WOW, I have seen videos for years(48 y/o) and this is by far the cleanest, most precise and to the point video I have seen in years. I love the format, what you talked about and examples of what was mentioned... SUBSCRIBED!!!
Sweet build man! I just got a 1992 honda civic hatchback si! Not quite as lite as the Dx or Hx but really nice. It has the d16z6 in it. I know a little bit about Honda's but I am still retaining any information that I can! Plan on keeping the single jingle and trying to do a reliable turbo setup like u guys did! Awesome work man keep it up.
Jealous, cant find any civic hatchbacks near me on any website within like $10,000 (just looking for my first car in 2 years) my dad sent me a link to a stock 07 civic si coupe (6 speed manual) for like $3,500 and its pretty nice, not tryna sound like i am taking things for granted or be un-grateful but i really like the 90s civic hatchback and would love to have that as a first car. The annoying thing is is that there is a freaking civic hatchback in pretty good condition aside from no paint in some spots around the car at one of our neighbors houses at the bottom of our mountain, but.... it probably isn’t going to be or isn’t for sale sadly. If you read this have a good day.
I want to build my stock d15b2 on a budget of 2k and this definitely helped me decide . I know the b2 isnt the best D series but hey why not have fun with it
On the b7 skip the vitara route and use the p29 pistons and maxspeeding rods 134.50 length...ur compression would be in the 10s..and I have tried both setups vitaras and p29 and I love the p29 route better..car felt alot more responses and the TQ was alot better day and night difference...between the vitara and p29s builds the difference between the 2 was I went with 75.50 on the vitara build 75mm on the p29 and made a lot more power with the same tuners on the p29s..just my 2 cents...good luck
What happened to the budget turbo d15 build :( you make some really good videos and I was excited to continue watching the build but you haven't made a video on that in over 6 months, come back!
We definitely feel for you... and we apologize, the project is still here but unfortunately put om the back burner as keeping up woth product for our customers has became the #1 priority. Demand has increased so much over the year all our fun projects have been on the sidelines sadly. We have been taking all the necessary steps to get back to it very soon though! We even have videos done for it that just require a little more editing dmto be released and are getting those done soon as well!
Y dnt u throw a vtec head on it so you dnt have to change the transmission because I had a 95 civic sedan with a d15b7 an I think the trans is better than a si del sol my brother had one an my car felt better cuz u dnt have to change gears as fast
might as well be playing the home made turbo song somewhere on this video lmao if you have not seen the video just search HMT joint and have a laugh from 2006
Hey was it worth turbocharged your D15b7 motor. I have a 94 Del Sol with the same motor and I was thinking would it be better to swap it with a B16 or B18 with a turbo or keep my stock engine and build it a turbo
I have same motor, non vtec can you advise what to do for ECU? Do you just buy a “chipped p06” That’s my only stipulation to do this swap. Since it’s obd1 and I am not sure on electronics. Thank you
Any chipped OBD1 ECU. The chip dictates the tunes and map for the engine as long as the J1 pin is jumpered. I'd chip a P28 with a modified P06 map in case you swap to VTEC later
New springs and retainers, and either swap in a JDM D15B cam assembly with locked followers or a good vtec street cam. You can also chip and lower the VTEC engage point to make better low end but with no boost they'll always lack without insane amounts of money put in
Yes they are basically the same blocks. Not 100% the same but mostly. All parts should bolt up to each of them. The transmissions definitely do. Within the same years of course. Like 88-00 is usually fairly similar 88-91, 92-95, 96-00 are the generations so you get even more compatibility within your own generation.
@@BurtonRacing thank you very very much have been looking for something like this for years love the video and products (I have a boosted b7) and look forward to installing my coil on plug kit from you guys!
Yes. The oil pressure and turbo being a journal bearing determines that you need an oil restrictor to cut down the pressure on the turbos oil seals so it does not push oil past them. A catch can is to relieve crank case pressure so you dont push oil past the piston rings.
