I think what makes RM the leader, apart from the fact that he is the first to join, are his mind, heart, and work ethic. He is the BACKBONE of this group. With his language skills, he can communicate very well with the company, members, peers, and audience. He is not just mentally intelligent, he is emotionally smart too as well as socially conscious and well-cultured. He owns up to his mistakes and actually learns from them. With this, he was able to teach and apply his learnings on to the other members. He is indeed a GREAT leader. In fact, a lot of his industry peers admitted that they idolize him and his leadership skills.
That's debatable... yes to the guitar (mostly at least - he did use it on stage after all) - even as he doesn't seem to do that right so we don't know what his current skill level is now but piano? for the stage performance he memorized the correct finger movement and we have a clip of him starting piano lessons later but no evidence that he kept going over this first few lessons. There is a reason why it is not in this intro.

And for the guitar he knows it to play cuz its not just in that performance that he played but there are many behind the scenes of him playing as well and he played it on vlive as well where jimin sang butterfly and he played guitar.. And when chris martin gifted him the guitar, he clearly said in one of his interviews that jin got some knowledge in instruments where suga also said to jin that hyung u know how to play but jin said that he forgot which had a reason that you may or may not understand.. But the creator is at fault definitely..

RM is actually in the middle when it comes to age order. It goes Jin (30 on December 4th), Suga (29), J-Hope (28), RM (28), Jimin (27), V (26), and Jungkook (25) by age. Think of the leader like he's team captain of a sports team. Trainees for kpop companies are found through auditions, scouting at schools, or they can find talent on the street (like with Jin). They will usually train(singing, rapping, dancing, acting lessons) like 30 people for 2-5 years (sometimes shorter or a lot longer) and from that pool of trainees they will form a group. Initially BTS was supposed to be made of strictly rappers who didn't dance and things changed over time so actually some trainees left Bighit because they didn't want to dance. Aside from J-Hope and Jimin none of the other members had a ton of experience with dancing. Korean age is calculated differently so when BTS members say their age they are actually 1 or 2 years younger than what they say. So when it says Jungkook was 15 he was actually 13 when he joined Bighit. But I think they have or will be going by an international age system soon. Basically to get Korean age you are 1 when you are born and then on New Years (January 1st) not your actual birthday everyone turns a year older. So for instance V was born December 30, 1995 so 2 days later on January 1st, 1996 he was already 2 years old by Korean age but was actually only 2 days. Jungkook has entire sleeve tattoo, tattoos on his hand, and a number 7 behind his ear. Jimin also has multiple tattoos a number 7 on his finger, crescent moons from his neck down his spine, Nevermind on his ribcage, the words Young Forever on the back of his arms, the word Youth behind his ear, number 13 on his wrist. And actually this year all 7 members got matching 7 tattoos. I already mentioned Jungkook and Jimin's 7 tattoo placement. But for the others RM has it on his ankle, J-Hope's is on his calf, Jin's is on the side of his ribcage, and V and Suga haven't revealed exactly where their tattoos are yet. Tattoos are still very taboo in South Korea so there are a lot of times where they have to cover them up for performances in South Korea by clothes or flesh toned stickers. Actually V was number 6, Jimin was the last member. V was just the last member to be revealed to the public. They've actually talked about what they would probably do if it weren't for BTS and only Suga and V said a profession related to music.

Since bts was from a smaller label, they had a lot of artistic freedom from the beginning. Their debut songs talked about the school system in korea and Young love. of course they had to undergo some harsh dance training and diets in their early stages but even that was completely upto them. Every bts song is about or based on bts themselves and things they have thought about. So their albums are a true self exploration journey. Like if you start from the beginning (2 cool 4 skool) and come upto their most recent (BE and proof) you are basically watching the growth of person. I hope people are interested in their albums. Right now, Each of the them releasing solo projects before they leave for military. Jins full album however will only come after he comes back from his service. That's why he released astronaut beforehand just for fans. The rest will release before leaving. Namjoon, RM is releasing his next week. Bts will make their comeback as a group by the end of 2025. So if anyone wants to get into bts, now is the perfect time, Cus each time they comeback they literally overwhelm us with music. Now is like the perfect opportunity to basically dig in into the 10 years of content. 😂

yeah but the artistic freedom isn't just because they were small. There are tons of small companies that have complete control over the artists and treat artists even more unfairly than big 3 companies. The size of a company has nothing to do with it. Big Hit was just the real special one.

