The turnbox and a strop block is all I usually use. I don't reprofile anything and I rarely let things get super dull. It's a great knife maintenance kit.

It's solid and for the vast majority of knife owners is all they're ever going to need.

I only use the brass rods on the sharp maker because I have to take them off to get the the ceramic rods....

Nice mods to your Turnbox.

I put a protractor against mine and the angles were 5° apart. I just correct the angle on my own.

I have the other lansky turnbox with the brown 600 grit and white 1000 grit rods and if you use them proper they will get you a hair popping edge that slices through phone book paper with ease. Add a leather strop with different compounds like you did and "may the force be with you"! Lol

I used to be poor, so I had to learn using a $5 ceramic stone. No regrets, cheap chinese diamond stones and leather are all I use

Newer Santa Fe’s must be getting shorter screws for the clip because mine are a lot shorter than yours, almost flush.

How did you drill the 15 degree angles? I’m trying to do the same but cannot figure it out Thanks

Would it work for serrated or combo edge knives?
