Buakaw's legendary switch kick won him most of the fights throughout his rise as a kickboxing champion. This is the most comprehensive guide and blueprint of Buakaw's switch kick on the internet.

I was wondering why you were talking about Buakaw's switch kick at the beginning of the video. Casual Muay Thai pratice here, wasn't so sure about the name of this technique but I mostly knew what to expect. The more you talked, the more I was finally able to understand and see his kick. His movements are so precise that you don't see the loading phase. I can't imagine what this would feel like being his opponent! As Saenchai mentioned Buakaw is an artist of femur. Thanks for this one, I have discovered a side from Buakaw that I wasn't aware of. I could see but wasn't able to understand the finesse behind it!

It is so strange to watch this man in the ring and then watch him with freinds, family and villagers. He changes his personality completely. I often watch how he could take advantage of a situation when he fights but chooses not to. He fights by the rules and stays with that and as for me that is pertinent.

WIth greatest respect to Mr. Buakaw, Mr.Buakaw must have been informed opf the speed differential, we had been taught some decades ago, the speed of attack, say 0.15sec is still shorterter the defence, still above som 0.2s! The lesson all Karate instructors are taught almost all over the world. The same applies to kiccks if applied at a semi-direct reach, i.e. knee or high speed round kick,: IN sum, in my humble practice over 3 decades in martial arts, there is no-one, who can parry it. Only to show the reason , why mr. Buakaw, with all repect of min, too, has managed to win the bouts. Best regards, Paul, 69, Europe,

🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 00:00:17 *🥊 Buakaw's switch kick is highly effective due to its finesse, precision, and power, making it difficult for opponents to defend despite its predictability.* 00:00:46 *🛡️ The common misconception that Buakaw relies solely on power is debunked by his proven technical skill, as praised by fellow fighter Saenchai.* 00:01:47 *🌟 Buakaw's switch kick technique catapulted him to stardom early in his career, illustrating its effectiveness and importance in his arsenal.* 00:02:14 *🧩 Hybrid Muay Thai, a blend of traditional Muay Thai and boxing, allows Buakaw to effectively compete in kickboxing by being a triple threat.* 00:03:17 *🕺 Buakaw's footwork is distinct from his kickboxing counterparts, using a more squared stance that aids in controlling the center line with his techniques.* 00:04:38 *🏆 Early in his career, Buakaw's dominance was largely due to his left-sided techniques, which proved highly effective and damaging.* 00:05:27 *🎯 Switch kicks target multiple areas including forearms, shoulders, and the head, making them versatile and hard to counter.* 00:07:52 *🔧 Understanding different switch variations helps Buakaw adapt his kicks based on the fight scenario, enhancing his effectiveness.* 00:10:20 *🎲 Buakaw incorporates footwork to disguise his switches, making them unpredictable and difficult for opponents to read.* 00:14:22 *🔄 By stepping off the center line, Buakaw avoids potential counters while maximizing the power of his roundhouse kicks.* 00:17:45 *💪 The biomechanics of Buakaw's switch kick involves precise control over body posture, leg drive, and arm swing to maximize power and effectiveness.* 00:22:36 *📚 This comprehensive breakdown demonstrates how Buakaw's mastery of switch kicks and strategic use of the long guard have made him a dominant force in the ring.* Made with HARPA AI

why do you call it switch kick? Switch kick is when you change stance from left to right or right to left and then kick with your back leg. What buakaw does is standard roundhouse kick to the head nothing is switched there, you can often see a simple roundhouse kick from front leg to the head or body.
@luiseduardo1458
@luiseduardo1458 27 дней назад
He uses both switch kick and non switch kick, the switch kick you swap your feets as fast as possible to land a long kick, and the non switch kick is often used for close range PS: Sorry for the bad english, that is my second language and I'm still learning it
@MrMakosi

@milenakupiec1839
@milenakupiec1839 27 дней назад
It’s called a switch kick because if you’re orthodox you’d use your right leg to throw a kick naturally. So if you’re kicking with your left you’re effectively switching stances. It may not be obvious because you’re switching the feet really fast. But you can also throw a switch kick with simply stepping forward with your right leg instead of doing the typical switch.