When Jungkook says 15, he was actually 13. When they say their age, it’s their Korean age, which is 1-2 years older than their actual age. In Korea, you’re automatically considered 1 years old when you’re born, but it’s confusing, because you turn 2 years old in January 1st. For example, V was born Dec 30th, so he was 1 years old… then Jan 1st he’s considered 2 years old, even though his birthday hasn’t come yet. So technically he was 2 years old at 2 days old lol. So yeah, so Jungkook was 13 years old when he joined in 2011 and when BTS debuted in 2013, he was then 15 years old. Btw, BTS was 7 members, it’s just that V was hidden until they debuted like a surprise. Jimin and V are best friends (they all are), but they are the same age and even went to the same high school (Jimin joined V there when he moved to Seoul as a trainee). But all of the guys love each other, even if their backgrounds and personalities may be different. They are all good people before they became famous, so in that aspect, they haven’t changed…other than their growth and experience when they get older.
Fun fact: Even after 10 years together becoming millionaires and having their own properties, the seven continued to live together until the beginning of this year (if I remember correctly), some members even continued to share rooms but they decided together that it was time to have more space and individual privacy. And yet, they meet face to face almost every week and are always talking about each other during lives and commenting on each other's stuff.

BTS is involved in every aspect of their music and Bang PD, their CEO, has always given them artistic freedom. RM is actually the leader because the group was formed around him by Bang PD. He is their musical and artistic center, has written the lyrics to 80-90% of their discography and composed for a lot of their chart-topping songs. He has 200 KOMCA credits as of now, and with his next solo album, Indigo (coming out THIS Friday!), he is coming closer to becoming the most-credited idol in SK history. Apart from him, Suga and J-Hope have the most input in their songs, writing their rap parts and even writing and composing for other parts of the songs. Also, Suga is a phenomenal producer.
They are so cute and its so fun to watch their content when you are new. Their content is much more intimate than you think. Sometimes they do these lives after a big even or a performance, it feels like one of those conversations when you get back to home with your friends and do the juicy gossip time after a long day. And you feel like you see all their lives but they keep a healthy boundary for cameras too, thats a good thing, you only see themnin backstages or when they choose to livestream, never in their private area

Here is an update about BTS since this video was uploaded. In June 2022 BTS released their anthology album called Proof to celebrate 9 years as a group and announced they would be pursuing solo albums instead of group music for the time being, but that they would continue to make other content together like their variety show Run BTS. Soon after that announcement J-Hope released his first solo album called Jack In the Box and also headlined Lollapalooza which is a major music festival in the US. In a bid for South Korea to host the 2030 world expo BTS performed a major concert in Busan, South Korea for free. Soon after the concert was held it was announced that BTS members would be enlisting in the Korean military starting with Jin who is the oldest (reports say he's enlisting December 13th). Military service is mandatory for all able bodied men in South Korea for 18-21 months. The other members will enlist after their own solo activities are completed but according to their company they should reunite in 2025. That means the other 6 members will probably enlist throughout 2023 or early 2024. Technically they can wait until 30 to enlist but I'm thinking they are enlisting earlier than they have to so they can get it done and over with so they can come back as a group sooner. Let me make this clear in case you ever hear anything to the contrary. BTS consider it an honor and a duty to serve their country and they have never demanded special treatment or exemption. Suga released the song That That with PSY (the man who did the song Gangnam Style), Jin released a solo song called The Astronaut last month that he worked on with Coldplay as a goodbye for now present for ARMY before he enlists and he got to perform it in Argentina with Coldplay. RM will be releasing his first solo album called Indigo on December 2nd and Jungkook just released a song for the FIFA world cup soundtrack called Dreamers. They also received 3 more Grammy nominations this year making their total Grammy nominations 5 overall. They are the only kpop artists to ever be nominated for a Grammy and they've been nominated 3 years in a row. BTS is still very much a group and they have no plans on disbanding anytime soon, so lets support them as much as we can in all their future endeavors.

