@@SandSlash242 I already fixed it, just trying to get the go-ahead to reupload. Edit: no reupload, but hope it’s not too distracting! Next week I’ll triple check 🫡
It happens! honestly though it's better to not play the track over the dance practice, it's nice to hear the synchronised jumps and feet movements, and sometimes the laughs and encouragements in some practices, we like it 😉
OMG me too! I've been watching Blind Wave for years and I started listening to BTS a couple of years ago. They're really underrated due to prejudice I guess. Great dancers, great rappers & vocalists! Funny, humble, authentic.
Spring Day the MV honors the victims of a horrible, unjust tragedy that killed nearly 300 school kids, a ferry disaster, but it ends in hope. You will see rushing waves and the bow of a ship in the dance formations. Omelas is from a sharp social commentary fantasy story by Ursula K Le Guin.
This comment should be pinned. It's the most accepted explanation out there. Also, it's super meaningful and showcases how insightful and aware of these issues they are.
I hope they pin this comment. And i would love to see a reaction to the “spring day mv explained” as well, the love for the song will grow that much more.
Thank you for explaining it so concisely! It's such a deep dive to get all aspects of this music, and to catch all the symbolism in it, but that is a fantastic way to explain it short hand!! 💜
absolutely no disrespect to other groups (i listen to them), but bts is just the ultimate group in my opinion. rich lyrics, deep stories to their music videos, and 7 guys who are beyond passionate and authentic about their craft. so excited!!
There's actually nothing funny about that it's not a joke there is a reason why it has never left the charts 300 kids died and not to mention the the very few crew members the refused to leave them.
@@linseyv0613 the joke is the name ARMY give the song, "The Queen", we know it's a hard topic. Don't take this comment to seriously when it wasn't intended.
@@linseyv0613 I’m definitely not joking about the meaning of the song. I’m very aware that it’s about the Seoul Ferry tragedy. I’m talking about the very common meme of the song never leaving the charts. You need to get better at reading comprehension, me thinks 😐
I wish you also reacted to the explanation for this MV. It's much more painful. Eric will surely need his stress ball once he watched the Italian explanation. 😀
I hope they watch the other explanation that is more MV focused. Italian Army has a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with BTS. Idk why people always recommend that one
I just wrote the same. I watched Blind Wave when they were reacting to GoT and couldn’t get enough. I loved watching Eric watching that with Calvin. I also miss their old cooking videos. Lol
Spring Day is iconic... Whenever BTS performs Spring Day I always remember this praise from a music critic, "an intelligent, compelling & elegantly restrained study of loss and longing'. Embodying nostalgia & sorrow, it opened a new chapter in BTS' aesthetics and lyricism and attracted fans across generational boundaries". Spring Day will always be the song that perfectly encapsulate what type of musicians they are, a brilliant track that'll always be timeless-ly relevant. Also, this song has nothing to do with them going to military. Speaking about the concept and meaning behind "Spring Day", RM stated that he wrote the lyrics when thinking of his middle and high-school mates, from whom he hadn't heard in a long time. "Spring Day" has also been connected to the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster in South Korea, which resulted in the loss of over 300 lives, mostly high school students. The song captures themes of longing, loss, and the passage of time, reflecting on the pain of separation and the hope for reunion. It's a very loved and special song!
I wish I could like your comment more than once! This is the song that made me realize how special BTS is and sent me on the trajectory of becoming a fan and eventually ARMY.
Okay. First of all, member introduction. 1. RM and Suga were both underground rappers before they joined Bighit in 2010. They focus on different stuff in the group. RM more on songwriting and Suga on producing. They both can do it all but they prefer this. 2. J-Hope was also a hip hop dancer in his hometown in a crew called ‘Nueron’. He also joined Bighit in 2010 and started learning rapping, songwriting and producing from RM, Suga and in house BtS producers (Pdogg, slow Rabbit etc.) 3. Jin is a great singer hailed as the ‘Silver voice’ by critics. He’s a belter and yes he is worldwide handsome 😊 4. Jungkook was only 13 when he joined Bighit in 2011. He was trained in singing, rapping, dancing from then on. He’s got really stable and skilled vocals. 5. V is a baritone however he can go really high that’s why he has the widest range. He likes jazz, neo soul etc. he’s a quirky old loveable soul. 6. Jimins was recruited for his dancing skills. He also does great acrobatics. His voice is very unique for a male singer. 7. So essentially the rapline has the most experience in writing and producing music however they have always encouraged (along with their company) the vocal line to practice songwriting, composing and producing. Which is why today all of them have done everything. 8. They started assembling the group in 2010, most of vocal line joined in 2011. After 2-3 years of training they debuted on June 13 2013. These were underdogs, they came from a small company with miniscule budget. They were called as ‘monster rookies’ their debut year. That’s how good they were. 9. BTS has been on hiatus since 2023 for their military service, however they’ve used this time to release solo albums for the first time since they all went in on different times. 10. BTS are known in the industry for a few things. Having great self written lyrics, having great choreography, live vocals always, being goofballs and being as close as brothers. They’re also known as very humble, down to earth, funny, chaotic and ultimate professionals. I hope you enjoy them! There’s a reason they’re the biggest in the world.
