as a German the name Bubi is kinda weird... 😅 the German word for boy is "Junge" or the kinda old-fashioned word "Bub" and the diminutive form of "Bub" is either "Bübchen" or sometimes "Bubi" ... so it would mean something like >small boy< (not very masculine 🤣) there is also the compound word "Milchbubi" (literally: little milk boy) that would probably be translated into english as milksop, which is basically a weakling, wimp, wuss, etc.
