight into BTS’ music - and you get to hear it directly. (It could be any of the member’s discussion; however RM usually does the album breakdown).
Loved your reaction. I think when RM was talking about it being sad he wasn't talking about sound he was actually talking abt idea of the song. I mean it is a harsh reality that sometimes people just don't accept us or find us worthless when we don't have a big dream. We are kind of forced into dreaming abt what our parents or society wants from us. It happens more in Asia and I think everywhere. For some people this song can be like a sad idea or dream.
I think every Army loved this song. It's in my top 5 on any giving day. RnB masterpiece. Love, love this song it's sooo powerful. Once again why I think LY Tear is their best album.
this song always makes me cry when i read the lyrics too, like… i just relate to the lyrics so much! I don’t really have a dream, i just have like a vague direction of where i want to go and i feel like everyone around me has a dream or is on track to go somewhere and i’m not, so it’s so very comforting to hear the line “it’s okay to stop/pause, there’s no need to run without knowing the reason” it just always gets me and the “It’s okay not to have a dream, as long as there are your moments to briefly feel happiness” afterwards is so perfect too 😭❤️
Can you please react to Jungkook the main vocalist of bts by ida s, it's really good video because it's not showing just is best vocals but his hard work too. And all the harmonizing and adlibs in the song is by Jungkook
Really enjoyed your commentary. While somewhat frenzied, the emotional output was well placed. Thanks for sharing. I felt this way when I first heard the song. I have many discussions about enjoying the moment even if it is small. Your life can be a grand adventure or a meandering collection of nows.
One of the many things I love about this song is that you can hear Jimin singing in quotation marks! Like, the other members generally use their more usual tones/ways of singing/rapping But as Jimin is doing the majority of the section where it's like society's response to the concept of not having a dream - the "but you need to do this, you need to do that, you need to, you need to" You can hear him put a particular stress/intonation into his voice to show him quoting it! Thank you for reacting to this it is probably my favourite BTS song, just because of how much it has helped me 💜 I was on a path that was leading me in a direction that I didn't want to go, as it was just going to make me miserable, even if others might have viewed me as 'successful' But this song helped me to step off that path to try to find a new one that I felt comfortable and happy with, rather than trying to become someone other people wanted me to be 💜
You should check out JK singing Paradise in his birthday live stream (the only performance we have of Paradise so far T-T) Bonus - Jungkook not knowing what Paradise is and being confused why people are spamming it in the live chat (lately there’s been a whole movement to give Paradise the appreciation it deserves and have Bangtan perform it): ru-vid.comNX2R8GPUVDw?feature=share
Because he knew the Korean title... Some twitter armys discovered this the first time he ignored it during his live but it got lost in the feed somehow and not many people saw their tweet. And so on his bday live of course most people again suggested the English title and everybody realised what we did wrong :)
SUGA's second self-produced mixtape D-2 surpassed 400 MILLION streams on Spotify today🔥 It is the first and only album by a K-soloist to surpass this milestone and it remains as the most streamed album by a Korean solo artist!
Yassss I agree! Paradise really saved me - as a 30+ yr old I've never managed to have a dream and BTS was the first one to tell me that I was ok and there was no need for me to feel like I'm somehow lesser of a person just because I don't have any grand desires. Breathing is paradise in itself - especially if you ever remember what a blocked nose feels like at night!
Jimin’s vocal is so soothing, so beautiful like sound from the heaven. Jimin’s voice is Angel’s sound. I love to listen to Jimin’s vocal everyday, so healing and comforting for my soul. Please can you react more Jimin’s live solo performances next time. I’m really happy to look forward to watch your reactions to Jimin. Thanks so much. I will put links for you in my reply
Paradise it’s too one of my favorite BTS songs, if I’m being honest I think is in the top 3. Loved the reaction as usual thank you for sharing your thoughts
MNEK is friends with another reactor and has appeared in their videos. I think he did a video talking about his work on this song. I’ll try to find it.
Yes this song is probably one of Most favourite BTS b-side for lots fans,Me also music wise it was so good and lyrics wise it was so retable about beautiful sad reality .. personally this song is always on my playlist listen to it a lots when I m tired .. frustrated by what is going on in my life and society around me -you mentioned how they can have different approach of topic ,yes l noticed this lots and l love it . It allow more peoples who think differently to be retable ..it also give opportunity to many interpretation of message -but by the way suga in 2018 iv talked also about paradise and they come up with idea after meeting with some fans in they told them it ok if they didn't have specific dream most important is that you are happy ..he said"the world we live always promote so much competition but they don't teach us how to dream ..so I hope this song can bring comfort little bit to all those who are tired of hardship and competition while they try to achieve something"...+ In some 2021 suga also said"Last year, all the members struggled with not being able to perform. I got a lot of real comfort from our songs ‘Answer: Love Myself’ and ‘Paradise,I listened to them from the perspective of a listener and realized how comforting they were.” in fact I feel that also with Thier growth mature some of thr povs and way to look thing can change bit depending on what they had experience ...for example I don't know if you heard. "BTS tomorrow"from 2014. very nice song lyrics wise that also talk about dream it has different approach from this one ..where they said "chase like dream like breaker. Never stop don let your tomorrow get away. " But in 2018"they wanted to clear that no need to have big goals or dreams. Or at least make sure to not forget yourself in process you can take break . for some just simple things can make them happy and there are convinced with there life
This is my favorite BTS song, love when people finally listen to it and enjoy... With Tomorrow and First love - my top 3. I feel that this songs tell you to stop and think what is important to you, if it is good to run after something, maybe that moment now and here is enough.