*J-Hope's crew is called Neuron like his last song with an MV I'm told that Suga said Jin has the widdest range on Suchwita? I still have not watched the episode 😞 (belting only means that it is loud and you can hear it far... it can actually hide bad singing - which Jin does not) Most of the members learned multiple skills - that is what Idol training is about. The label was ca. 7,5 million USD in debt when they debuted BTS. They have archived a lot. Most recently they are the first group ever to reach 40 Billion streams on Spotify over all credits. Apobangpo!
@@ruthfischer7615TY for making these corrections, I was abt to do them myself, and yes Suga did say Jin has the widest vocal range of bts, tae solos keep spreading this lie and I can tell this person “helping them” is a multi who’s prob a diet solo for the maknae line and has done a lot more harm than good when it comes to introducing BTS to new ppl….I hope they get an actual ARMY to re-do things
@@secretyidentity2833 To be fair, Jin rarely makes use of his range because Tae is a baritone and Jimin's forte is high notes. They also often give high notes to Jungkook as he is the main vocalist. They usually give high notes to Jin when they need powerful high notes along with Jimin (which is rare enough) and they rarely go low enough for Jin's lower register to be used along with Tae's. So Jin does have the widest range but a lot of ARMYs spread that Tae has the widest range - not only V's solos - only because they base what they say on what they hear the most instead of doing research for some reason
@@secretyidentity2833 It's only a lie when you know the truth and delibertly chose not to tell it/say something different. That Taehyung has a wide range is even in Taylor Mari's intro - it is true after all - just not the widdest: because till Yoongi corrected that assumption coming from Tae being a Bariton - which you can hear - everyone believed it. Mind you he may have talked about comfortable range more. Tae is definetly not comfortable in the hight he used for Stigma. It is simlar when Jin "solos" emphesis how Jin could neither sing nor dance when he signed as a trainee in 2011. Because while it is true this is the essence of how Idol groups work and he was not the only one. Is it deliberate? I don't think so. It's just what they hear/read and repeat it even as it leads to false assumptions.
They started enlisting in 2022 not 2017 😂 Spring day is about missing someone lost. it had some elements related to a tragedy in korea where children died im a ferry
Hi guys - Army didn't latch on to this song when BTS went into the military. It has always been a favourite but for me and a lot of other Army it became especially so during the pandemic. I'm not sure you actually took in the words of the song which are very meaningful and sad. The song was written about missing a friend but the MV relates to a tragic ferry accident in Korea which killed hundreds of students on a school trip (Jin confirmed in an interview that it was about a sad event). It would pay you to listen to one of the explanations (I recommend the one by Bulllet Proof Vibes which explains the meaning behind the scenes in the MV such as the pile of clothes, the cake and Jin at the bottom of the staircase. There is another explanation by Italian Army but that goes into more detail about the actual tragedy). 💜💜💜💜
This is so cool! The song spring day was written about missing old friends who they (specifically RM and Suga) had lost contact with. The music video was to commemorate a national tragedy when hundreds of students died in a ferry disaster 3 years earlier. (The shoes on the tree and the pile of clothes both symbolise death). But the song has gained more meanings since - during covid lockdown, BTS sang it a lot to tell ARMY how much they missed us, etc. I hope you listen to more over the next few months, and get to know them more! They’re the top for a many deserved reasons.
Spring Day has never left the chart in Korea. It’s been 7 years since the song was released and that you are reacting to multiple BTS songs is great. Spring Day mv is dedicated to 300* people who drown in a ferry accident needlessly because of greed and corruption in the government that goes all the way to the president of Korea at that time. 250 people who drowned were high school students. The shoes hanging on the tree symbolizing death of a loved one and memorializing the person in many countries and cultures. I’m kind of surprised that you don’t know that as I’ve seen it so much in the US. If you want to know more about the this mv there are multiple explanation videos about it. My favorite is the one by an Italian army. It worth checking it out and I can assure you armies will watch it. BTS took a risk of being black listed by the government with the mv.
