So, What is Bud Blast? Bud blast is a term used to describe flowers that have prematurely aborted before or soon after opening that means premature bud drop off.
What Causes this premature Bud Blast in Flowers?

Additional Reasons: Chemical damage from overuse of chemical sprays like pesticides and also fertilizers. Repotting badly in wrong seasons, then air pollution is also another cause. Genetic mutation is also a rare cause. Nutritional deficiencies in soil is also another reason like like N, K, Mg, S, Fe, Zn, Mo, etc.

While taking care of the humidity, I think some care must be taken to avoid dengue mosquito to lay eggs. This I feel can be done by adding small quantity of neem oil in the water.

Aloha! Thank you for this video. The plant I am concerned about is a puakenikeni - Fagraea berteroana. It has many buds but they do not open. Instead they turn brown after a while and die. I will try your tip about removing all the buds as I don’t think the other tips apply. Hoping this helps this beautiful, fragrant plant. Thank you.

My healthy hybrid hibiscus is dropping healthy buds without having any mealy bugs issue. I am confused. Only problem is that the Plant is in red Pune soil which becomes hard if not watered daily. Nursery says not to remove soil from roots otherwise it will die which happened to one hibiscus earlier. Please guide

thanks for posting this. I bought Oleanders that had begun to flower, about 90% of the buds have since failed to ripen or flower. I think the plant was induced to flower at the nursery and it has suffered a shock in the delivery and re-planting. Would it help to prune the dormant buds and hope the plant would produce more or would this harm the plant. I can clearly see that the plant is producing new growing shots so it is developing and as it is Oleander it should flower on new shoots so would it help the new shoots to remove the dormant flower buds.

Yes pruning promotes more branching and hence more flowers. Also check pests on buds which can cause drop off. Good luck!

Using both together will make soil neutral. These plants love slightly acidic soil. Only alum or vinegar might be useful.

Hi, not necessarily but if the flowers are drying, then just removing those flowers - called dead heading preserves plant energy.

Sir, I have chilli plant and after one harvest of around a dozen of chillies, flowers come but they die and fall off. After the first harvest, I had sprayed water with neem oil and shampoo to prevent any insect attack. Has this any connection?

Make sure you have pollinator insects like bees and butterflies in your garden. Strong dose of pesticide can deter these insects which are required for pollination and fruiting.

Sir i planted 20 rajanigandha bulbs 5 months ago. All of them grown well and now spikes have come out from all plants. Lots of buds are in each spike. But the buds are decaying. The buds are not opening/growing into flowers. Each bud is decaying from the spike and getting brownish and falling down . But the plant and stem of spike are healthy. What will be the reason for the decaying of buds ? Please answer.

Overwatering and fungus possible. Provide good air circulation around them. Also add some micronutrient powder or water soluble dissolve and water.

Sir I have okra plant in Karachi Pakistan. it blooms but flowers drop without fruit after full blooming. We have fast winds here, tempreture fluctuation being hot day and cold night with humidity at night , I water it once daily moderately , cover it with net at noon time, I find some ants moving in flowers also, and some little white spots on bigger leaves of it . my hibiscus is dropping buds I brought it home from the nursery on 1st January 2018 since then it has grown to a pretty good size and also has a lot of bud 7-8 buds on every branch but these buds are yellowing and dropping off slowly first I thought improper watering but even after controlling that it dropped 2-3 buds since last week I stay in west bengal and temperature have increased a lot nowadays so it only receives sun for half a day from 12 noon to 4 or 5 cannot provide my plants tge morning sun cause it will only receive light for an hour or so our east side is blocked by houses . I feed my plant organic fertilizer ever other week and chemical ones once a month npk potash and epsom salt pests I have those little green flies under the leaves and spiders still I spray it with neem oil and occasionally imedacloprid now what is it I'm doing wrong or is the plant too young to produce bloom it's a hardy hibiscus variety possibly hybrid

Hi, perhaps tough noon sunlight with soaring temperatures. Put a piece of shade net to filter 50% sun. I see only this as a problem. Rest all you are doing a great job for the plant. All the best!
