There is room for EVERYBODY in music! Enjoy every style out there. I love it all! Zydeco rules in New Orleans. Go there and expect to have a a great time. … and you will.
I 1st saw Stanley in 1988, Capital Center, outside Wash DC. He opened for Eric Clapton. Buckwheat had that arena ROCKIN . . he had everybody excited. I’m from S. La. and since I took every opportunity to catch him in our area. He never disappointed . . I miss him and his live performances ! !
Rest in Peace to Stanley ‘Buckwheat Zydeco’ Dural, Jr., Ambassador of Zydeco. I have had some really great memories of seeing Buckwheat at "Tippitina's" and the "Jazz Fest" in New Orleans many times. He will be missed.
🤦🏽 I have caught the late bus!!! ... I lurv this!!.... Never been to New Orleans, but love the music vibes forever, since the 80s🥺🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽..... Cheerio from Down Under 🌺
RIP Buckwheat - You are the one who inspired me to learn the accordion!! I first saw you at the Nut festival (filbert nuts) in Springfield, Ore. about 20 years ago. Love that Cajun-Zydeco music.
Hello Y'all missing my people down south. Kicking up my boots to the zyedco music. Polo from Lafayette enjoying it very much. Remember Zydeco JOSEPH MOUNTON FM LAFAYETTE. GONE TO HEAVEN BUT HIS MUSIC LIVES ON! MISS MY COUSIN
Stanley Dural is one of Louisiana"s GREATEST ambassador's when it comes to music. The 1st time I saw him was in 1987 when he open for Eric Clapton in Wash DC . . Buckwheat had the Cap. Center rockin !! It may not be "pure zydeco" BUT he had you dancing and moving. You always made me feel proud being from La. and my Cajun roots. RIP . . Mr. Dural,
Wonderfull, smoking ,it picks you up and brings your senses alive! It will be very sad if no young ones don't carry Buckwheat's and their own style of Zydeco onwards! In Buckwheat's "Don't leave me" I was so blown away with the overall presentation, but the horn playing in this track was, without a doubt in my mind as a DJ, simply supurb!
Many a dance was ignited by Buckwheat's infectious jams. He could get folks' feet moving like no other. Rough couple of years for New Orleans musical legends...Allen Toussaint, Pete Fountain, and now Buckwheat. Rest in peace, brother. We'll keep the party going for you.
I've been at their live performance. Best performance i ever been at!! Thay killed us all - then resurrected and killed again!! And the dude with a washboard is offfff tha chain!!!!! :D