Theres so many guides and theroy videos and detailed videos about each MV out there. One of the best guides out there is A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7. You can watch this on your own or do a reactions to it. There's also a fanmade docuseries called The Rise of Bangtan that is also great to watch if you want to see what they went through before their debut back in 2013 to 2018. The original creator for Rise of Bangtan had to stop after chapter 21 for personal reason and I believe she got a job somewhere. You can watch it on your free time or do a reaction.

this song is about loss and missing friends. there are explanation videos out there. it can be interpreted as a promise too. I am so excited about bts being in your schedule, they're my favorite group of all time. I also loved the new addition to the table, she's lovely. kudos
i still feel bad for those who watch this MV without being informed of its meaning, reacting only on the lyrics of the song. they are two different meanings, the MV is a tribute to the victims of the ferry accident, a tribute hidden in order not to be blacklisted by the government of the time. It's hard for you to start your journey with BTS with this song, i hope the next choices will be easier for you to understand. 💜
I was just thinking the same thing. It's a little difficult to watch the smiles and laughter through this song when you know what it means. I hope they'll get to that. Another thing I was thinking about... they said they should have overlaid the music to the dance practice. I completely disagree. The great thing about the BTS dance practices is that you get the rough cut. You hear the heavy breathing and the shoe squeaks on the floor. That's what makes it real.
@@HailToTheMeep 🤣 you left a similar comment on this chat: "these won't be the videos I would introduce people with" ... maybe yours was better written because english is not my native language but mine was just my feeling, no malice towards this channel. And no bad feeling for you either !
I kinda agree with you they could have researched a bit they were just laughing off when the song is about 200 students getting killed this was a pathetic reaction@@hd7704
If you truly want to appreciate BTS, please watch the explanation video for Spring Day. Most BTS music videos have so many layers and things you will never catch without understanding the cultural references, the Korean language wordplay or just the artistic parts such as the clothes pile, the train, the shoes in the tree or the bee on the jacket reference.
Also to add why RM is the leader, RM is the main lyricist, he's an established underground rapper before BTS and his incredible talent was why the CEO chose him and built the team around him. He has 148 IQ and has given speeches in UN & White House. And agree with most of the comments, I hope you watch the meaning behind this video too.
@@almostheavenwestvirginia TY! That’s what I’m saying, kpopies only care abt visuals, not a single comment abt the actual meaning and impact of the song or how it written, the donation BTS made…aaahh
Long time viewer (and ARMY), glad to see you guys checking BTS out. Gotta say I'm confused about the part of Spring Day being about missing Bangtan cause they are in the military tho? The sentiment might be there since at its core it's a song about missing friends, but I would have loved it if you guys checked the deeper meaning specifically of the MV and it's relation to the Sewol tragedy, which I think plays into why this song is so dear not only for ARMYs. At one point you guys said that you couldn't relate to the song since you don't really know BTS like that and I think going into it with that idea kinda set you guys to not relate to it that much. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the songs you'll check, would be cool if they are not only the super popular singles tho, which I know might not happen lol Some lives from their actual concerts would be amazing too ;) (Also, pls... some better info about the members ^_^U)
@@DanielleMDM93 I mean yeah I understand that they could have gotten it wrong cause of that, but I just wished if they are going to get background info on the songs it was more accurate tho, Spring Day is so much deeper that that...
tbf, she didn't say it was what Spring Day was about, she was only referecing to the fact that after all the members joined the military, Army made Spring Day chart again as a way to say good-bye. She didn't give any explanation on what the song is about really, which I think is fair for a first time listening, you want to give them space to get what they get from it before diving deeper if they are interested.
Spring Day needs the explanation video because without it people cannot understand the essence of this song. It's a sad a very sad song. It refere to death and processing of it.
RM was not just the "first guy" to join, he was a well known underground rapper, that's why he was chosen, for his skills in song writting and producing too, the other members joined for their own individuals skills too
Okay, not trying to be critical and all but I think that reacting to a explanation to this song would be much better to understand the lyrics, the music video and what BTS is about than seeing them performing to it. Maybe that happen because the person who is helping you getting to know them doesn't seem to be army and therefore doesn't know them as much as us. And this bring me for my next point. If you really doing a series of getting to know different groups you should seek out people from the fandoms to help you get to know them, not someone who has a vague idea of the groups. There's many guides and introduction for groups on the internet, BTS per example has some great ones and even documentary made by fans who are much better than those made by professionals. But I understand that's just your first time with the group and there's gonna be many more opportunities to know them better in the future.
No , the song about the promise is their last released song as a group call “yet to come” which MV has references of their different videos from debut until now , including this MV. So you got that wrong. Spring day is about them missing a friend. And in the context it was released in SK and the references in the video match with the sewol ferry incident.
