Banshee of the Dread Choir is a great creature for discard themes. Also Forced Fruition and Otherworld Atlas works very well with this strategy because it keeps your discard effects from becoming irrelevant and it adds a mill component to the deck

Banshee is solid and in the $40 list. The only downside is lack of evasion. I'd rather not draw my opponents card though! Much prefer bouncing their remaining permanents and discarding those instead.

@@tomerabramovici32 I must have missed banshee in the deck list when checked. But I promise that forcing your opponents to draw cards while playing a discard themed deck is worth the risk. I've had a lot of success using Mindslicer with Phyrexian Altar and Decaying Soil to keep control of the situation.

My favorite deck of all time is built around my favorite card, Warped Devotion (only reason I'm even commenting). I do not agree with many of the cards mentioned if building around Warped Devotion. I run an almost creatureless version that is pure bounce/counter/draw. After many variations I have tried throughout the years I believe it to be the strongest use of Warped Devotion. I believe discard creatures perform better in discard decks w/o Warped Devotion as well as The Rack & Megrim effects (different deck, also very strong). *This is my casual deck* Weakness is other faster discard and land destruction. 4x Palinchron 3x Chainer's Edict 4x Warped Devotion 4x Recoil 4x Boomerang 3x Wash Out 3x Aether Spellbomb 4x Counterspell 4x Accumulated Knowledge 3x Fact or Fiction 1x Demonic Tutor 1x Mystical Tutor 1x Time Spiral 2x Drowned Catacombs 2x Reflecting Pool 10x Island 7x Swamp I'm sure there are probably some more powerful cards that I'm not familiar with that can be substituted as well as good dual lands. I'd be curious what an improved version of this would be staying with the theme. Cyclonic Rift looks like a better Wash Out...

Devastation tide and coastal beach returns warped devotion resulting in no trigger from the warped devotion.

From my understanding of the rulings, Warped Devotion sees all the nonland permanents leave play and triggers from them (including from itself leaving play). Relevant ruling from gatherer: "This card can trigger on itself being returned to a player’s hand."

Snap is solid. Scepter is a great card but you gotta make sure you've got at least 10+ targets for it to be consistent and/or a ton of tutors. And if you do manage to put in Scepter, you gotta add Dramatic Reversal!

Fair enough, but there are already a ton of great targets, like Countersquall/Counterspell/Arcane Denial/Mana Drain, Ponder, Impulse, Demonic Tutor, Malicious Affliciton, Merchant Scroll, Cyclonic Rift, you could add Snap, Vampiric Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Dramatic Reversal, and maybe even Hurkyl’s recall?

@@EM10gamer Most of those are great choices. Just fyi though you can't imprint sorceries so no Ponder, Demonic Tutor, etc.

I see! Thanks for the clarification! I only play Isochron in a Kess storm deck and Derevi Stax. So...I’m usually only targeting Dramatic Reversal. (And Scepter would be pretty broken if you could play sorceries at instant speed, heck time walk Isochron would make a better time vault)
