I will never forget this tv series that i love when i was a kid. How time flies......i already have white hair now but still love this series. I don't know why i am emotional every time i hear this song....maybe because it reminds me of my youth and my whole family where everyone was alive and healthy......Time will never comes back so enjoy every minute and seconds specially to your love ones.....
One of the best parts of growing up was viewing Buck Rogers. I had all the toys as well. Good, clean, action adventure for kids...unlike the crap that passes for entertainment today.
I had this on Cassette. I would lay on the merry-go-round at my school for hours and listen to this song. Stare into the sky and wonder what it would be like to hang out with Buck in the 25th Century. He replied to a post I made on Facebook, I felt like a little kid again. :)
This song reminds me of the greatest thing of all. Hope. We don't know what lies ahead for us in this respect. Going through a pandemic. Has left more questions.
The lyrics are really powerful for a young person, "what am, who am what will I be? Where am I going and what will I see?" All the questions we have as teens and the wonder fo shows like Buck Rogers, Star Trek, Star Wars and all the genre that imagined big.
Far beyond the world I've known, far beyond my time What am I, who am I, what will I be? Where am I going and what will I see? Searching my mind for some truths to reveal What thoughts are fantasy, what memories real? Long before this life of mine, long before this time What was there, who cared to make it begin? Is it forever or will it all end? Searching my past for the things that I've seen Is it my life or just something I dreamed? (Instrumental) Far beyond this world I've known, far beyond my time What kind of world am I going to find? Will it be real or just all in my mind? What am I, who am I, what will I be? Where am I going and what will I see?
I got to meat them in person many years ago at a SCIFI convention. They are two of the coolest and kinds people. They really took the time to actually talk to me. Very great full for that amazing experience.
This song actually plays at the beginning of the rarely-seen Buck Rogers theatrical film, which was the pilot to the series with additional footage AND a James Bond-like intro dream sequence. The dream sequence is NOT in the syndicated TV edit of the pilot. You can see the theatrical film on the DVD release of the Buck Rogers TV series and it's available on the Blu ray (Australian?) release of the TV series as well. Be aware that the Blu ray has the film encoded in standard definition, PAL format, so it screws up the pitch (higher) of the audio. The dream sequence takes place during Buck's hibernation. It's basically Buck making out with 3-4 different women, 2 of whom are Princess Ardala and Wilma Deering! That sequence takes place on a lit backdrop of the Buck Rogers logo in HOT letters. They LITERALLY got burned filming that sequence because the lights were that warm. Remember, they didn't have cool LED lights back then. These were typical stage lights and those things got hot, especially when they're lit under frosted plastic!
this is absolutely amazing, this song is one of my favorites of the time period and much more pleasing to listen to than the version they had in the tv episodes, what you did to enhance this is just....WOW!!!!
Glad you like it! I was sitting with my friend Martha Scott watching "Buck Roger's in the 25th Century" from a box set and I said to her. I think I'm gonna take that cool theme songs and enhance it to bring out the artistic beauty of it. So that is what you are listening to! Kenn
@@cinematic35 As an audio journalist Bravo on the EQ work and cleaning up the sound quality. Really brings back memories of being a young Sci Fi fan in the 70s! Putting it up on You Tube will really allow folks to listen to the song the way we heard it in the theaters for the movie release oh so long ago.

To add a bit of information, The song is called: "Suspension" sung by Kipp Lennon and indeed it is a nice song. You did a great job in enhancing it in it's original format and it sounds fantastic! Well done!
@@usmc-veteran73-77 they won't(or can't) do that the hate in hollywood is too strong. 😎🙂Word now is that Legendary are developing a Buck Rogers movie! 👍👌 Although it remains to be seen if this will be more like this or the classic Buster Crabbe serials, or even the original Armageddon 2419(yr?) novel. 🤔 But whatever the inspiration I just hope it avoids the 'reimagining' of Ron Moore Galactica/GINO, the 'subverted expectations' (ie wrong turns!) of Disney Star Wars as well as the schmaltzy soap that is New (Doctor) Who! 👎😬 We can but hope! 😎😉🙏🤞
My eyes lit up when I saw her on Star Trek Continues. Have you seen the interview Gil and Erin did? She said he has a huge sense of humor and was always joking around.
