You can plug in that Renogy DC to DC charger into the solar input of your bluetti and charge it as well at 40 amps.

Another benefit of going with the DIY battery system is that if one component fails you just replace that component. You can also upgrade each component as needed/wanted.

I’m building 3 solar lithium generators myself now. A 1500w, 750w, and a straight 12v box for charging small devices. Pennies on the dollar compared to these turn key systems.

Another great video. Many videos with similar comparison, but of course, bits of this one seem to stand out. Having said that, I would love to see a video of how it makes sense to have both and how they compliment each other for inputs and outputs.

The area needed to build a system with inverter, the power station would win. Most mid-size power station stations have a 12V 30A output, which could be integrated into the vehicles aux 12v system. Pecron has a 500W charger, which will function with most power stations. Etaker has just released a 1000W vehicle/solar charger.

Great food for thought on power options. Perhaps I missed the episode - Id dig to see or hear of some thoughts/considerations/ or what you are using to run power directly to your RTT? Ive already drilled holes into the base of my RTT for such - but I felt like I had to wing it because I wasn't getting the answers I needed. With that said - perhaps you could shed some light for others that might wish to do the same.

Doing a 200ah in my suburban and got the 1058wh ecoflow for 50% off, question how is the renogy so far I've read many reviews they are mixed I was looking at the victron 50a it is 360 on Amazon but reliability is the name of the game at times. The eco flow has 3 usb c ports and 3 usb a if I'm correct (don't have it infront of me)

Great video. If I were in your position as a AAA RU-vidr or a full time rubber tramp/vanlifer building a permanent system is the solution. If however you rolled back the clock to when you were a weekender with a couple weeks vacation time a year and the vehicle was a daily driver would you still lean towards a custom built system. This is the debate I enter into with my wife and myself with every addition. It’s a much more nuanced decision in the “every man” case. BTW, love loved the Flattops series but wish you hadn’t made it, if you know what I mean - lol 😉.

I would love to see an in depth guide to how you set up and built your aux battery set up. I’ve been thinking about doing one by self there’s just so much to learn before I do. You always do a good job of explaining and making things easy to understand!

For now they are straight to the battery but I will add a switch system soon so I can turn them off.

I think your comments about portability only make sense if you use the lifepo4 battery with a full setup that is similar to the full bluetti setup. Not everyone needs to do this however. I use a battery 200 ah Renogy lifepo4 to run my fridge with a direct connection. It will easily run more than a week, and usually twice this. Of course this will be affected by warmer temperatures than when I go, which does not get even into the eighties most days. It’s also very portable when used this way. I also have an ecoflow delta 2 max. The parasitic draw from the ac or dc being on is a real problem. A problem my Renogy battery does not have. I enjoyed the video as usual. Everything has so many options today, much is good to have.
