TRX4s and Basecamps make excellent class 1 rigs. Very capable even on the small tires. I like what Hobbywing is trying to do but unless you’re really pinching pennies, hard to justify NOT getting the fusion se.
The thing that pisses me off as of late when it comes to RC, is the 2 in one ESC bullshit. I want to put a fusion pro in my SCX10 Gladiator, but it's a damn 2 in one ESC so I'd have to buy another receiver that works with my radio.
@@JD-tl7ldthat’s weird? I swear I’ve seen people just drop a 2 in 1 into a stock setup….kinda sucks! I’d just go with this kinda brushed setup… literally no difference…maybe 5% more torque for 2-3x the price
I'm kind of new to the whole RC thing as I've only been in a year, so I am used to the conventional ESC+radio+receiver. Both my FMS Atlas and SCX10 Deadbolt are conventional set ups. I can drop a 2 in 1 brushless motor in either and it would work. My SCX Gladiator on the other hand is a 2 in 1 ESC+receiver. I cannot drop a brushless 2 in 1 in it without getting a new receiver. That's what irritates me greatly. A cheap Spectrum receiver is like 50 extra bucks on top of an already expensive truck and a brushless set up.
@@JD-tl7ld I’d honestly tell you to get a Flysky GT5 or something similar. They’re about $70 and the receivers are as low as $15 and it’ll hold 20 vehicles. They’re awesome.
Nice review…4.65 tires fit perfect under the bronco…. The bronco did really well for the small tires! I’ve got 2 of these broncos and have built them differently for comparison purposes ….very good rigs
I think stock size is the perfect scale look, 4.75, but I’ve seen ruptures on a bronco that somehow don’t rub.. even with the stock fenders and shocks… I saw this on hello RCs channel. I bet they’d increase performance quite a bit
I cant see y anyone would wanna stay brushed with the amazingly better system going brushless. Mean for the money the fusion is just to cheap to not go brushless. And the brushless motor dont wear out if taken care of at all. It will pay for itself in the long run. And preform better in almost every aspect.
Brushed still has it's uses, easier to install and work with for someone new in the hobby, plus is far cheaper at 10-20$ Modern brushed motors are pretty decent in the performance department also
The new v2 products are awesome! I just recently got the new v2 8bl150 esc and 4274 2000kv motor combo for 125 to the door👍🏻 nice rig😎tires do look a little small though 😊
Up until about a week ago or so i was running 1080's and Holmes Hobbies motors in both my crawlers but now i fitted them with Fusions, that's a hole different ball game. Interesting test though, seems yo work well that system
With the SE being so cheap, I think this is overpriced. Assuming the motor costs $20, the ESC should be about $45. If I burned up either I’d still upgrade the whole thing to an SE.
Been wanting to see a review of this motor for some time, thanks! I do like the feel a of a brushed motor. I like my Fusion Pro, but love going back to my 1080 with Holmes brushed motor. I tried class 1 tires on my TRX4 also, really lowered the CG, but looked a bit wrong.
That drag brake even in 1st gear just doesn’t seem very good. But I’m about to order one of these for an old OG scx10 half cab that has a tekin crawler setup that needs rebuilding.
I have been looking at these, the 555 available in 11t and 13t, the 540 is available in 40t, 30t, what is the difference between the number's .is it smaller the number , more torque or is it the bigger the number ,more torque? I'm looking for a good crawler motor for my Axial Capra UBT18 and not interested in speed
I’m surprised you wasted money on the bowhouse battery tray…. I completely remove my stock battery tray and use shorty packs up front. MASSIVE difference and I still get over an hour of runtime per pack
My LHS stocks these esc/motor combos. Said 99% of buyers are very happy with them. (Fact of my LHS owner. HE legally owned that shop when he turned 21. Parents bought it for him. He went from a train only shop, to a multi-million dollar a yr business in 10 yrs. EVERY year, a hobbytown executive stops in wanting to buy it. Said he'll NOT EVER sell to them.👍)
