@@bernardwallace435 I disagree! Socrates had used to talk more and his audience listen more. And He was what we actually know. Some people have a lot to say but don't have synthesis capability. So those people use to talk more, with more details and more eloquence. Say "those that talk the most have the least to say" is same thing to say that the silence is the perfect meaning of intelligence. Is relative.
I disagree! My mane is Helder. If I scream that my name is Helder (which it really is) in front of a crowd that says quietly that I am not Helder, am I wrong? Is relative!
Hélder Mateus false Socrates was a phony he learned from Africans in the mystery schools in Africa. Greek philosophy is stolen ancient Egyptian philosophy
Ebro lost all of my respect after watching this. Buckshot is a legend, point blank period. Buckshot kept his composure throughout this entire interview. Reality is the whole BCC has a longer reach than Ebro will ever know.
First of all... WHO THE FUCK IS EBRO?????? When Who Got the Props dropped, where the fuck was Ebro? For those, who this convo flew over ya heads, Ebro was addressing Buck like he doesn't have a Brand. That's mad disrespectful and I don't like that. No wonder I haven't listened to the radio in like 15 years. To many outsiders have infiltrated "our" thing called Hip Hop and turned it into there thing. This is why you have the look, sound, feel and presence of all this bullshit today. It was better when it was broke and raw street. If you can't understand that, you simply are not from the essence. Simple as that.
You know that's why alot of white people in the south and people in America have issues with the thought of black people. Alot of black people try to stamp their name on stuff. While yes sure black people may have started it, still. You don't see white people claiming stuff out of the blue. I picked my words well because ya not all black people are like that. Now I see this only on RU-vid. To be clear.
Wow... Calm down! Is not because Buckshot - who I like too much (respect to all BCC) - is a legend does not mean that he can not be confronted with arguments of some one who is not legend. In debate only the arguments must be relevant. P.S.: I'm not saying his right or wrong. I'm talking only about this -----> "How is ebro even debating with a hip hop legend?"
Hélder Mateus foh stop tryna to validate people who shouldn’t have a voice on topics they don t have credentials to give an opinion on. I’m not debating with an architect about about building a house smh.
Oh gawwwwd... you have a legend sitting in front of you, don't be so damn self important. I listened to Black Moon growing up in Europe in like 94 long before I came to the US. Never heard of Ebro anyhow, for a good reason.
Ebro just disqualified himself as any kind of hip hop personality. He got nothing on Buckshot, on his career or legacy. Dude talks like he never even heard or felt the vibe of Black Moon back in the days. No one ever did it like they did.
These guys throw parties every year in Brownsville Faithfully for over 15 years feeding children families inviting people... performing.... the Boot Camp Clik is always doing something shout out to Buckshot he is really a humble dude and a businessman
E Bro was trying to act to tough lol . if Heltah Skeltah OGC or Smiff n Wessun was up there he probably got his ass put threw a wall. Props to Buck for maintaining.
Just Lord all artist have said ebro is a joke guy im from oakland ca to have friends out here u have 2 fight win lose r draw but im sure all hoods across America are the same
The Majors vs. Minors analogy is annoying as hell. In sports, you actually have to be able to play, you don't make the major leagues in baseball because of image or politics or bitches, the best players play. In rap, you don't actually be able to rap to make it to the "majors". Its not about talent.
Buck killed Ebro and got him and Cipha ready to file applications with Macy's and shit when he said, "radio, period, is a dinosaur, like is and it will be in five more minutes when my daughter could go on the internet and pick out anything she want and she don't have time to sit around the campfire of radio," lol. Look at them, emotional.
Boy times sure have changed. This type of conversation could not have gone on for this long 25 years ago. Ebro is part of that hyper sensitive, wanna be accepted-ass millennial booger snot movement.
+I AM WHAT I AM In looking at this video again, I just realized that if Buck came out himself and slapped/punched/mushed E-mo, I guess it would have been like a grown man assaulting a child. Props to Buck for keeping it on a debate level. Buck's street IQ is through the roof, because he knows not to show any signs of heat on this, because say if he did send for E-mo, and E-mo got bodied, I guess this video could be submissible as evidence in some pre-meditated shit? So Buck kept that cool aura in check! Such a smart guy, who knows what to say and what not to say while the camera is rolling.... but I cannot say that guys like you or I would have kept a cool head, haha.
ebro screaming let me finish, buts is the first one to interupt buck when hes trying to prove a point. fucking ebro always tryna play the hard roll. HA!
I'm with Buck radio is archaic. I get a headache listening to Hot 97. Same dang songs all day. I keep the radio on ESPN radio most time then I might hit 107.5 for a bit.
I'm not sure it's even the best outta BCC..and I had "who got the props" cassette single w/the yellow cover and Nervous Records logo. I love Black Moon. Dah Shining is better...imho, production wise. Buck got em all lyrically, and had hotter singles. But I liked Smiff n Wessun 1st better. Or I at least listened to it more.
Ebro is the fucking worst. "The hip-hop MC thinks he's more important than the DJ". You need both!! A good DJ makes an MC better, and a good MC can help the DJ rock the party. The basics of hip-hop, Buckshot is right.. BOTH ARE IMPORTANT.
