Kate, as much as I love and admire your defensiveness when it comes to BTS, I must remind you that Ellen originally had no idea who BTS were and about their culture or what they represent or who and what they stood for! Ellen has always been known to ask questions like these kind to many celebs over the years that nobody else would dare ask, but always with a sense of humor in a light harmless way! Although I so do agree with you in not just the cringiness of it but how inappropriate it was! But I also must let you guys know that originally when they first appeared on Ellen show early 2018 for the very first time they were only slotted to just perform, nothing else!! Since most just barely heard of them!! When it became known and Ellen was made aware of just how many army were actually outside not even being able to go in to see them but just to only get a glimpse of them! She even went outside herself to check! She was blown away by how they were even singing BTS songs even in Korean and dancing as well. Blocks & blocks of army!! That's when to her credit!! Yes...Ellen needs to be credited for changing the format to allow them to not just perform but to sit down and be interviewed!! She even did research and after finding out RM's connection with the show Friends even gifted them with memorabilia from Friends being that it was filmed at the same place where Ellen's show is broadcasted!! She even invited some army I. To see the show and participate and be involved in behind the scene pranks!! The second time BTS was on the show later that year was the one you saw! She was one of the first have a televised interview with them and also this second show get them involved in even more behind the scenes pranks!! So all Ellen had done for them and even comparing them to the Beatles way back then showing just how many army were at the airport is all to Ellen's credit! Which yo me outweighs that a but cringy to say the least question she asked which she has always been known and even expected to ask!! But it was dealt with! And actually RM himself brought up that very cringy question or at least the 'hook up" part the next year at the BBMAS during an interview straight from there to Ellen's show!! RM even said thanks to you everyone in Korea knows what hook up means! Haha! It could even have been a bit of a dig on RM's part, but I really don't believe Ellen ever meant anything by it. But I do agree it wasn't the best question and so inappropriate to be sure!

That clip of Jimin & Tae was actually a VCR which that was made for part of the broadcasted Comeback show BTS made early 2018. A few of the older clips shown were actually from AHL (american hustle life) which I urge you guys to see on patreon! It's only an 8 part series. That series was so good so worth seeing! An absolute must see!! The only really cringy, but more then that, rather disturbing and not appropriate, & just wrong for so many different reasons is from the first episode! Mind you Kookie was just about yo turn 16. I believe he was even just 15. There is another episode where they were disrespected by someone that they got rid of right afterwards which was equally disturbing & upsetting to see. Just see it yourself and you'll know what I mean! But other then those two incidents the whole AHL is so worth seeing! I so recommend it!! As far as studying English Jungkook tries when he puts himself into it. He always talks about all the things he really sincerely means to do but his follow through isn't always that good! Tae, in most of the scenes is memorizing, or at least trying to memorize his part if the interviewer asks a question that would apply to the answer he already just memorized as is many of the others in those scenes! Jimin is the one who is a secret 'closet studier' who RM outed in a vlive they did where RM said that he caught & saw Jimin actually studying English on the plane while everyone else was sleeping in the middle of the night and woke up to see Jimin still studying! Jimin said the reason he wants to learn English so much is that he wants to take some of the burden away from RM!! Hobi has said the same thing and as we can see his English is really getting better & better as well! It just must be so hard for them to transition from Korean to English considering so much is in reverse and certain letters consonants don't even exist in the Korean language! That's why Japanese is easier to learn. Both RM & Jimin speak it quite well. During a tv interview a commentator even said how a azide they were at how well Jimin's pronunciation and understanding was!! Well he always was the top student with honors throughout his schooling getting perfect scores and was class president for 9 years as well!!

I get your feelings it's so natural to be frustrated in these moments but yeah sometimes it's not worth the energy. Also, I remember that huck up question many armys weren't happy about it I'm happy the boys laughed it out and didn't take it seriously.

Hobi's english is really good, and Yoongi can understand a lot but is shy about speaking it and Kookie's has improved massively over the last year. Jin always wings it too.

Im glad you guys are doing daily videos again. I always look forward to your videos. BTS's english keeps improving. Im so proud of them. They have funny moments when they speak english too. Definitely watch both rookie king and american hustle life. AHL really helped them learn the history of hiphop even though there was a lot of cringe parts.

also with that ellen question i was disappointed in it as well. but, i was kind of anticipating something like that at the same time... she does tend to tease her guests, particularly young and single ones on if they are dating and if they arent, why not. and its always kind of in a playful way. but i think with bts its a very risky thing to do and i would never do that in her position because of how much they keep that stuff under wraps in the kpop world. but, i dont think she knows much about kpop although she continues to have kpop artists come to her show... and probably knows nothing about them, sadly. I get weird vibes from her that shes not that informed about the korean groups she has on her show, also not sure if you saw that weird comment about the music video (thank god our girl Halsey is humble and has our back)

it's okay to get defensive or even upset/annoyed at ellen's question... a lot of armys (counting myself) got upset at their interview in the uk cause the old dude kind of were making the boys uncomfortable and you could see it that's why most of the interviews in the us ask them dumb questions so don't feel weird or bad for talking about your feelings it's understandable hehe anyways thank you for uploading often 💜

Y'all are so right about the interview questions... Ellen also told them that their song DNA wasn't right. Like the lyrics wasn't REALLY talking about DNA....You could see the looks from RM and Suga....WOW... I know RM wanted to say something BUT they have so much and show so much respect for their elders IMO It was a BOW out moment.. And YES I was PEEVED at the iheart radio interview IDC if he was reading questions... when he saw that one he should've known about their work ethics. Yes I'm glad he apologized BUT I don't want BTS to ever go on iheart radio AGAIN!!

I think they're all pretty good with English but they get nervous speaking it in front of a native speaker. Hobi's English has grown so much because he's not really shy about making mistakes. I listened to him do an English interview when he was promoting chicken noodle soup and he sounded really good.

The scene of tae and jimin was from BTS comeback show 2018 that I requested part 1 and 2. you will see very funny videos of the members throughout the whole thing. It is quite long over an hour but the whole thing is worth it, you can skip performances that you've already watched too 💜

the clip tae learned english with jimin is from their comeback show (but i forgot which album comeback). when they made cb they usually have special show on mnet, performing the songs for the first time and also theres some of clips their daily activities were added. and for jimin and tae they went to comics cafe together, reading comics, resting, eating just like normal ppl, RM went to shopping, jin and jyeop playing tennis, jk edited video and suga...sleeping. excuse my english, it's not my first language.

I know it’s hard guys, but try not to get so triggered about silly questions, when host gets backlash when interviewing bts all we are gonna get is that people are afraid of interviewing them, besides bighit reviews what questions they can ask, that’s why they get asked the same thing over and over again. In Ellen’s case I think she was trying to get them of guard because all the answers were rehearsed, the boys had fun, and they returned to the show.
