Thinking about getting a Bubble Tip Anemone? Landon walks through everything you need to know in order to make sure that it is the right anemone for you, your tank, and your fish!
they had something there the other day that they were calling a haitian reef anemone, but I am pretty sure it was not, but I dont know what it was... I do know it was quite iridescent/rainbowish even in the harsh white lighting there...
In the DFW area they are running a minimum of 200 bucks for small ones about 2-3 inches and 250-300 for larger 4-6 inch ones especially if its one of the higher demand color morphes such as Sherman, Colorado, Black widows or Rainbows.
$25 per 3 inch Bubble Tip Nems in my local area private reef aquarist who experienced splits. Best 2 look into those before the retailers cuz their typically cheaper.
The clownfish hosting the anemone because the anemone doesn't care either way. The clowns choose which anemone to host and the anemone is along just for the ride.
Bro hook a brother up!! That's a awesome price!! That must be were a lot of these fish stores in the US are like he said is a $100+ I've seen them $60 on another utubers channel in S California which thought was a great price which originally got me wanting atleast 1 for my pair of Saddleback Clowns but damn $5!?!?! Wow!!!
Bubble Tip Anemones, Carpet Anemones, Long Tentacle Anemones, Cleaner Shrimp, Powder Blue Tangs, Clarkii Clowns, Bicolor Blenny, Convict Tang, Clown Tang, Purple Tang and Lots of Wrasse Species are found here hence the low price in the Local market :) . All of the above things are less than $20 here. But with shipping and other costs prices go sky high when they reach the States. You have lots of reef equipment available readily which i think is much better than livestock prices ;) :)
@@vishwajayaratne5514 oh most definitely we got some beautiful reefs here in The Florida Keys I live about 2-300 miles from. Got a couple boats go there a lot with my 2 little boys and gf. We head to the Bahamas snorkeling, fishing, jet skis. Sometimes I get a couple fish, shrimp, some bait fish for another tank to feed the Lion Fish. Those reefs here are very protected. Very illegal to take coarl not sure about anenome but I wouldn't take it if they were. I'd prefer buying them though the fish trade.🤣 I was just messing with I know the shipping wld make it just as expensive. Just thought that's a great deal my man $5 even under $20. Love hearing about places I probably will never go with work, kid's, life basically. You're area has some beautiful beaches there I see!! Stay safe my man hopefully everything's going great on you're side of the world!! 🤙✌️
I noticed that the clowns in the nano are now being hosted by the anemone! Great that they went for it. I saw your video about strategies to get them to host. Which ultimately worked for you? Also, how long did it take for your black clown to turn all black?
Great observation! Took about a month to get my black one to host it. The orange clown still doesn’t fully host the anemone because we got it fully grown (it’s about 4 years old), so I don’t think he ever had an anemone in his previous tanks. Just giving the black clown time to get used to it helped the most, but zoning it off to get it closer to the anemone helped a lot too!