RM (the leader) actually wrote this song. He's written many of the BTS songs as he's the lead writer of the group. The story behind it is after the Sewol ferry tragedy (the ferry in Korea that sunk and killed over 300 school kids) RM wrote this in memory of the disaster. The South Korean government tried to silence any entertainment companies from talking about the crash because the acting president at the time failed at helping save those kids. So the Spring Day song as well as the MV is RM's way of allowing those children to be remembered. Just as the season of spring comes back every year, their memory will live on through this song. The song in particular is loved by so many Koreans which is why it's charted for 7 years. Right now every Korean knows BTS because of how famous they've become, but Spring Day was released before they're global fame and a lot of Koreans knew and listened to Spring Day but didn't know who BTS were. I'm so glad you guys are reacting to BTS! There's so much depth and lore in their music. They've created a standard of pushing artistry in the kpop industry and I can't wait to see you guys really get into them
This song wasn’t written for the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. It was written by RM and Suga about their experiences with losing friends. RM spoke about how it was about high school friends he wished he had the confidence to reach back out to (which he actually did after writing this song) and Suga wrote his verse about his best friend from his teens/early 20s (which he later continued to write about in the song Dear My Friend on his solo mixtape). It was connected to the tragedy because they used the music video to memorialize the victims of it. But the song itself wasn’t written with that event in mind.
@@ipurpleu1668 Yeah tbh we don't know if they thought about Sewol because as I said it was extremely controversial to say something like that. The story you mentioned about RM and Suga talking about friendship in the song is something they publicly stated about what the song was about. But till this day we don't have confirmation that it's connected to Sewol ferry tragedy when there's clear evidence in the MV that it is. Jin did state in an interview that it was about a sad event, and RM himself said that the MV is a visual representation of the song itself and can be interpreted in many different ways. There's also rumours of JK wanting the staff to really bring out motifs that connected the MV to the crash, but again all hearsay. With regards to the MV, most Koreans (including myself) think it is connected to Sewol ferry tragedy because of all the imagery; the shoes, the pile of clothing, yellow ribbons on the carousel etc. But we never got confirmation. RM mentioned the story of friendship during their MMA daesang speech. But the song was written three years after the Sewol crash so there's a possibility that it was inspired by that and perhaps they couldn't publicly state it? Tbh I don't think we'll ever get confirmation on that but I guess it's fun to guess
@@athenasantiago3465 Honestly, it's a little frustrating to hear people talk about Korean politics so incorrectly and trust fan theories over what BTS has actually said. It was NOT controversial to speak about the Sewol Ferry Tragedy when Spring Day was released. The president was already impeached from office, heading to jail, all of Korea was celebrating, the celebration was all over the news, there was absolutely no reason why they 'couldn't' say it. Years before that, yes, there were worries about 'blacklisting', but that was gone by the time this song was released. There are reasons why they probably DIDN'T: such as not wanting to take away attention and just add to the celebration, or because BTS has NEVER explained they music videos and music. They have always let the music speak for itself. It has been talked about many times what the song is about. PDogg, Bang PD, BigHit articles, etc. have all talked about the music video's inspiration and how grateful they are that it meant so much to Korea. They are very directly confirmed what the music video was about. And it has also been explained how the song was written about specific personal memories, by RM and Suga multiple times. Suga even continued the message in his verse in Spring Day in 'Dear My Friend' from his second mixtape. He uses the same words and same sounds at some points because he wrote them about the same person. As a fandom, we should focus on LISTENING to the group themselves, rather than obsessing with theories and learning incorrect information about the political climate of a country.
@@ipurpleu1668 huh? It didn't matter that she was impeached and that the country celebrated her impeachment, from a kpop idol's perspective it does not make sense to talk about it, even if time passes. Kpop idols don't touch politics. The ex president still had right wing activists that supported her and were against her impeachment well after it happened. Also, you missed the whole point RM was making. He said the MV is a visual representation of the song and can be interpreted in many different ways. Unless BTS flat out denies the connection (which they've made a point not to) I have every right to theorize however I choose to. That's the whole point of art. Also side note, why the fuck do you care? Why are you getting so worked up writing long ass paragraphs over harmless theories. Does it bother BTS that we're doing this? No, because RM encouraged it, and they've always encouraged our theories. So what's your beef?
