Unique layout and features. Some impressive solutions. Probably the most "home-like" details in one collection. This isn't a cold, multiple units, factory design. This is built for Bubba. It's his home.
Like the set up because its different then most. Also like his faucet set. I'd add another plastic dresser and put a top on it. Be a table or smdesk. The little guy Roxie is adorable. Perfect size for camping too. Also like the water protection and the fact he has two alarms. Got allot of ideas from his.
I think someday you all hosting a cargo conversion build meet up would be fantastic!! Have fun living!! Btw... you should trademark your "We're not camping, we're living!!" Slogan!!
You're doing a great job covering these cargo conversions. I see your channel is growing every day. You know it, but I want tell you you got a great voice.
Looks like a very comfortable conversion.... The pupdog is adorable. I have 2 dogs and a cat so i always zero in on the animals people have. ha! ...Bill you do an awesome job interviewing folks!
New subscriber. Enjoyed seeing that conversion and the neat things he's done to his cargo trailer. Like your idea of a conversion get together. Have one myself. BTW. Went back and looked at your conversion and Absolutely love it. Great job 👍
Another great video. Hope to see you out and about. I live in a van mostly around Arkansas. But i do travel some to s.w and oregon Colorado. Looking at one of the wee roll trailers. But it's still in the planning stage. But videos like this are sure pushing me towards going for it. I have an 1998 dodge 3500 1 ton van so towing is not a problem. Again love y'alls videos very informative.
We decided to go with a tankless on-demand water heater for our build. There are pro's & con's but the pro's outweighed the con's for how we plan to use the trailer.
Enjoyed walk through and so glad your foot is coming along had cataract surgery yesterday I’m doing great can’t wait for next video ❤️❤️❤️⭕️❌⭕️❌⭕️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Laura. The foot is healing at an amazing rate. Even the doctors are amazed. I was prepared for at least 4 more weeks of IV antibiotics, but the infusion doctor said today if all goes well, I'll be off in 2 weeks.
How can a person contact Bubba? He covered so many details such as the waterproofing and the battery setup that I'd like to get his ideas about a couple of things. Thanks. Great video!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I AM PLANING ON GETTING A 7 BY 14. DID YOU CHECK OUT THE BENEFITS OF MORINGA. YOU & DEB NEED TO BE TAKING IT .IT WOULD HELP YOUR FOOT OUT ALOT.
I love Bubba! I have the same American flag lanyard that I keep my trailer keys on for my little cargo... Lol 😂 I'm jealous he can stand up because I'm 5'10" and my cargo is only 5' 7" interior height which is starting to drive me crazy having to hunch over when I'm inside 😜
@@billanddeb small update, I was inspired to buy a larger cargo trailer, so I can now stand up like a normal human! It's a 6x12 V-nose single axle w/ramp door for loading my dirt bikes and I've been having a blast outfitting it for camping. Bought a rear door magnetic bug screen just like Bubba has and I found an RV shower pan for only $40 that fits perfectly into the 45° angle of the V-nose for an interior stand up shower I'm gonna install. 👌🏼 😊
The Impromptu Rendezvous will be at Lost Bridge North campground on Beaver Lake in Nw Arkansas May 1st through May 15th. You can simply Google "Lost Bridge North campground Garfield Arkansas" and the website will pop up. It's a Corp of Engineer campground. We Highly recommend you make your reservation for your spot well in advance. Fees are $20 per night. All sites have 30 amp power. No water at each site but there are hydrants throughout the park to fill your fresh water tank, and there is a dump station. This is not an "organized" event. It's simply an open invitation for a meet and great and sharing ideas.
Are you guys using a vapor barrier between the metal and your foam backing insulation? Or any form of vapor barrier? Temperatures are Dippin low and the condensation season is upon us! But hey it won't be long before we don't have to use ant killer spray around the tires, tongue Jack and the cord going to the trailer!
We did not on ours. We've been through winter weather with no condensation issues whatsoever. We are "plugged in" all the time. Our only source of heat is a 1000 watt in wall 120 volt electric heater. At 9° with wind chills at -3° we easily maintained 75 to 80° inside with humidity levels in the mid 30% range, and again, no condensation issues at all. In another life, I owned an insulation company. In the old days city code required a vapor barrier between the insulated walls and the sheet rock. A few years later, we found moister would form between the vapor barrier and the sheetrock especially in homes heated with natural gas. In some homes, the condensation that formed between the vapor barrier and sheetrock created mold. As a result, codes were changed. Now, the "vapor barrier" is a sheeting installed on the exterior side of the studded walls with no vapor barrier between the insulation and sheetrock. Many told me during my build I needed to include a vapor barrier, but my opinion is, the walls need to "breathe" to a certain extent. Consequently, I did not install a vapor barrier and so far, no condensation issues at all, in winter and summer weather. Many disagree. I guess we'll see over the long term.
@@billanddeb ... In my 6x12 I have one inch foil faced insulation in my ceiling and walls and half inch in my floor. The walls are covered with quarter-inch plywood but however the ceiling I left open but I taped all the seams to the ribs of the roof of the trailer. I seem to get condensation everywhere there is a metal support rib going across the trailer only in colder weather. Walls and floor are fine but they are covered with wood so I can't tell really what's going on behind them...next project lol. ** Also if anybody is having trouble with reception in their trailer get a booster they are a lifesaver! ... Great vids!
In ours we went with 2 layers of foam board insulation. The first layer (1 inch) between the metal studs. Then we ran 1×3 3/4 inch thick furring strips horizontally spaced around 18 inches apart then 3/4 inch foam board in between the furring strips. We did that on the walls and the ceiling. Maybe since the metal studs are covered with foam board insulation is the reason we don't have any condensation issues. So far so good. We'll see how it goes with the upcoming winter weather. This will be our first "full winter" in the Conversion. Fortunately, here in NW Arkansas, winters for the most part are relatively mild. We'll have maybe 2 weeks when it's really cold and maybe one decent snow. Rest of the time, daytime temps in the mid 40s to 50s, with nighttime temps in the mid to upper 20s. Let's hope this one doesn't surprise us.😁
There is a big difference between electric heat and propane heat. Covering the studs (or “rails”) with insulation helps prevent “conduction”. Foil only reflects “radiant” heat.
@@billanddeb oh sorry about that, I meant it as a joke. Maybe I should have said “that’s about the only place on this planet where you want to as a guy named bubba about his back door”. Just being funny- trying Great videos and cool build. Your video(s) have encouraged me to go into business converting trailers!!
Lol. No worries. We do get a few "trolls" commenting from time to time, and sometimes it's a little difficult to differentiate between purely innocent comments and trolls. We are flattered that we've inspired you to go into business. We might be doing a new build ourselves in the near future, and, if we do, we'll be incorporating some new and interesting features we learned about while doing walk thru vids on other builds. Stay tuned.
@@billanddeb oh right, I really didn’t think about trolls or the sorts. Sorry to hear that. Well it’s really cool what you guys did/are doing. Would you be available to talk some time about what you are doing on your next build? My email is: ApexConversion@gmail.com
@@garylantz3322 sure. First we have to make certain the next build will actually happen. We would be specing ours out a little different than the traditional cargo trailer. Some news I got today was it might be as much as 90 days or more before the manufacturer would be able to build our trailer due to material shortages. If that's the case, we will be instead making a few modifications/improvements on our existing trailer. If we end up modifying this one instead, we're certain you'll find that interesting as well.
You probably don't read comments on old videos, but I feel compelled to give you some constructive criticism. You are way too close to everything when you record the inside of the trailers. Also if you haven't already, buy a wind muff for your microphone please, they are cheap.
