Budget PCP Rifles vs Premium. Should I budget for a higher price? 

The hw100 has its own form of regulation, and it can’t be double loaded. One of best pcp rifles I have ever owned.

Great comparison! I have the reximex's cousin, JTS Airacuda. It's by far the WORST pcp I've bought. And i have 10, ranging from a 20yo Airforce Talon that looked liked the previous owner left it in the back off a truck (still will outshoot Airacuda all day, everyday) to the incredible FX Impact. I had to straighten the bent barrel on the Airacuda, recrown it, assemble shroud correctly, i could go on, but you get the point. My suggestion is this....Do not buy any airgun that's not time proven.

Just because a gun has a ‘shoe’ style trigger doesn’t mean it’s ‘match’ grade. It should have adjustable 1st & 2nd stage, weight & pull length. The hw100 is the only one here with a match grade trigger. Mine is sublime at 2 ounces. My reximex mito trigger mechanism had a disgusting amount of swarf inside & had a 5lb pull weight so reximex owners beware, although i do now love it & have managed to get the weight down to 1.5 lbs.

There is such a vast array of choice now for rifles at every budget , like you say its very important to get them in your hands to make a choice as they can feel so different for different people. The Turkish kit is great value and great fun to shoot and thats where i started then on to other stuff that takes rifle accuracy out of the equation so i can work on my shooting skills. Shooting is so much fun, I find it such a relaxing way to get away from the daily grind. Have to say though, once you get your hands on something like the HW100 it makes you want one!!! and in 15yrs it very likely will shoot as well as it did when you bought it.

I love budget airguns. my budget doesn't allow me to get an HW, RAW or an FX. I have fun with cheap airguns and unless you want to compete in the extreme bench rest, any one can have fun with budget guns also tinkering with them makes them even more fun so yeah.

I got the np02 and 2 hw100 as well as a lot of other guns but the HW100 is a fantastic gun shot count not the best but everything else about is spot on . I love my np02 a bit rough around the edges but still a great gun . (I got a 700cc cf bottle on my hw no problem now with the shot count) nice review buddy 😊

Just got the Kral jumbo hicap came with 2 mags single shot tray carry case and a spare bottle and my word cleaned the barrel and it is pellet on pellet

Not quite sure about the high price going back to shop long delay comment as a reason to decide budget is the most important factor. I think it’s more to do with what you plan to do with the gun. If you are going to plink in the garden at shorter ranges than lower cost makes sense. If you are going to hunt, weight, accuracy, ease of loading and accuracy are important. If it’s more of a bench rest gun then shot count is less important as most people have their bottle with them so accuracy is top of the list. In my experience you do tend to find you can feel the better engineering as the price goes up ( not always !) but as you say, get to a gun shop, shoulder and feel a few guns and you be will discover what feels right. For many owners looks are a big thing ( just have to look at the colourful stocks and bling people add to their rifles ) so personal choice will govern any decision. The guys at the Crawley Surplus Store are fantastic as you say and will guide anyone on making the right choice. If it was my money it would be the HW100 purely as they are normally amazingly accurate, very quiet with the supplied suppressor, probably the best magazine system on any airgun, no double load, fantastic trigger and extremely reliable ( and if they go wrong simple to repair or loads of people out there who can fix them ). 2nd hand there are some bargains on the HW100 and 100’s out there. Great review, I have the .177 Pretensis and it's really accurate and well worth the money. I bought mine second hand but it didn't come with the underside rail so do you know if these are stocked anywhere, cheers?

I have np02 and pretensis. Both good gins but pretensis is amazing for £450 I paid for mine.

Theres alot to consider as fat as budget goes .i always find it helpful to make 3 categories from your highest. You could afford to the lowest budget,do your research and really break it down into what kind of shooting your looking to do.....and then think about your options is it a budget buy or filling a certain air gun category youve been trying to fill .a.k.a. big bore ,pistol, long range etc. For example If youre only looking for youre new gun to be a big bore for large game hunting than depending on your state pick from smallest bore to largest bore thats legal and ethical for what you're hunting and do your research pick 3 and narrow down to wants😂 and needs.i find it very helpful to pick 3 by price low med high and then rate them by quality, accuracy and options..like anything else you get what you pay for.yes there are those rare occurrences when a low budget freindly option is comparable to a high end for what 80%of people are doing .example umarex guantlet 2 i see being compared to fx models at 100 and 200 yards and they perform well jst as good in most situations. These are jst opinions but knowledge is key to all .alwaya do research and hone your skills .

Hmmm lots of opinions…hw100 not enough shots,kral? Fantastic and cheap…pretensis? Bookend…I own 17 rifles and the zobroia hortitsia is as good as my s510….but it helps if you can shoot!

the hw is heavy and crap shot count the np02 are a bargain and bloody accurate i would have gone to the rm8 as the middle priced gun and a brocock sniper xr as the higher priced

to me laminate stocks look chav nasty.

In the USA i can buy a one thousand foot range for 700 dollars one hundred dollar scope almost any animal in north America air guns in Ukrainian are way too expensive

I have 3 sprinters, hw77, hw80, hw98 and 2 pcp's. A gamo phox, which is actually a long term loan from a friend and a kral hi cap. They are all bar the 77 in .177. I'm saving up for either the hw100, got a thing for hw's or a daystate huntsman regal. Long winded way of saying, save up.