@@athenasantiago3465 Again, you do not know what you are talking about. Lots of idols were speaking out the tragedy by the time Spring Day was released. Idols from 4minutes, AOA, BIGBANG, 2AM, VIXX, just to name a few, we’re all posting about it. Both big and small groups. Having to listen to foreigners lecture me about my culture and country can be very frustrating. There was NO reason why BTS couldn’t talk about it. And they did, through this music video. That doesn’t mean the song was written about it. They have talked about what it was written about, and BigHit has talked about what the music video was about many times. You are saying your “theory” as if it were fact, which it isn’t. I recommend listening to BTS’ and BigHit’s actual words over fan explanations.
Oh boy be prepared for the onslaught of ARMYs For real though BTS is the Ultimate K-pop Group. Their catalogue is huge, their talent is unsurpassed, and they’re hilarious and humble. OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! They have a loooot of songs that are really great to breakdown, their lyrics are always meaningful and often have social commentaries. Their lyric writing is top tier.
Please watch the explanation for this Music Video, it is very sentimental and pays homage to the Sewol Ferry tragedy. This MV is a great example of BTS' thoughtfulness and crítical views on societal injustices.
you should reallyyyyyy check out the explanation video! it has such a deep meaning like the original intention of the song! Please do it some time! I loveee this!!!!
She’s THAT type of blink…she knew a lot of things about BTS…but couldn’t even tell them what the song was about?? Like maybe show them an explanation video rather than dance practice
Fun facts: This song BTS members wrote for their old friends and the whole music video has some backstory behinds. Because this song is so universal, about missing someone you love, longing to someone who passed so people are very related to this song and becomes the most streamed song in SK’s main music chart. They got song of the year and debut on under hot100 charts first time. Also this song has many references from books, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, A little match girl and some movies, Snowpiercer. 💜
I think with BTS, you need to look more about the meaning of their songs... this group really puts a lot of attention in their lyrics and tbh is one of the best things they have.
I think it is important to get information from reliable sources. For example Spring Day and even the member introductions. Taylor Mari’s Introduction is generally regarded as the best. This way you aren’t getting filtered or biased interpretations. I don’t have history with your content so you have to gain my trust.
They look sad, because the song it's really sad... If you want to understand better the context and the sentiment of Spring Day, and know why is the number 1 streamed song in SK since the release, you need to watch the explanation video, but trigger warning, it's really hard💔
The Sewol Ferry tragedy is fundamental to understanding the Spring Day mv, and missing that leaves the guys unintentionally looking like jerks out of ignorance when they laugh and joke about elements like shoes representing dead children. Even reading the Wikipedia entry on Spring Day would have tipped any researcher off about the Sewol connection, so I don't know how that was missed. There are some good explainers of the Spring Day mv on RU-vid, often reactors react to an explainer in the same video as the SD mv or else as a follow up to their Spring Day mv reaction. I would recommend the "What you STILL DON'T KNOW about BTS SPRING DAY MV" youtube explainer video by Italian ARMY. Also, there is a real distinction to be drawn between BTS and normal idol groups that can help a newbie appreciate their particular artistry and integrity. They sing & rap live, unlike many Kpop groups (and western acts) that lip-sync or rely on a loud backup track. The members determine their own artistic directions as a group & as solos and they write lyrics. They have written songs with thought, feeling, commentary about society & human condition, and some clever word play in Korean. Some members like Suga are also producers. It is common for Kpop group members to write & produce nothing for the group and to have no choice about the concept(s) of the group or what songs they perform. BTS are also known for their impressive dancing and shows - shows with live vocals during challenging dance and never a lacklustre phoned in performance. Taylor Mari's Guide to the BTS Members is an excellent introduction to the members. If you want to learn more about how BTS stands out among other Kpop groups and other boybands from around the world, Boracity Magazine has some well researched videos on RU-vid that provide good context.
No disrespect, she's obv not an army, and there's nothing wrong with that but I think it's better to find introductions and insights from people that actually know bts as a group and their art. Or I would like to hear more of your thoughts and theories after reacting to the song without having a preconceived notion of "what it's about". Just react to it blindly instead of being misinformed. Cause I feel like that notion can restrict you from your own takes or theories about it's meaning. Army is always enthusiastic about discussing BTS songs anyways. Maybe it's because you reacted to spring day, a song with so much depth. Maybe that's why it elicited such a reaction in me. However, this is just how I feel, and I just wanted to express that.