Had to stop watching to write to you,.. 1. We’re begging BTS to perform Paradise (Louder Than Bombs, Heartbeat, and Sea) during their just announced online concert Oct 24th! So your timing is on point! Yaaah! 2. Yoongi has often spoken of dreams and how its ok not to have dreams too! (More often a few years ago, a few times recently) 2a. Yoongi is also credited with music and lyrics for Paradise. 3. Love that you included this clip of “sexy brained” Namjoonie talking to us... like we’re his close friends! 4. Aaah, gonna finish watching now... tysm for reacting to Paradise! :) #Peace
entiendo tu enojo amigo que no valoren el gran talento del kpop, pero gracias a tu aporte ya hay muchisimas personas que lo aprecian y digan lo que digan los demas esto es musica para el alma.
I have to say that I agree with many others who say that BTS is not really K-pop. I feel that they have a genre of their own or at the very least their music is so diverse that it fits into many genres. Their style really can’t be categorized as one genre or another. I also think that the quality of their songs, both musically and lyrically, is far above most of the other K-pop groups (how many other groups can you imagine bringing us music and videos the likes of “Black Swan”). If your friends checked out K-pop and listened to music of some other groups it is a bit more understandable as to why they’re bewildered by your (and my) fascination with and devotion to K-pop. Knowing this is why loyal Army members are so willing to come to the defense of these seven amazingly talented, hard working guys. Guess we’ll just have to continue listening and appreciating their music all alone with the other millions of Army members!
Thank you. I have lived a lot of my life content. I have always wondered what was wrong with me. I was raised in the military with the frequent moves. The moves would shred everything but my family. Then, I would find ways to build contentment again. I was lucky in my family and their ways to be content and funny under insane conditions. I am totally blocked from most any mention of BTS. I get what you are saying, completely. Here is this incredible music and no one will even listen. Thank heavens for RU-vid. I can find the music and other people willing to hear and comment on this incredible stuff. I have sung and played the piano most of my life. The rhythms occasionally leave me with my mouth hanging open, like now.
That's so funny bc in the fandom we joke bts forgot about Paradise bc they never performed it and when we recommend the song for some events, they don't aknowledge it at all haha, recently an interviewer even said to them their favorite song was Paradise and they said nothing. But finally we know why, recently JK did a live where he sang different songs and then he read a request "can you sing Paradise" and he asked "Paradise ? we have a song like that?" LMAO but then he was like "is it [korean title of Paradise] lmaooo, all this time they didn't know what song was Paradise bc we used the english title and not the original title lmao... I imagine them back to that interview : "ah he liked a song called Paradise, why he saying he like a Coldplay song to us" lmaoo
and when army ask for Jk to sing this song in vlive while he was singing for requests he said "We have a song called paradise?" ahahahha :D that hurt me
The everyday miracles! It doesn't get better than appreciating those things that make the tempo of your everyday life. It's good to have a dream, but you don't need one to make your life happy.
Please can you react to big mama in killing voice ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OsRogAzmsF8.html you will know the real kpop they're kind of first generation of kpop they are legendary vocal divas in Korea their way in singing given me goosebumps and made me speechless they look like a professional gospel group i hope you will like them
@@tinaaikaa77 Omg yes! Army needs a louder than bombs live performance and Heartbeat but they probably wont do heartbeat since its off of BTS world but who knows 🤷
It's funny that you called MNEK "M-neck" b/c he points out people calling him that in one of his songs. It is M.N.E.K and his songs are really good. He also wrote Twice's More and More.
It's my fave too!!! They've never performed this live until recently on Jungkook's birthday last sept 1. It's funny because he didn't recognize the song at first and asked if they had a song called paradise. Apparently, on the album, it says Nagwon (in Korean Characters ofc) which is why they probably thought no one wanted the song despite the hundreds and thousands of requests for Paradise live lolol we're hoping they perform it now in their upcoming online concert on Oct 24 aghhh!!!!!
we are egging for them to perform live "Paradise" and Louder Than Bomb" for the online concert coming in October. So cross our fingers we get at least one.... please 🙏
Are you a Buffy fan? Oh my heart! You talk of anticipation for small moments of happiness. These small moments of happiness aren’t meaningless. They have weight in our lives which, at this time, is immense. We’ve been squeezed by covid to accept what seemed inconceivable before. So we are left with these small moments when our souls find a moment of bliss. That can’t be discounted because they keep us going. Sometimes we live our lives in the moment and there’s nothing wrong with that. We can dream, and anticipate our future but we can’t discount those sweet moments when we are happy.
Insider joke: The boys hate this song cos they’ve never performed it on stage! We’ve been clamouring for it. So in his recent VLive, it became evident that Jungkook did not recall Paradise, simply because he didn’t relate to its English title! 😥
I feel the same way about traveling, I would love to do it but I think my dream is to be happy about simple stuff, not necessarily achieve something or go somewhere. Even those little things like sleeping well, enjoying food and having fun are not always easy to do, sometimes they take a lot of work.
I'd be interested in knowing whether this was a hard song to sing. It seems like it would be. I was a musician and I know this would be a tough one to play because of the odd rhythms, but I can't sing at all, so I have no idea on the vocals. Love love love this reaction. Thank you!
They’ve all done lines in the chorus multiple times throughout their discography. Dimple is another one that comes to mind immediately and also Louder Than Bombs which is one of their best imo.
