I've owned and carried a Buck 110 for nearly my entire adult life, but it finally went missing after a hasty bug-out to avoid a nasty storm that shut down last fall's elk hunt. So, after a lot of thought, I decided to replace it with a fixed blade and started looking around. The Special was far too big, however. I am now the proud owner of a Buck 192 Vanguard with walnut handle. This knife is incredibly gorgeous, well balanced, and well made with a full tang blade in a solid hand. Fits perfectly in my hand, and I love the fact that it has a guard to keep my hand from slipping in a tough field dress operation - which the 110 doesn't. I strongly encourage you to review the Vanguard next! PS - I also bought a lightweight Hunter 110BKSLT just to have the same folding blade but in a much lighter (nylon) handle.

Look for the Buck 186. A 110 with Ti handles and pocket clip and hex key for disassembly. Drooled over this in the '80s. Innovative as all else.

Own and edc a Buck 110 for years now. I have field dressed deer and other game, prepared feather sticks, and use it for numerous edc tasks, including removing a splinter from my hand. FYI, anyone who knows the 110 can easily one hand open it without adding unnecessary thumb studs and have been doing so for decades.

From the company that invented the back lock arguably one of the strongest locks still proven to this day . I inherited mine side ways from My uncle,my fathers sister had married him years early but he got posted to the Holy Loch nuke submarine base on the River Clyde Estuary ,he was an officer on the USS Hunley a Trident submarine support vessel. When the US pulled out of Scotland he got shipped back to South carolina . He said he was giving it to him because I made him the best cups of coffee, militery men don't show their feelings but I felt the love. Lol

@@IReachInToTheSky Buck Knives primarily manufactures sport and field knives and is credited with inventing the "folding hunting knife" and popularizing it to such a degree that the term "buck knife" has become synonymous with folding lockback knives, including those made by other manufacturers.

WHY WOULD YOU DO A REVIEW OFF THE MOST CLASSIC KNIFE OF ALL TIMES WITH AN AFTER MARKET ATTACHED TO IT?
@RockyMountainEDC

Because the knife is the same knife with or without a small aftermarket attachment. Thanks for watching