Yes it was difficult not to cringe when they’re chuckling and vibing at scenes and not understanding what the song is about. BTS are not BP. So I think they should do MORE research about the songs because the lyrics and backstory are essential when listening to BTS.
if you know the meaning of this song then you understand why its sad. there is a explained video of this song one mv explained and one real of a italian army. behind this song there is a sad story thats why
Wow referring to RM as just the first guy to join must be the biggest crime in K-pop fyi he was already an established underground rapper when he was recruited he is the main rapper, main songwriter, producer, composer and spokesman of the group ( he is the idol with 2nd most song credits with 200+ songs as producer song writer and composer in SK) His lyricism is so interesting and intrigued he is called the Philosopher that Raps he is constantly prais d by literature community in his country his lyrics are featured in museums alongside SK's biggest authors and poets. he is a very talented and respected musician; his last solo album "Right Place Wrong Person" is named as one of the best albums of this year by many respected music publications like Billboard, NME, Rolling Stone and AP alongside great artists like Beyonce, Billie Ellish Taylor Swift etc..
this! joon is the main key of bts. like i'm sorry what the heck was that introduction, the pictures & the description for some members is just big no. i think the one who made it is def jk's bias lol.
@@melz-hl9mx Nope, I’m just very uninformed on the members and tried my best based on other intros. What aspects would you like me to focus on in the future?
Yeah, being told that it was about missing them during their enlistment really wasn’t the best here. Firstly, it’s not actually true, it has just acquired this additional context over the years. But even so, it’s just about missing somebody; someone who died, a breakup, a friend you had a falling out with, family you don’t see often. I think you would have related to it so much more if you had just read the lyrics and formed your own opinion! Still love the reaction though and really hope for more 😊
27:45 Ummmm I'm thinking you guys are getting the wrongish idea here. This song was originally about missing someone when released in 2017. The music video is about the Sewol Ferry Tragedy (rotten mango did a good video about it if you're interested). It was only kinda used as a song to miss BTS when they started leaving for the military in 2022. And even then, the song and music video is more known for the first two reasons I listed. If you want BTS songs that BTS definitely dedicated to their fans, there's no shortage of that hahaha. There's Mikrokosmos, Answer Love Myself, Boy With Love, We are Bulleproof: the Eternal, Magic Shop, Pied Piper, 2!3!, and a TOOONNNN of others. Tbh, if you're thinking of a song BTS left behind for the fans before leaving for the military and a promise to comeback, it's DEFINITELY "Yet to Come", not "Spring Day". "Yet to Come" (and an older song called We are Bulletproof: The Eternal) are definitely songs that kinda sum up their history within their music videos and their feelings in the lyrics. ^___^ Oh and no malice at all, but just a thought, you might want to talk to someone who is a longtime army about BTS. Just cuz they most likely won't give you misinformation. Happy you guys checked out BTS
Ok this is odd for me too, love Blind Wave for my geeky reactions but I’m also pure purple ARMY through and through. I would suggest watching one of the intros to the band, the powerpoint had a lot of misinformation in it about BTS. And I know how Blind Wave likes to take notes and get stuff right. BTS is the biggest band in the world and ARMYs have been lucky that even during their military we have continued to get steady content and music from them that tops the charts without needing any manipulation like having MVs listed as blogs. Please watch an intro for a deeper understanding of the band and some of their multiple genres of music. Since they write and produce their music from day 1 they have grown into several different styles. Enjoy!! 💜
Personally I like to hear the raw audio on dance practices bc it feels more like you're there. You can hear the steps, the breathing, sometimes if it's a playful or energetic moment the members will shout out. Not everything has to be perfect. Sometimes perfect means less interesting :) I loved your discussions! Despite hearing this song alot and watching the practice and hearing others' reactions, you all shared some new perspectives. Thank you for the work. Also, love the editing of the stacked chairs. I was sooooo confused for a long time haha.
The enlistment thing is true but I think it relates more to their song yet to come considering they had to enlist around 6 years after they would have made the song
Spring Day has been in the Korean charts for over 7 years. The MV is dense with symbolism referring to the Sewol Ferry disaster. Check out ITALIAN ARMY SPRING DAY.
Yeah I feel like Yet To Come matches her explanation better. Spring Day is about loss and longing, but it's always been a popular song for army, not just after bts' enlistment.
You know, it could be too early, but knowing you guys like to solve mysteries and connect storylines, I'll leave this piece of information: some BTS videos are connected in a intricate (fictional) storyline. This story unfolds in multiple media (music videos, a mobile game, extra footage, concert VCRs...) but there is a kdrama that summarize the key points, its called 'beings youth'(12 episodes), it was released this year and it's soooooo good, you can give it a try 🤞
I recommend watching "What you still don't know about BTS Spring Day MV" by Italian Army. It is by far the best explanation video on the MV and provides an in depth explanation on all the symbolism.
