I am budget all the way. I fish for fun, not professionally, therefore I have no sponsors, nor any equipment given to me. So in today's economy, I look for the deals. And if a cheap in price rod & reel performs just fine, why would I spend much more for either ? For example, I bought a Kast King spinning reel for like $27. It worked so good and I liked it so I bought another one. And just recently I found a Lew's American Hero camo spinning rod & reel combo for $30 !!! I jumped on that deal. It remains to be seen how good it is. Oh, and the only fishing line I use is the original Stren, in Low-Vis Green. Hasn't failed me in all these years. :) Good show too guys!

Highly recommended Runcl 8 strand PE round braids. I use the 18 lb and 60. Cheaper, super strong, smooth casting, and way thinner of a diameter than PowerPro. 60 lb is only .013.

Wish I could catch yall live every week. But I sleep days/afternoons and work nights. But I still listen to every one later that night at work. Shhh don’t tell my boss lol. Anyway when I was 32 I injured my lower back L2 thru L5. Had to use a walker then a cane just to walk. After surgeries and PT I finally came back to my field as a heavy equipment mechanic, long story short it took nearly 4 years in all to come back. Not to mention the financial burden on my family. It was in many ways a nightmare. Anyway just thought I’d share. Love the show guys, keep it up! Tight lines!

I have a kast king medium Spartacus rod for $40 and it’s one of my favorite rods for chucking crank baits. With a Daiwa on it I can cast that thing so far. Maybe one day I’ll try out a $300 rod but I got a few SLX rods. They don’t feel very special but still feel quality.

I got the 25th anniversary box from hook up tackle too !!! It is a complete banger that box was so worth the 100 bucks. That shop is so legit, I’ve spent a shit load of cash there in the last couple months 😂😂 screw it you only live once. Anyways thanks for the great content as always keep up the good work you guys are one of my favorite channels !!!

125 for a rod, can't go wrong with the BassX rod. The 2nd gen had a reel seat problem, but the 3rd gen seems to be expoxied better. And can't beat the warranty for the price.

Budget is cool to get people into fishing. Also at times there is value in budget equipment. Premium is important because it tends to last longer and work better. I'd say always buy premium if you can afford it.

I have gear in about every price category and I use and like gear In all the price ranges that I own, I don’t mind using inexpensive gear at all as long as it fishes well, I appreciate what the high end gear offers but for me it’s not hardly worth paying for the high end stuff for those perks, I prefer the $100-$200 range stuff because I don’t feel like I put more money into it than it’s worth to me, the Expride rods are my absolute favorite, at that upper $200 range, they are totally worth the money and then some but do I wanna send close to $300 no.
