@@austere_clicky6131 yes I would recommend this handbrake. Only issue I had was that one of the holes didn't line up, so now my handbrake is secured with 3 instead of 4 bolts. Anyway rock solid mounted so no problem for me
If you want to convert the brake into conventional, horizontal position (as shown at 3:48), you can do more than just move the handle. The whole moving structure can be inverted if you take it apart. The result is a very nice brake with no piece sticking upwards. I just did that to mine.

@@austere_clicky6131 works great, doesn’t come with any grease on the pivot point or slides so it develops a little squeak after a while. But that’s not hard to fix.

I've looked at hundreds of these things and they either don't come with a table clamp or the seller doesn't bother to mention if it has a table clamp or take a photo of one and they always cost far too much for me to buy one without knowing for sure if it comes with a table clamp. But this one is $35 with a table clamp! Instant Buy. TABLE CLAMP! (edit) actually there's another one on that site that appears to be exactly the same thing but for only $13! I can't tell why one is cheaper than the other. (edit 2) I see now. Variations of the product are handled by changing the "color' option. One "color" is just the table clamp, another "color" is just the mounting plate, another "color" is the handbrake with the table clamp and without the mounting plate, etc.
You know when you want to put it in horizontal position, you can adjust the bottom piece so you don't have that awkward part sticking up, that's what the extra holes in the bottom piece are for. This is a common mistake I've seen on many channels. Sorry if someone's already mentioned this, I couldn't be bothered to read all the comments lol
Unfortunately, that doesn't work, I've already tested it. If you flip the bottom, piece, you'll discover the handle collides with the cover that houses the controller board when you pull the handbrake.
@@austere_clicky6131 yes i can recommend it, i got one like this on amazon, works perfect, it got a bit of sideways play but nothing that hinders the experience.For the price it's a no brainer.👍
Nice review again mate!👍 A bit weak in resistance, but hey, for that price! 💪 I went with the other one as an extra hand brake do to mounting, and guessing the resistance will be pretty weak on that too. But thinking about how little I use the hand brake even though I rally quite a bit, it's hard to justify a more expensive one.
You are dead right, a handbrake doesn't normally get used a whole lot. For the video, I pre-selected a track with as many sharp bends as I could find and overused it for demonstration purposes.
I did not buy the one from Bangood, but one using the same set up and I would just suggest being careful with the cable where it connects to the handbrake. I had the connector break off the board. I love the handbrake, it is a great value.
When my one arrived the 4 holes in the top half of the mounting bracket did not all align with the holes in the bottom of the handbrake unit. I reported this to Banggood and have had an initial response but at the time of writing this comment the issue has not been resolved. Happy to update this comment if I get a satisfactory outcome.
I have one, I have had it for about a year however when I first got it the magnet came off and it came with no clamp. I had to super glue the magnet back on and find a clamp i already had. Apart from that it does its job and there is an allen screw at the back you can tighten up to reduce the deadzone.
Same lmao. For the past year I’ve been watching these racing sim vids and thinking that it costed thousands of dollars to get everything I finally looked it up yesterday and have now spent over 400 dollars lmao
@@austere_clicky6131 Works great. I will say its not 100% essential unless youre into rally games or something youre drifting in. But i got one for about $90 and im glad I have it. I think its the one item in the setup you can go cheap on.
@@DmanDice ok, yes, I will be doing racing, as well as drifting so I wanted a good handbrake that would last and be atleast decent, thanks and I will be buying it, what caught me on it was the price tho, I was looking at some that were $250 while this is around $100, depending on the website

The Fanatec CSL would a very nice upgrade over your G25. I have my eye on the SHH shifter too, I'll get that in for a review at some point. Definitely get those upgrades in before the 👶 pops out. And congrats on your future fatherhood.

