dave weckl with his smooth drumming skills. (Suscribe me!) New Twitter Account: / danialheng Follow me! Will update twitter if i've uploaded any new videos!
Dave is a groove machine! And for the record only people who aspire to be like a great would call them arrogant. Dave Weckl is a great drummer and a fine educator of his craft. Instead of hate, appreciate.
This is one of those feel good summer park songs that are family friendly, played by some 80s cover band with 15 people, half of which merely sway and clap. :)
I'm truly disgusted with negative comments on amazing musicians. What's with the bashing?! Just watched a Dennis Chambers vid and all kinds of bashing in the comments there too. Shit guys, way to break the meathead drummer stereotype for us.
I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just mean that a lot of people watch/listen to Weckl and get hung up on his chops. But as well as that he grooves brilliantly and, even more than that, makes a great sound on the drums. Sound is a lot more than gear! It's down to the individual. I've heard dave sound just like this on a Yamaha hig gig. So when I said ignore, I just meant that I like to think of his sound first, and his chops later.
@thehoaxbuster hey pal, thats what made buddy great. relax, everyone has different playing styles, thats what buddy rich did. just let everyone play the way theyre gunna play. odds are no ones gunna change how they play because of your comment, so chill.
Very nice, I like Weckl a lot. I think this chart was a good choice for him, it suits his playing a lot. If you can ignore the techniquey stuff, you start to realise that he really makes a great sound. Good stuff. I do prefer Adderly's version of this, but Dave's still an absolute master.
I know People will kill me and accuse me of blasphemy, but I think guys like Weckle, Vinnie and some more are better than Buddy Rich. I LOVE Buddy; but I think If you`re honest, you must admit that what Dave just played on this Video is over the top...
I don't think what you said is bad. Buddy Rich is a great drummer but what makes him one of the greatest is how he influenced a lot of these drummers like Weckle, Gadd, Bonham, and Peart. So he's a great drummer but these other guys are really good too because they took some of the things that Buddy did and took it a step further.
evry musician is different in their own right both NEIL peart and Buddy are both more popular internationally Wheras DAVE WECKL who is also great but is known primarily to drummers and a more elite circle of musicians i've meet some great musicians who no matter what thrie skill level would hardly ever waste time judging or hating on other people especially when music is so much about collaboration!
+Raymond Lisle IKR he's updated drumming from the SWING era he needs to update his hairstyle from the 80's but this vid was a while back so it just seemed funny to st8 that ENJOY!!
Very few can play Buddy's songs with amazing groove, and musicallity as Steve Smith. The man has it all, chops, technique, speed, but most importantly amazing musical sense and dominates many styles (rock, heavy metal, jazz, big band, swing, fusion, pop, etc.). Another great one is Steve Gadd, master of fusion jazz. Weckl is also very good, but sometimes he overplays it.
@@Drizzt_Do_Entreri No, that's not what I'm saying. All great drummers sometimes overplay songs. It is very tempting when they have such amazing skills. Some do it more than others. Buddy overplayed sometimes, sure.
this is kinda snore sleep for Weckl.. I don't know why they'd pick this, I guess it's readable to the band and accessable. Listen to even the very first track of the first Chick Corea Electric Band to hear Weckl tear minds apart. This stuff is just dumb goofy.. gotta say that I loved Greg Bissonettes' solo.. so interesting and musical