V and Jimin (aka vmin) are bestfriends and theyre known as the 95s, soulmates ( they call each other this a lot) and there the two closesest members I hope you check out their moments too. My 12 y/o daughter introduced me to BTS 1 year ago. I was very skeptical. Not until we went to their Permission to Dance concert in Vegas did I realized that these group of guys are really good! I appreciated how loving and genuine they are to their fans. In addition, their fan base….they are the most caring and supportive people. They are patient and polite. I remember when my wife and daughter stood in line for over 9 hours for merch. Yet, they had a great time! I’ve had the privilege to be part of 4 eras of music. 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2020s. From my humble opinion, BTS is by far the greatest of all time. Why? Because they change people . These guys bridge the gaps of: age, race, and gender. 6:11 well, they had to follow some rules first couple years, but as they grew, they have total artistic freedom. They are actually shareholders of their own company, so they are not "controlled" they make their own decisions. Also, their Producer Bang PD who formed them is known as producer who gives a lot of artistic freedom, he actually wanted them to write themselves, to be authentic So, no, they are not controlled in a sense that other companies control their groups
i mean, half of them were minors at that time, the company obviously had to take care of them and have rules, but what I appreciate is that since their debut they had the freedom to write their songs and talk about their struggles in life

I'm going to make some ocmments as you go along... RM is the leader, but it's not like a western band leader. He is responsible for keeping the group together and communicating with the company - so that includes discipline within the group. Korea is a very hierarchical society where age is often crucial in affording authority - RM is right in the middle, so it's a bit strange that he is the leader. He is also, with guidance from the company, responsible for a lot of the planning as to the trajectory of the group and for the message of their music. RM;s desire to do music was not supported by his family - his mum destroyed his mic to try to get him to focus on academic work. You asked about their work ethic - it is fierce. in the years since they started training they worked non-stop, and their first break of more than a day at a time was in 2018 when they took two weeks to decide whether to disband due to exhaustion. They resigned with BigHit for ARMY and not for money. Sugas parents really hated his pursuit of rapping - his mum burned all his music at one point, and he lost all of his songs. Proud now though. They do all like each other, but they fought, and shared some of that with us. Bang Si Hyuk encouraged them to fight and it worked, bringing them together. Not all Kpop bands like each other - some detest other members. However, I think that when they were recruited BSH looked for talent and potential, but he actually felt that a good personality and emotional maturity were at least as if not more important. Jin is shy and an introvert - he coined World Wide Handsome to deal with his embarrassment at all the shouts of "Oh, so handsome". He is also incredibly kind and generous with everyone he meets. So many examples of random contacts when other celebrities called him, woke him up, and he still was so polite. He is very modest about his musicianship - had never sung or danced before he joined as a trainee, and finds himself close to such a group of instinctive musicians, but he worked hard, and his singing teacher now says he is the most improved. It took time for BTS to get any success: Jin tells a story of how his mum used to sit and listen to her friends boast about their sons, and she just had to be quiet - he hoped that one day he could be son she could be proud of. Donne it now. He and RM both bought apartments for their parents in Gangnam, the most expensive area of Seoul, upstairs and downstairs from each other - Dads play golf at the weekend. Nice. When JK came to Seoul from Busan, he was 13 - Korean age reckoning is weird. The other guys literally looked after him like a little brother. Like many idols (including V and Jimin) he had to complete school while training and working for BTS. I wonder if you have noticed yet the way that BTS music is about their real lives: which is exactly what BSH wanted from them. I think it is a major difference between them and other Kpop bands, some of whom are now involved in writing their music - this is a very recent development across Kpop. JK often does home concerts. On his 2021 birthday Vlive, he sang and took requests from ARMY for 4 hours, in his pyjamas. V is very talented, very eccentric, and a social butterfly. He has done some programmes with a group of friends, known as the Wooga Squad, who he met when he was filming Hwarang. And he is a much better actor than anyone ever says - he had no clue what he was doing when he did that - knew camera angles etc but didn't understand filming schedules - asked Park Seo Jun for help, received it and they have been great friends ever since. His style is more distinctly different than any of the others, with his deep love of jazz. His features are unusual for a Korean man, but he looks just like his dad. His parents were not well off and he was brought up by his grannie for a long time. He told his dad he wanted to do music, and his dad said he had to play an instrument, so he got a sax - I don't think it would have been easy for them to get the money but they did. Jimin had no singing when he joined as a trainee and he had the shortest training time before debut. Jin and JK were given vocal training, but there was no money to do the same for him. He used to tag along to classes, and Jin and JK would try to help him copy what they had learned when they got back home. He remained insecure about his singing for a long time, and we see staff and other trying to reassure him when he is self-critical. Now, I think he knows. I;m glad that you appreciated Taylor's work, but wish you had watched to the end so you could hear a tiny bit about her process and consultation with other ARMYs. Still, I hope you learned a lot, got your bearings a little bit and will lean in to learn even more about BTS and all the wonderful things they do. Thank you
These guys are so incredible I'm 31 and there lyrics and touchy songs have been apart of my life through the good and bad times in my life I wouldn't be where I am without them. Plus Jin is the oldest rm in the 3rd eldest member I believe of I'm correct.

