What hobbies do you have that cost you $20-25 for dozens of hours of entertainment? A video game costs $60 (some are $70). A round of golf at my local course costs $42 for one day (not to mention the cost of clubs, balls, golf shoes, etc). We ordered dinner for 3 from a local Mexican restaurant last night and it was $70. The average cost of a movie ticket is $12 which is $48 for a family of 4 (with no drinks or snacks) for 2-3 hours of entertainment. A fishing license in my state is $18 which is $72 for a family of 4 (not counting rods, reels, bait, etc.). A hunting license is $19, comparable in price to a fishing license (once again not counting guns/bows, ammo, clothing, etc.). I’m not saying $60 is affordable for everyone but most hobbies cost money and $60 isn’t an outrageous price to spend on something that nets you that much entertainment. If I buy a $60 board game and we don’t go to the movies and play that board game for 1 night then it’s paid for itself. Two nights and we’re coming off cheaper. That’s not even mentioning that there are games on the list less than $60 and these games go on sale all the time for less than that. $60 for dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of entertainment isn’t a ridiculous price at all.