I have been following you (Blind Wave) since 2020 and started being an ARMY in 2021 (been to concerts, I now live in Seoul, I have tattoos of their songs and all: invested to the bone). I watch your content and their content every damn day: this is my two worlds colliding. Fun (not so fun) fact: I once sent you a message telling you how much you helped me when I had a huge loss in my family. Rick replied to me. It was back at the end of 2020. Funny enough, 3 months later I found BTS and they pulled me out of my depression. It's insane how the 2 things that kept me sain and going through life were you and BTS and now you're reacting to it and I'm in tears. I have to say that the day you will discover their storyline (The BU or Bangtan Universe), a story that runs independently in their MV - it's a long story - it will blow your minds, as I know how you love when things are connected. I also think you will love that their songs and the meaning are often more profound than what the translation provides (as Korean is a language where the same word can mean 10 things): it's clever, has so much sense and things that happened years before can come back like in a show when a line is said and later on you're "oh that's why they said that or that's why that happened" etc. Anyway, way too long but I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS. And if you need guidance, I can help! I hope you'll enjoy!
Im fairly new to BTS, and even newer to the whole commenting thing ☺, but after watching this video and reading the, to be truly honest, surprising comments, I needed to say this. Because before I watch something I tend to first look at the date the channel was created, date of first videos, amount of videos, check if there is previous, if any k-pop content, because it sort of gives an idea of what to expect. Then I either confirm my expectations or am surprised when watching the video that brought me to that particular channel. All of this long winded comment to say that, I kind of expected a bit more from an obviously veteran channel, with tons of videos and subscribers, a lot of which as ive noticed in comments are ARMY and seem to really like you and respect you and are ecstatic for you to be reacting to BTS. It is those ARMY comments that tell me that you are good people and also good reactors in your previous content, and they make me a bit more willing to check that content out. Because If I based my opinion on this video alone I wouldn't come back. I would expect and understand and excuse something this uninformed, and worse - misinformed - from brand new channels, or even just brand new reactors but not from YT veterans, even if you are/were new to k-pop or specifically BTS. The lady is at least somewhat aware of both, and even though I dont know everything about k-pop, as I dont listen to it, and only know about it because of context, and am also fairly new (just under a year) to BTS, it didnt take me 2 days to realise that being minimally accurate when talking about groups that have dedicated fandoms can only be a good thing. Or at least start blind, ask questions and the comments will guide you and answer. And I guess this song being your choice for first reaction in conjunction with all I previously mentioned was just unfortunate. I will keep an eye out for more of your videos, maybe not the ones you have already recorded, as they will likely be as ill informed, but the ones after you maybe read the comments, and I will look forward to see what it is that makes ARMY enjoy your channel so much 💜 I'm so sorry for rambling on.
Definitely should watch the guide by Taylor one of the best guides out there if you want to understand members better. As well as explanation for spring day MV because the music video is deeper than you think 💜
For the live versions, maybe you could use a live performance from one of their concerts. I think you can hear and see them perform with less editing compared to the Music Bank live performances. 🎤 This song can be for anyone you’re missing or who might be gone. Like most meaningful songs, it has many different meanings and interpretations. Many believe it references a tragic event that happened in South Korea. If you’re interested in learning more about them, they have other content related to their songs, like behind-the-scenes footage. For example, they released a "Lovely ver." (cute version) dance practice for one of their annual anniversary celebrations, called "FESTA," as a gift to fans. It’s a lot of fun because you get to see their goofy sides and more of their personalities. Thanks for checking out BTS! 💜
the fact that spring day isn't even the promise song but it is yet to come. spring day was released in 2017. yet to come was released in 2022, the same year that the hiatus and military enlistment of jin was announced. it is unfortunate that no one informed was with there to mention it to you
Army re-charted this song when BTS enlisted because we miss them but that is not the meaning of the song! It's not a promise of returning to us - I think Janci mixed up the meaning of the song with the reason why we listened to it again so much last year
10:32 It's not laundry day, actually the clothes represents the victims of ferry incident. The clothes, the bags and other are the stuff that they later brought back from the ocean. If you are reacting to spring day, you should definitely watch the explanation. This song is tribute to the students who lost their lives in tragedy. From the day this song was released, it's still of the chart because people in Korea listens to it regularly, remembering the incident. It's a very emotional song.
absolutely love your channel for your series reactions and now this is just a great surprise . the lady however is wrong with her information , ik she stans some other group but she should refrain herself from spreading misinfo about stuff she has no knowledge about.
Also with all due respect again whoever is choosing the songs needs to get input from actual Army boy with love is not representative of BTS you're better off using mic drop or Black swan and also please react to Bangtan 7 Taylor guide 💜
If you want to react to a song that's sonically beautiful, lyrically moving and visually breathtaking, I recommend BLACK SWAN. You can dissect the lyrics, be amazed at their dance practice and MV and be mindblown at their live performace. If you want all that but looking for a more high energy, epic-feel then I'd recommend "ON" Kinetic Manifesto Film : Come Prima.
