@@toaster6701 people only really know the name from the song by Weezer. Buddy isn't too recognized for his contributions to music anymore unfortunately.
@@thedarkknight1357 true But it’s just how music is The new ones just take over the old musicians Which is why I still listen to classic rock Cause I kinda hate new pop music
@@toaster6701 i can't blame you there lol. Classic rock is still amazing and I never bothered to listen to the new really as I know it can't really compare
He had already been told of his approaching death by English recording engineer and songwriter, Joe Meek, in 1958. Meek's friend, Faud, was in charge of writing whatever messages came through during one of the sceances Meek used to hold. In the first one, Faud wrote a date, ' February 3rd '. Then a name, ' Buddy Holly '; and then finally the word ' Dies '. Jimmy Miller, a friend of Meek's, was startled, as he was convinced that the note was written in his handwriting, despite its being written by Faud. When the day, February 3rd, arrived in 1958, Joe was frantic, as he had tried to warn Holly to no avail; he even went to a Buddy Holly show in London and handed him the note Faud had written; Holly smiled and thanked him. I wonder if Holly remembered the date, and caught the plane anyway ?; or, was so dismissive, forgot it ? Meek claimed Holly came through in later sceances; that he predicted ' Telstar ' 's number 1 placing; and responded with '' See you in the charts '', when asked to what position Meek's and Mike Berry's ' Tribute to Buddy Holly ' should reach, in 1960. For any who don't know about Meek, he commited suicide by shooting himself, also killing his Landlady, Mrs. Violet Shenton, in 1967: on Feb' the 3rd.. Most UK, popular music fans should know his work, if not the name, as he helped to produce a number of famous recordings: ' Telstar ' reached No. 1 in the US & the UK.
@@1GHOSTWRITER Hello. That's all I, (think), I know. I say think, because we're all reliant aren't we upon the accurate reporting of events where we wern't present. God rest his soul.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Did y’all know that he didn’t really predict his death, he actually was with a friend and they decided to flip a coin to see who would get the flight. Sadly he won and got on the flight which crashed, killing him. His friend said later on that he should have got on the flight, because Buddy Holly was more famous and that he lives with the regret.😢😢
Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on that plane. Right before takeoff he gave his seat to the ill JP Richardson and elected to take the bus instead. Buddy joking told Waylon “ i hope your ol bus freezes up!” And Waylon joking replied “ well i hope your ol plane crashes!”
@@thatone3270Wrong, it was Buddy's guitarist Tommy Allsup who tossed the coin with Ritchie Valens. Dion was offered a seat but rejected it after hearing it costs 36 dollars since they read about how much rent costed at that time.
Buddy and Maria were separated at the time of his death, don't believe what the movie said about their relationship at that time Buddy's father told me they were separated and getting divorced

That’s not him predicting his death. I’m sure it’s someone/something trying to tell him something maybe. Or just a dream that’s coincidental. I’ve had dreams like that or similar to that. And if, God forbid I pass, it would seem like I knew to many who like hearing eerie stuff.
I heard that buddy holly and his friends made a deal and who ever lost the deal the loser would have to drive to their next destination and the winner would take an airplane because it’s quicker, and apparently buddy won the bet and he told his friend that he hoped their car brakes down, and his friend told buddy that he hoped his plane crashes as a joke and look what happened😅
BOODOODOODOODOODOODOODOO OOH WEE HOO I LOOK JUST LIKE BUDDY HOLLY OH OH AND YOU’RE MARY TYLER MOORE I DONT CARE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US ANYWAY I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT
There is a song about buddy holly the big bopper and Richie Valen and a movie about the crash too la Bamba. And the song is the day the music died or American pie
The song is called American Pie by Don McLean. There's also the movie The Buddy Holly Story but it's not as accurate to his story compared to La Bamba with Ritchie Valens even tho that movie leaves and changes things too
@@GripyVR I was only stating my comment like that as you said the day the music died or American pie was the song name and I only was just confirming the name for you
@@gblackburn31 the closest thing it said about the crash was the positions of where each of the 4 bodies landed after the plane smashed and rolled across that frozen field
Both played a factor. The snow picked up real bad which blinded the pilot of relying on vision only and he wasn't fully capable on navigating with the planes instruments so he became disoriented and ended up crashing
I don't think Buddy ever predicted his death I never seen that in the movies but I know Ritchie Valens dead Peoria says that he was going to die in a plane crash and he was having dreams about it and he came true