Didn't see anyone ask this but what is the rotating metal hook for? Is that to hold the break back at the start of the race so you don't have to do it manually? If so, the default position out of the box doesn't extend forward enough to hold the bolt but I saw the is a hole to adjust the hook and move it forward a bit. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Yes, the hook is for holding full lock on the handbrake. It's a redundant feature as the lever doesn't come back far enough to hook it around the bolt. Of course it's a modded version of the handbrake, so I guess it would have worked before. I ended up removing the hook as it rattled around a bit.
I don't know why, but mine has a giant deadzone in the start and when it starts detecting the travel it reaches 100% so quick, almost before middle of the total travel. Does anyone has any tips on how to calibrate this or mod?
Yeah I hooked this up to my manual truck, got it all set up, and when I pulled it, even though I hooked up my e brake cable to it, I heard a loud bang under my feet and now my e brake doesn't work, is this product fake and how do I get my money back

5:40 i assume its just because its setup for drifting, in the majority of cars setup for drifting (in my experience) you will find the handbrake will be setup pretty loose. i personally like it that way myself also

sup, bought similar brake and disassembled it directly.. nothing special but a female USB-A port (but it’s connected via USB-C) and a few lanes that aren’t soldered anyways. later in “calibration” it showed me 8 or more buttons. 🤔 confusing & weird because it seems possible to build a button box out of it. I’m wondering what said Typ A provides 😂

Hey I really liked your vid, was a good review and it was enough to make me want one haha, I ordered one and it said pre order, which I was fine with, but a few days after it sent? I’m just confused as it said pre order, has a tracking number but It isn’t trackable, not sure if that’s because it’s not in my country yet and or it’s not in the system, just confused and wondering if I should be concerned/ worried lol
You should be fine, tracking numbers don't get on the system right away. I've used Banggood quite a few times for bits and pieces and I've always found them to be reliable.
Mine comes up as arduino micro and has eay more stuff on the test page of the properties menu like buttons and shit? It doesnt have the axes and slider

If you mean the one I was using in this review. It's a BJ Simracing model that they no longer sell. I also modded it with a different gear knob, and I had to redo the electronics so it doesn't fully resemble the original shifter anymore so in not in reviewable state really.
Some are saying this doesn't work for Forza Horizon 4 because it's analog, (Which iirc just means that it has different force from 0% to 100% pulled right?) I currently use a flight joystick as a handbrake just fine but wanted to upgrade to a proper handbrake. Is anyone 100% sure this doesn't work???

I have a question.It is meant for t300 but is it all versions because i have the thrustmaster t300 alcantara.And something really unexplainable happend to my shifter that i cant understan.After opening my pc in the morning the th8a shifer didt work and wasnt showed in the app while being detected by the Pc.It had no effect on any games and didnt work well.What do i have to do to get it working
Hey when you get a handbrake does it have to match up with the bit of your pc ? Because I bought a 14 bit and it wouldn’t calibrate to my wheel setting so I just purchased a 64 bit which is my pc bit size so you think it’ll work ? !
Can you flip the lower part of the handbrake so that it sticks out the way a streetcar's handbrake does? I know this requires disassembly but the mounting holes seem to allow that.
Was the usb cable hard to push into the usb hole? I ordered this, and got it then go to plug the usb in and the little thing just snaps with ease. Wasnt to happy but i sent it back and am getting a new one from them.
It wasn't difficult in plug the micro USB. I've had no problems, but I can tell the micro USB connector is a fragile component and a yank could break it off the board. Use a cable tie to told the USB cable to the shifter to relieve any tension and you should be fine. Mine arrived already like that.
I ordered the same handbrake, but I guess it was the one without the desk clamp. Does anyone know if I can order just a desk clamp somewhere or am I going to have to return it and order another handbrake that comes with the desk clamp?
I could really use some help. I just got one off Amazon. It’s the cheapest I could find. Didn’t come with a table clamp and it’s acting weird. So when I dig deeper apparently it thinks it’s a Xbox controller. So it was moving the camera and not letting me drive well looking back ETC.. I tried Beamng and instead of a simple parking break press like I assigned my 0 button on my whee to do it holds it. I tried inverting it other stuff. Then I tried forza horizon 4 the game it suggested on its page. Nope. It messed with the camera and driving and what not. Changed some settings to not have controller binding and ONLY the parking break on the “Xbox controller” yet it doesn’t work. It holds it in place. I checked the device on my computer and it was all Chinese idk if that’s normal or not, and the usb is like glued into the motherboard. So I uh, should I return it? Give it another shot? Any advice?
I'd say return it. It should be recognised by Windows as a generic analog input and not an Xbox controller. Which it why it's going nuts in games, and operating like a predefined Xbox controller input in games. It shouldn't do this.

Windows doesn’t even recognize it as a Xbox controller just some Chinese words which if I put into translate it roughly translates to “identification handle” in games it’s reconizes it as an Xbox controller which is weird to me. I’ll return it and get this other one I was looking at. Thanks again for the help man.