Firstly, you've completely missed the deep meaning of this magnificent piece. Secondly, they are on hiatus(not the definition generally thought) from group activity because of their mandatory military service. But before joining the military they've prepared multiple solo albums for us to enjoy which their label is releasing simultaneously. Thirdly, a humble request to do a little research about the song you are about to listen because 11 years of artistry deserve at least that much, not just RU-vid trend for marathon. I believe you will be able to appreciate even more. Anyway thank you and good luck with the reactions.💜
In addition to the Sewol Ferry tragedy and The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, the mv also references Snow Piercer, a well-known Korean novel and a movie. Lots and lots of symbolism in BTS videos.
RM is and has always been BTS main songwriter with now 226 credits to his name. 25 of which have hit billboard hot100. 5 have hit #1 RM also produces a bit along with suga and jhope. I pray to god you guys get an actual ARMY and not a multi to introduce you to BTS and why they are unique and are worlds apart from K-pop and other groups.
Spring Day is a beautiful song but has to be understood to be truly appreciated. If you wish to dig deeper, watch one of the explanation videos for this song. I appreciate that you tried to gather info on the members, but it is a bit incorrect/misleading. There are some really good guides (one by Taylor Mari is very informative and accurate). Otherwise, there seems to be a lot of info in the comments. One other thing - BTS is actually quite different from standard KPOP groups in that they write, compose, produce most of their own music. They also contribute to choreo, directing, designing, etc. Their lyrics are incredible and worth understanding.
BTS's song "Spring Day" is said to be inspired by the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster in South Korea, which resulted in the loss of over 300 lives, mostly high school students. The song captures themes of longing, loss, and the passage of time, reflecting on the pain of separation and the hope for reunion. I hope the serious tone and sad expressions make sense now...
It was not inspired by the Sewol ferry tragedy. It was written about RM and Suga's personal experiences, both who have went into depth about it. For RM, it was for friendships he had lost from high school, and writing this song actually encouraged him to reach back out to those people. For Suga, he expanded on his verse in Spring Day through his solo song, Dear My Friend, both which were written about his best friend that went to jail. They used this beautiful song to spend hope to the victims' friends and families through the music video as a tribute, it is not what the song was inspired/written about though.
@@ipurpleu1668 Jin has confirmed the song is also about a tragedy in an interview, and the only tragedy the song is linked to is the Sewol Ferry Tragedy
@@marirezende8478 No he did not. He said it was about sad events in life, but people keep translating it to 'a sad event/tragedy', which is not what he said. It has been confirmed multiple times by many people (Pdogg, Bang PD, etc) that the music video was a tribute to the tragedy. And it has also been confirmed many times that the song itself was written from personal experiences. Both are true.
@@ipurpleu1668 You are confusing things, when I say "song" I do not mean "lyrics", "song" encompasses the whole release. EVEN if the lyrics aren't directly about that, the MV clearly is, and it also represents the song, that's the reason artists do music videos. And besides that, EVEN if the lyrics aren't about that, the Korean population has adopted it as a tribute to the tragedy, and BTS is ok with that, giving new meanings happen all the time and it doesn't take away from the original, but adds to it, so the *lyrics* now are as much about personal feelings as about the grief the families were feeling/feel. And I've never seen any other translation for that interview, you're the first person I've ever seen saying that, so I'm sorry if I'm taking it with a grain of salt, I would have to do my own research to believe it.
@@marirezende8478 The song was written specifically about personal experiences. There are universal experiences. BTS has used it to pay tribute to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy victims, and to people during COVID. Most Koreans do not see this song as one about the tragedy, they see the song as a beautiful song about grief and longing. Most people I know (I live in Korea) do not know about this song having a connection to the tragedy. It was written for a particular reason and then used for many others as well. Both can be true.
The shoes represent someone missing, gone usually from death. The clothes represent the same, all the clothes the missing or gone won’t ever wear again.
Well I've been a Blindwave fan for years and never commented before but BTS is my favourite thing in the world and seeing two things that bring me so much comfort collide is great. I love that you guys decided to jump in the world of KPOP, is so fun here. 💜
OMG was not expecting my boys to make it into this channel. First Taylor and now BTS, you truly are going for my favourite artists as well as my favourite shows!
I think you should've explained the context of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy linked to the song, because it was confirmed by Jin in a interview and it gives new light to the song... It isn't about the fans, although we also link it to us