Brings back memories of being a teen and how the lyrics used to always get to that young Sci Fil fan "what am, who am what will I be? Where am I going and what will I see?" I'm glad to say that Science Fiction opened my mind to adventure and new ideas and I've seen a lot and traveled far with no regrets and grateful for early fandom which embraced all of us nerds back before being a nerd was cool!
Great to read from another "Baker". I was in my mid 20s when show was on the air. I still watch it on ME-TV every Saturday night. I loved the 70s. I'd go back and stay forever, I'd even repeat my 4 years in the United States Marine Corps 1973-1977. Stay safe and Semper Fidelis from an old Marine Sergeant, and greetings from Charleston, West Virginia, USA
It's sad that the star himself was kind of against it and that the damn studio didn't let it breath and be its own thing with the second season weirdness and trying to imitate battle star. They were idiots not to understand that the real money in these shows was not in their first run, but in syndication just as TOS made a fortune AFTER it was canceled. There could have been a lot of adventures with Buck teaching the 25th century humans about being optimistic about the future and helping them step back into the universe.
Came across this rendition of the, "BUCK ROGERS", theme by chance. I gotta say, that I REALLY LIKE this version!! GOOD JOB & THX for posting!! :-) NOTE: My only critique, is that I'm not crazy putting in the Space Vampire photo in this sequence. I'd rather see one w/Buck Rogers & Princess Ardala. BTW ... You're right. This does sound good when listening to it on headphones. One Last Thing: I wonder what Gil Gerard & Erin Gray would think of this? :-)
Nice. Sounds better the than mp3 album I bought from Amazon. Luckily (or maybe not) this song was made before the 1980s with the synth drum sounds like the Simmons SDS series drums.
I've met Erin like 10 times in Dallas TX. She is very Sweet and Wonderful Lady and yes very Hot . If I could Post photo I could prove it. Even Got Her 1967 Sports Illustrated swimsuit Edition Photo autographed
I'm looking for who sang it. Rewatching the show has been a time warp dance. Made in 1979 (NYC power grid outage and war on pinball), about 1987 (The Marian year - boosting women for Y2K), ends up in "What happened to Chicago?" and why is there SLAVERY in the 25th Century? Was that Scott Baio blowed up in the 2nd part of the first episode? Just saw the Jamie Lee Curtis episode with the really emotional robot bounty hunter. and did Gil Gerard actually throw an f-bomb? I read his lips.
She never liked Buck and thought he didn't take life seriously enough plus she had seen him try to work his charm with several women and she probably didn't want to be the next number. With Wilma it truly was a best friend scenario. It was good cause they always knew that in the end when things got tough they would always have each other's back.
I remember watching the pilot movie in the theater. The opening credits were different than the series and had this song playing. Years before Buck Rogers Erin Grey was a model and I remember in the 70s seeing her face on the can of some hair spray. Erin started a lot of young boys into puberty with all those spandex outfits of hers on the show. In the early 70s Gil Gerard was a stage actor. He did a play called "I do, I do" with a very dear friend of my parents at a theater in the DC area for quite a while. My parents met him a few times and at that time Gil was kind of an asshole. Jean-Anne, his co-star hated him and was glad when the production ended. He may have mellowed by the time Buck Rogers came around. Who knows.
Okay I thought I watched Buck Rodgers when I was a kid but I don’t remember the theme having lyrics. I live in the US was the lyric version in other markets or was it a US thing and I just forgot?
Gil Gerard was a legit tough guy, and a thousand times the actor he’s given credit for being. A better role for him would have been Captain Kirk. Where Shatner overacted, Gil would have established just the right tone. Where Shatner always seemed like he was play-fighting, Gil would have brought an intensity and legitimacy Shatner never could.
But we would have gotten a different Spock. Lennard Nemoy orignaly played Spock with a little emotion to play off Capt Pike's seriousness. But when Nemoy saw how Shatner was, he decided to play Spock very seriously/ non emotional to bring some gravity to balance Shatner out. So if Gil played Capt Kirk we might have gotten a more emotional Spock and Star Trek would not have been as big a hit as it was. Yes I do believe it was the uniqueness of Spock that gave the show its appeal beyond and above the writing.
