Relying on translational research and close collaborations with Dr. McTigue and her lab, we examine whether activitydependent rehabilitation in both mice and humans regulates white matter changes in chronic spinal cord injury. Ourintervention is novel and focuses on eccentric motor control to drive complex skill learning and integration of supraspinal
and afferent systems. We measure myelin plasticity using reporter genes in mice and MRI techniques in humans