Yep so Jin was in college to be an actor. He was scouted by bighit getting off the bus. He learned to sing and dance from zero. He had no experience whatsoever. BTS MVs have a whole other storyline known as the BTS Universe or BU. And Jin basically plays the main character in the storyline shown thru the music videos

There's a reason why V is known as the ultimate Stan attractor ....... he was the first member i noticed nd became my ultimate bias( tho at the end i ended up falling in luv with everyone nd currently i don't have any bias)......he won the title of word's most handsome man for 6 freaking years!! such a fashion icon and beautiful person inside out. He's known as the king of kpop, idol of the idols, king of fancams, diamond voice of korea and the list goes on and on and on. No one can beat his stage presence.
The way that Bang PD treated and managed BTS is unique in itself. Unlike many of the kpop idols in the 3rd generation to which BTS belongs to, they have so much more freedom. They write or have co-written and co-produced their music. That freedom is also shown in how they act, ARMYs call it "chaotic spirit" but one will notice that no other idol has the freedom to act as freely or "chaoticly" as BTS and that's because Big Hit allow them to be as natural as possible. If they are respectful, careful and very mindful of how they speak, act and behave that's a decision made by the group and their company and not just imposed on them. BTS understood what is required of them and what they represent. They're very smart and that's why I really respect them for it. A lot of people question the company about why the group is not dating, cannot do this or that...but one needs to understand that the kpop industry as with a lot of the other asian idols have a very different culture that western ones. Understanding that would make one admire these 7 kings a lot, lot more. What they've gone through and what they continue to do is so unique and meaningful. And at the center of it, they always have their fans in mind. ARMYs know this, and that's also the reason why the fandom is extremely loyal and protective of BTS.

These seven men are some of the kindest, most generous and most talented people on the planet. There's also a good guide by xCeleste that shares a lot of information, and another video about the struggles they went through to get where they are. I hope you continue to listen to their music and get to know them as the impressive and inspiring people that they are. This video didn't even touch on their philanthropic work.

You're just like me 😂 i found bts through jin's solo song too, it's called Epiphany. I love the song soo much so i tried watching more of his contents but of course I can't avoid watching the other members too. I immediately became a fan of the group with jin as my bias since then until now 💜
V broke the instagram record of fastest to 1M(in 40 odd mins) and 10M(in less than 5 hrs) followers, the day they all joined together. They all actually broke the previous record.. but V did it fastest. He holds the Guinness World Records for the same. 💜
Side note about RM and the beginning of BTS. RM auditioned for a competition or something and failed that. Sleepy(a person at the audition) saw him and recommended him to meet bighit ceo. Bang PD the ceo saw him and on the spot decided to sign him up and make a hip hop group centering RM. "I couldn't let go of a person with such amazing talent, I had to sign him",said bang pd. Then suga and jhope joined and there were other trainees too. But the whole concept changed and the hip hop group changed to idol group setting. Even prior debut RM had leadership qualities and encouraged the trainees to help each other and compete in healthy way. He has a really high IQ,EQ, extremely talented rapper and great lyricist(participated in writing 85% bts discography), he can speak English and is most involved with the groups concepts and songs. That's why despite not being the oldest he's the leader.