Seng Chanthavong haha but heres the thing. the rap 90s obsessed dudes like me love WAS the mainstream!! haha wu tang, nas, ice cube, biggie, 2pac, etc may have all started in the underground like everybody comin up but them dudes WERE the mainstream! plus back then the variety was unbelievable! A solid artist like busta could give you a rah rah track like WOO ha and then come with a smooth jam like its a party for when you wanted mellow out with the ladies! now its all about party music and not even that, most of it sucks! no substance just a stupid hook! compare a song like one nation by ice cube or big poppa to like rack city and you see what i mean
I'm not really into Biggie or Pac, but I like Wu-Tang and Nas' first shit when they were coming up, but I also listened to artists who were not as mainstream like Black Moon, Bootcamp Click, The Roots, Blackstarr, Mobb Deep (when they were coming up), Big Noyd, Bone Thugs, Capone N Noreaga, Tracey Lee, Mic Geronimo, Royal Flush, The Lox, Redman, The Fugees, OutKast, AZ, and many others.
you don't think so? Most people who don't know much about 90's rap first think of Tupac or Biggie. Mobb Deep and Wu-Tang were just making a name for themselves in the 90's. And, Black Moon was huge in New York---they still are! Obviously you're not from the East Coast or were that really into the hip hop scene in the 90's. These artists are very well known, but definitely not as mainstream when they were coming up. However, HOT 97 did play their shit. I remember clearly because I was in high school during the 90's. They were featured in magazines like the Source and Vibe also.
I have so much Love & RESPECT for this real dialogue and articulation of differing view points yet how they maintain a mutual respect for eachother and their love of Hip Hop's foundations thru its current state and of the elements that have moved it along throughout its timespan.
Since when did it become cool for a program director to be shoving his face in the camera and taking all the shine? Do your f*cking job: showcasing mostly garbage music and stay behind the scenes.
DenoJoe2Def Well he sounds fine to me, maybe it's because i'm mixed like him. You are probably southern blacker than black talking bout someone don't sound black -_-...
Xavier McCloud Well if he sounds fine to you thats all that counts x. Really how a person sounds doesnt mean a damn thing. But since we both on it he sounds forced to me like he practiced it in the bathroom mirror before he got ready to go to high school. Thats not even coming from a hateful place on my end. Im sure hes a good guy. Im just stating my opinion. You can understand that right x?
Ironic how he talks about the MC trying to outshine the DJ when Hot 97 has totally diminished the power of the DJ by no longer allowing them to break records. Nationwide radio programmers have homogenized music.
I knew that was Ebro's plan when he started dissing underground hip hop. It was brilliant. I gotta admit. Now the battle of the beats is poppin and they're playing new music on the radio. Genius.
Adrian Hopkins yes, I've heard his shit with 9th Wonder. And, Sean P from Heltah Skeltah still drops shit. BUckshot just came out with a hot song with Joey Bada$$ called Flute.
Exactly, people like Pro Era and Bamz were already on through the internet. I found Bamz thru A$AP when I Told Ya dropped in like... 2011? Watch, I bet he'll play some Sir Michael Rocks and preach that he broke him.
10:39 that laugh from buck indicated his win. That laugh perfectly marked his triumph. He exposed ebro's ego beautifully, I started laughing the moment buck laughed like that.
the only reason why we like 90s music is because they took pride in theyre lyrics back then if you had wack lyrics people will make fun of you and you shit but now niggas have the stupidest lyrics and are considered good and by 90s what do you mean the beats or the lyrical awesomeness cus if its the beats aight i respect that but if its the lyric then wft why listen to someone tha has no lyrical talent and flow
Action Bronson, Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire, Flatbush Zombies, ASAP Rocky, Meyhem Lauren, Joey Badass. There's 6 good lyrical rappers (FROM NYC) that I just named offtop.
i know about them bro i dont like rocky doe except some songs lke demons and Astro Bishop Nehru HDBeenDope Dillion cooper King Critical andMad Wiz are dope ass fuck Too all From Brooklyn ...Brooklyn is in Good Place right Now Lyricism is making a Comeback into Mainstream ????
Ebro will always win the argument about radio because he is a Program Director and knows how the system works and will troll people because it is a business. HOT 97(Emmis Communications) has more money to do those "Who is Next?" shows than Power 105 who are trying to break the NY Market. Ebro wants to take credit for breaking rappers on radio because he know the Power 105 DJ are running the clubs in NY/NJ. Flex, Mister Cee and Angie are OGs, but the rest are trash.
Radio is trash these days because of the music they play and the wack artists they cater too.. Radio used to be great in the 80's and 90's... people as a masses used to like better music back then now.. was like 10 or plus male r&b acts, and female r&b acts, and hip hop acts too.. now a days, you have one female rapper at a time, handful of male hip hop acts but they all do the same is.. r&b? shoot.. you only need 3 fingers.
All of a sudden, the artist, the one with true talent, one who writes the music, picks the hook, creates the song that folks want to hear; has to, all of a sudden turn around and give the dj a shout out? Nope! Never! The dj simply spends what song it is that is popular. That don't deserve applause, it deserves nothing. You got your check. NOW sit your self down, or get a real job!
That "Bigggggg Mouth" came from something Tupac once said in an interview (i think it was MTV), they asked what he thought he would be remembered for... its documented
