I'm here because of the new Prime series Fallout. My 92 yr old mom is watching it with me the music in it is bringing back so many great memories for her.
@vitorguerreiro3902 that's probably what's so good about the TV show, it's not some spinoff that's absolutely useless to the lore or an alternate universe (halo TV show), but it's a Canon show that acually moves the universe forward
I'm young n' built a cigar box banjo because of fallout songs(im poor so i dont want to spend money on my hobbies); I started listening to the carter family and the dillards. The cigar box brand was "Excalibur" like the sword and some spanish words( found the box in my dads garage), and I just used scrap metal in my yard like you would in fallout and I bought banjo strings for five bucks. It cost a me a day and five bucks to make one narly sounding banjo. Haven't figured out my fretz yet; so far i just bent some long staples around the neck that I can adjust incase it's not where I want them.
@@the_lundegaard That's a myth that Bethesda has debunked. It started from a comment made like 10 years ago on Reddit where someone said the thumbs up probably came from the rule of thumb. But Bethesda has confirmed that they are not related.
It always fascinates me when I hear a song pair so well with a movie/show. There's something about the way that episode in Fallout ended with this song that really made me feel some kinda way to where I'm now here searching and downloading this song for future listening pleasure 😄
Did you know long ago the song, "It's a wonderful world" was the most popular theme song associated with the end of the world..lol. I'm surprised it's not in the Fallout series.
I know right, I knew when I heard Walton Goggins was playing the ghoul I’d like his character even before I saw the show, but still he’s definitely one badass MF lol
A lot of people who watched Hee Haw didn’t realize that Buck was a major country star going back to the 50’s. They only saw the “goofy” side of him as Roy Clark’s sidekick. The Buckaroos were a great band.
Man you nailed that, great musicians indeed. Always loved when Buck was on our black & white TV.. now 66, man he still sounds so good.. Loved the respect he got when Dwight came down the road to. Talented he was.
@@drummhed83 that’s right 🥹& I too grew up with parents always watching the good ole TV shows , I miss those days tbh ❤️ My parents were born in 1925-29 Momma played all musical instruments,& There was always either live music going at Our old farm house or the Victrola ~ or radio playing . Always . 💙🎶🎶🎶🎶
Yes, it is sad. It's strange how tunes are played at bad situations in movies. Like the song, "It's a wonderful world" is the most associated with the end of the world..lol
@@mlody_bolid the Fallout games in general are sad and depressing when you think about it. It very well could be the future of the world soon if current trends continue...lol
@@zanzikar7 Well, let's hope that the government aren't bold enough to propose experiments towards their own people and make a profit out of it then lmao
2023, 19 years old, love listening to Buck, Don and Merle, and all that wonderful generation of country music that was created. My tattoo ‘Together Again’ the Buck Owens song in memory of my Nan and grandad who met through listening and playing these wonderful songs reminds me of them, who are now together again ❤️ 🕊️
Buck Owens and Ringo teamed up for a new version of “ Act Naturally” in 1989. The single peaked at number 27 on the US Billboard Hot Country chart. I love Buck and Ringo’s version.
In his autobiography, Buck stated that, even before this, a Capitol exec telling him that the Beatles wanted all of his records was one one of the high points of his career.
i'm a friend with Buck Meyers in Seattle. His dad was 'Mike Meyers (and the Mustangs'), who were known as the 'Buckeroos' when playing with Buck Owens band. Buck Meyers was named after Buck Owens. Buck Meyers worked at a Dodge store on Lake City Way, Seattle and sold Nancy Wilson (of Heart) a new Caravan. Had her sign his guitar, too. Said she was fantastic to meet.
I'm Sicilian and I've been listening to country music for several years. Unfortunately this type of music is not listened to, it is never broadcast in Italy on the radio, in clubs and on TV, only the usual rap, pop and commercial music, the culture is missing. My favorite artists are Don Williams, George Strait, Marty Robbins, Glen Campbell, Dwight Yoakam, Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare, Kathy Mattea, Jerry Reed, Jeff Walker. and I like singing this music. I acquired several vinyl records from the era overseas. Who are your favorite country artists?
26 years old and buck owens is the only one to get me up in the morning. I saw dwight yoakam live a few years ago and he made a beautiful tribute to good ol buck owens. Rest in peace.
@@TheGtagtr why not they got people that listen to Beethoven and Bach and all that crap and that's like 300 years old I'd rather listen to Old buck I'm 52 I grew up listening to Buck Owens
WOW your mother must have enjoyed that one of a kind dance with a country boy. My mom married my dad not knowing he was a bullrider and was shock amd scared to death when she would watch him ride them bulls she got herself a real cowboy
@@MrMalicious5 I agree, it's structured and performed much like rap or pop, but these record labels think just because the singer has a twang and there's a guitar and some lyrics about trucks or beer in it, that it's "country".
Love this by Buck and by Ringo and the Beatles. I have a Buck Owens box set which has a version of Buck and Ringo doing a duet of Act Naturally in 1989!
I feel old. I’d completely forgotten this song until I heard it on Fallout. Weird how that happens. You don’t hear a song for decades, then hear it once and can just start singing along again after not thinking about it for 20 years.
When I was a kid growing up in the 80s in Dallas, Texas there was a tv station that played old movies on the weekends. In their promos to tell us what movies they were playing on the weekend they would play this song in the background, and they were always the same movies like Repo Man, and The Warriors and Cheech and Chong but we watched anyway. Such great memories. Thanks Buck.
nine years old sitting in the passengers seat of a old black n white Mac truck going full speed down hill at 80 miles an hour...with my big bearded father singing this song at the top of his voice over that load rattling Mac and the squawk of the C.B radio...R.I.P POPS AKA WILD BILL!
I'm here because of Fallout like most others. Hearing this unlocked very old memories I'd forgotten. Never realized it was Buck Owens my Grandmother listened to on repeat when I was a kid.
Love you Buck Owens ! Loved the video of him and Ringo doing Ringo's song. I saw Buck twice in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will always love him. RIP Buck.
Highly suggest you go check out Dwight yoakam then, as Buck Owens is like his idol growing up and who he modeled his music after. Little bit more modern taste as well, just a heads up
@@CesareVesdani Not really, I'm new here on RU-vid I will be very happy to be your friend if you don't mind, I'm Dennis Raymond from Los Angeles California if I may ask where are you from?
First heard this song a long while ago because of the beatles performance by ringo starr. Since then it really got an special place in my heart... To me it sounds so fit to the ironies of life, as an cinema student and worker of the movie industry myself. Hearing it on that episode of fallout, a series i'm a great fan of sure set some tears to my eye! Wether those tears were joy or irony i'm yet to figure.
I am in my late 20’s and i grew up far far away from this kind of music (from Nepal). Still Here I am dancing on every country song i hear, like this is in my blood
Im here because i love buck owens and i started a new job, i fixed a dump truck an old 78 ford L8000 installed a new master switch, air dryer, slack adjusters, and compressor, i hooked it up turned the key and buck owens was playing iver those old speakers
Hello 👋 Little. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I’m Mark Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
I'm here for that, and the Fallout show made me want to listen again. I used to listen with my grandparents. I made myself a Buck Owens compilation CD years ago. Love the old Country & Western singers. :)
This song remind me of my son when he was a 4 grade and he won the talent show back in 1997. I miss son he pass in December 2018. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I love this song.....♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
