I actually put in the Kay/Bedivere. Good to know different people run this deck differently. Edit: And I'd like to see the deck played simply because everywhere you turn Royal Paladin is run the Gancelot build. Don't get me wrong it a damn good build but, Soul Saver needs some love too.
I love this deck. Barron is a great card because he power up a unit and give grade criticals. I managed to beat my opponent with Soulsaver before he rode grade three. My soulsaver had three criticals due to force two and Barron. Have a nice night. See ya.
Personally I don't find 12 crit that good, more crits make your columns deal more damage sure but the deck already struggles enough with hand advantage, cutting draws altogether makes the problem worse. Hengist also needs you to call before drive checking so you'll need a hand beforehand. What I found when running 12 crits was that I checked more crits but often didn't get enough hand to establish a good field and Soul Saver needs a full field.
More draw power helps the deck see its pieces and be more consistent while still being able to use Soul Saver once or twice followed by Hengist. Running the Draw PG opens room for Little Sage Marron to get additional draw power and Great Sage Barron can compensate running less crits. In fairness I got the draw pgs when they were like $3 though.
I actually hate Palamedes. He doesn't look or feel like a RP, but he does get a lot of power. I agree we your set up, except I'd trade him for Tentless Feather dragon. A cheap cost for some good old field filling. Firno is also a decent option, given she won't have other grade threes using up your counter blasts.
So I'd max out on Akane, Rendering Angel, Loading Angel for grade two. For grade one Pongal, Dream Painter, and Bright Unicorn, for grade three max Soul Saver, three Hengist, two Tentless or Firno. Max your triggers with eight crits, make sure your draws are pgs, and a grade 0 that lets you draw. That should do it. Again, F##k Palamedes. I chose a superior call over power any day. This isn't Kagero, Dark Irregs, or DPs. It's Royal Paladin. Think about field filling or drawing. Don't over think power.
Add the Draw PGs, that's about it. All the expensive RP cards are meant for the Blaster Blade builds and Soul Saver doesn't need the Blaster engine. There isn't much room in the deck for Kay and Bedivere either, you could run them but take up a significant amount of deck space that's better used for soulcharging.
Yes but if you use the skill and have 3 rearguards the opponent must call 2 cards to the guardian circle and if they want to use their pg they must discard another card for the cost
