It's called improvisation. A lot of great guitarists do it. It means you don't just get the exact same performance every time which makes it even better.
I'm saying it right from the start. This solo is easily in my top 5 favorite by the man. Fuck, maybe my favorite ever. Only time will tell. This is the 1st time I've heard this tune & it caught me right away. I sat there with my mouth open in amazement watching the master wield his magical axe into guitar ectasy!!! This is GREAT!!!!
I love how he makes up a bunch of random shit on his own songs. It's like he doesn't even care what he does. And that's one of the many reasons Why I see this guy as THE best. He's so famous he can fuck around all he wants now. BUCKETHEAD ARMY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, I was blown away by this song. Beautiful melody that makes me cry and then ripping solos that gives me the eye rolling braingasm goodness! Wasn't this from his last show before he took a 4 year hiatus from touring? You can see his back brace under his coat at at others during that tour. Nice close ups in this too.
Solo on stage. He looked to use an iPod for his backup. To my knowledge, he records his own backtracks (likely plays all the instruments) and plays that back while he plays live over it.
Depends on the songs any praxis(brain does the drums on the album/backing track for them and he plays like 4 praxis songs live everytime) or deli creeps(pitchface plays the drums) songs he plays have drummers which he plays a few at all of his shows also Brain worked on alot of albums with him like monsters and robots( he usually plays atleast 3-6 songs off that album) colma (he plays a few off that album) THE cuckoo clocks of hell. And buckethead plays like 8 songs off giant robot and theres 3 different drummers on that album pitchface, jerome brailey, and ted parsons so alot of his songs especially the ones he plays live have drummers he does tour with brain and pitchface occasionally and a bass player
+~Delevity~ buckethad like a horror film style,you can see a search a rains.dk web site i'm buy a one.And you can see asos.com it's call rain coat(sorry for english)
This is an amazing video really, because he's playing this song for the first time, and he's wearing an awesome looking coat that i've never seen before.
Mistakes?! :) Can a genius make mistakes? IMHO BH plays each times as if it an original performance so each one is unique. And, he has been known to play "off-key" (to our ears anyway) on purpose, so I don't believe he is making mistakes although it might sound that way. It's good to see him performing after his back surgery, and I appreciate the post but the recorded version sounds so much better. Again, thanks for the post!
@@kakemannlikmann6664 in 2017 he had brain and brewer for that smaller tour, he hasnt had a live band since then, and befirehand it was the first 4 shows of the 2011 tour and before that it was 2000-2006. In the 90s he played a few shows with backing tracks but mostly with a live band
IF IT WERE SOME OTHER LESSER GUITARIST, WHICH WOULD BE JUST ABOUT ANYBODY, THEY'D CALL THIS AN EPIC PERFORMANCE. HE CAN'T BE INTERGALACTIC WITH EVERY SONG HE HAS WRITTEN AND/OR PLAYED. THIS ONE SORT OF SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF GUYS ARE CAPABLE OF PLAYING. IT'S GOOD, BUT FOR HIM IT'S A BIT OF LET DOWN. I'VE BEEN SPOILED ALREADY. I HAVE TO REMEMBER HE'S A HUMAN BEING........SOME OF THE TIME. I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL HE HS ARE THOSE MARSHALL SPEAKERS AND A DRUMMER WHO, TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, EVEN THOUGH HE JUST NEEDS TO KEEP A BEAT, WHICH HE DOES AND NOT TRY AND DROWN OUT BUCKETHEAD, SOUNDS A BIT CHEESEY.. NEW SET OF DRUMS OR SOMETHING EVEN THOUGH THE PERFORMENCES ARE NOT MEANT TO SHOWCASE THE DRUMMER. NO BUDDY RICH-LIKE SOLOS. PALEEZE. THAT WOULD NOT WORK.
