Really glad to hear that, keep the turbo Chryslers on the road! I don’t know everything about these cars, but reach out with any questions you have. I love to try to help!
Assuming you are using a 782 type swirl head. The heart-shaped chamber has a tit between the valves. It is over 1/2 inch thick aluminum, and becomes an ignition source. Grind it away with maximum prejudice. I broke many many 2.2 pistons learning this.
Great to know! I know this head came off a newer model, I don’t know a TON about the engine internals/specifics of these cars. I will take a look at it.
Thanks Brian! I imagine the Shelby will be a lot like monetization....takes forever to get done, but rewarding once it is! Speaking of, how is yours? Still chasing the overheating issue?
@@TheMoparGarage In fact, I was just working on it yesterday (guess you inspired me). I'm having intermittent fuel pump outages. Turns out to be a bad Walbro pump with less than 200 miles on it..... Still overheating a little. I'm seeing 220 WAY too much. Need to get a radiator for it I guess.
@@ProjectTimeGarage heck yeah, I love it! I remember you putting a brand new pump in when you first got the car…imagine that, another bad part right out of the box 🙄. I look forward to the content!
Put a couple of studs in the head bolts in the block to help keep the head aligned while setting it on. If any changes like bigger injectors or throttle body. How can you adjust the computer? If a new engine is needed would a 2.5 be a better place to start? If so should the balancer in the oil pan be disconnected and oil feed plugged?
I think FWD performance sells different logic modules so that you can run higher boost and larger injectors. I’m going to keep this one stock though, not looking to win any drag races with it! Not sure of any details on a 2.5 swap, I’m sure it’s been done though.
Thanks for watching Erick! If you go to my Playlist on this car, there are a couple different videos involving the fuel system toward the front of the car. I'll be replacing the pump/tank in the future as well.