BTS very much inspires others. They’ve run like a year long song writing camp where they are all frequently writing and submitting songs. They encourage each other in things like art and education etc. Their relationship is the most wholesome if very co-dependent. They are just good guys who make fun and touching music from the heart that kind of accidentally became the biggest group in the world and all 7 are talented enough to be soloists.

Aside from being super talented, they are amazing and genuine people and you can really feel that as you get to know them. I love them so much. They gave me so much inspiration and motivation in life. I can’t thank them enough for pulling me out of the dark side of my life. They make me wanna be a better person each day. 💜
They're so multi-talented, in different ways, not just dancing and singing. And they love each other very much - trust, support, comfort, teamwork. They lived together 8 years, from first being trainees to five or six years into their performing years. They also encountered a lot of hate (that's another story), which pulled them together and kept them fighting. And of course their incredible talent! I'm 68 years old and just couldn't believe it, for all these decades my music has been classic rock and folk, no pop really, so I couldn't believe it! Please please explore more, you'll realize they are number one for good reason! P.S. V was a "secret" 7th member for two reasons. One is that he was so good at everything, BigHit didn't want him stolen by other companies. The other is his sexy looks, they knew when they put him on posters and made announcements with his picture, lots of girls would be attracted!

I was referred to this channel by a friend, and I loved meeting you, I think in this part 28:16 you ask Jin's age and he is 30 years old in world age, in Korean age I don't remember if it's 2 years older it's kinda confusing, and one thing that will make you admire him even more, is when Jin says that he is beautiful in everyone world for some people this can give a wrong impression of him, but in fact he says that because he learned to love himself after many years trying, and he wants his fans to learn to love themselves too, so he started saying that he's handsome to set an example for the fans he so cute, he says something like on a live I saw her a long time ago . Well spotted that V is a very handsome man as he has been voted the most handsome man in the World. It might surprise you to learn that Jungkook is actually very introverted. When he’s on stage or with his hyungs he’s full of fun and mischief but until quite recently he tried to avoid talking at award ceremonies and in interviews. He’s the maknae (youngest). It must have been very hard to carry the responsibility of being the centre at 15. He does a lot of the adlibs and sings a lot of the guides which introduce a song to the others. He idolises RM and is part of the mischievous maknae line along with Taehyung and Jimin. He also fools around with Jin on stage. The most important thing to know about them all is that there are no big egos in this group. They love and support each other not compete with each other. You are about to enter a very deep rabbit hole. It’s fun down here and there’s so much to learn about the boys. Have fun!

Almost everyday they post something or respond to post from Army. We have a variety show called RUN that they do a lots of games and is amazing see them "out of work". We have Bon Voyage and In the Soup that seems that we are with them on vacation.... I like it when people see how they started, because I see a lot of haters saying that they don't deserve so many awards or so many actions, man these kids literally broke the bread to get where they are, them giving away free tickets on the street because nobody I knew them, they trained 18 hours and that was what Namjoon himself, the leader of the group, said, they had to share the dorm until some time ago, apart from the fact that they were already mocked by the media of their country that several photographers lowered the cameras when they passed, they already turned off their microphones, fans of other groups turned off their lightsticks during their performance, they were humiliated on TV shows so much that they had to create their own show, and other things that happened in their personal lives, for example: Suga hurt his shoulder while works part time and he didn't tell BigHit so he didn't go see the doctor and he started to live with pain until 2020 if I'm not mistaken it was the year what he had his shoulder operated on, he said he didn't want to disappoint the fans and that's why he didn't operate before after he thought that if he left it would make us sad, there's also Jimin who has chronic pain and will have to live with it for the rest of his life because there is no cure, and Taehyung who during a tour received the news that his grandmother had died she was like a mother to him, so imagine these boys who were between 20 and 17 years old at the time, having to go through this and try not to give up and abandon everything, the youngest Jungkook was only 15 years old when he became a BigHit trainee so practically the other members raised him, imagine these boys living far from the family of nowhere living 7 people who didn't know each other, each with a different personality I don't know how they endured all this, so in short, I think they deserve everything they've achieved.
