I am 62 yrs old. When I was 3 the Clydesdales came to the Safeway in our little town. I got to sit on one and ride for few feet. One of my earliest and most cherished memories. They are magnificent!
When the world around you seems to be falling apart and you need a lift in spirit - just watch and listen to one of the most marvelous American traditions.
They may be the Budweiser Clydesdales, but everywhere they go in the United States people come out and cheer and see them as an iconic American image. Always a thrill! Majestic.
If I ever won the big lottery, I would get a huge horse ranch and bring up Clydesdale 's love those beautiful beasts of course including the dalmatians!!!!
I had the privilege of seeing the Clydesdales in person back I Michigan many, many years ago. I still can't believe how beautiful these horses are. Thanks to the entire Budweiser support staff for the wonderful care you take of these magnificent animals. ❤❤
I agree with what you said about the Clydesdales being an iconic American image. Always a thrill ... majestic. I used to live a half-block from the route of the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, and I always loved loved loved seeing the Clydesdales in the Rose Parade every year for many years. Some years they did a driving demonstration at a nearby horse show ring two days before the parade. Wonderful. I wonder if they will appear in this year's Rose Parade after the huge advertising debacle scandal they had ... but I live in New York City now so I won't see them in their California appearance.
Fire departments had Dalmatians to protect their horses and equipment from theft when they were fighting fires. Dalmatians aren't the friendliest dogs, especially with strangers.
Me too!! A tear for their beauty & a tear for my Dad in Heaven--a big Cards fan & loved those beautiful horses. I got to see them once as well--for anyone who hasn't gotten to see them up close put it on your bucket list. 😉💞
Yes I get a lump in my throat for the poor horses and their docked tails. So glad the practice is banned in more civilized countries. So glad to see someone not supporting this disgusting spectacle for stupid spectators clapping away for it. Gosh some people are uneducated.
Wonderful, as a child Clydesdales would pull the barrels of whisky to and from the local Distillery which means they had to pass by on the street I lived on. I loved watching them, still do and I adore all the Budweiser adverts. (Glasgow, Scotland here)
These horses are so handsome! The way that they are so in step with each other is amazing. I've often wondered if they are male's, female's or como of both.
My Mommy was die hard Cub fan; Pops loved his Cardinals (I’m still Cub fan) but this tradition with these beautiful Clydesdale horses always bring a tear to my eyes
I love the Clydesdale horses. They are classic elegance. I first saw them in Scranton, Pennsylvania when I was a kid…I’m 74 years old now. I follow everything about them. ❤️❤️❤️
Took the Clydesdales tour at the St. Louis brewery last year. And also Grant’s farm to see more Clydesdales. So happy these gentle giants are so well taken care of. A big thanks to everyone working with these beautiful horses.
Visiting the Johnson Space Center in Texas, I had one of the most mesmerizing experiences, Budwiser's Clydesdales are majestic creatures, also their Dalmatian companion were also visiting, even now seeing this video I get tear eyed with emotion, if you have the opportunity please don't miss it, their beauty is hard to describe, I even look for this time of the year for videos of their newborns ❤️
Love the way that woman takes the rains and swings the front team out so the wagon clears the wall as they enter. She didn’t even come up to their withers. Nothing more thrilling than the Clydesdale team. Nice job everyone.
I know that driver has some hell-yeah arm muscles! Holding the reigns on 8 x 2000 lbs of horse?!! There’s so much behind this magnificent tradition!! Thank you!!
As well there’s a story to some of these beautiful animals. A couple came from my hometown. They wouldn’t be alive now. Their off spring would be there now🌷
Love watching them. Makes my eyes water up a little bit. Never have to worry about how well they're taken care of. They are the most spoiled and well taken care of horses in the world.
Thank you, to the men and women who take care of, train, and hitch up these beautiful horses for this iconic drive around Busch Stadium every single opening day! I’m am planning a trip to opening day just once to see this in person.
The humans ruined it with the unnecessary realignment pulling !!!!! The horses were dead on track to start with !!!! Duuuuuh !!! Ok, on hindsight I must correct myself here !!! Realized that the realignment was indeed necessary to pull the rear off the wagon clear from the tunnel !!! But the driver could have done this in the fist place !! The horses just took the tight turn to the track ...just as the knew they were to be on !! Next time , just drive the drivers in to where you really need them to be !! Realignment sideways must have been hard for everyone !!!
It’ll be worth the trip. As a teen in Salmon, Idaho, they came to our rodeo. I’m in my 60’s now and remember how beautiful they are. I know now what a special treat it was for our small rather isolated town to be on their show route.
@@gathsfamily2866 Your correction is correct. The driver initiated the turn slightly too soon, and didn't want the wagon to scrape or get hung up on the corner of the wagon gate. The teams do not have a reverse...the handlers must do that. In essence, they needed to back up the wheel team first, then get the drive horses to back up, and then the lead or steering horses. The teams are taught this, along with other commands, and take commands readily.
These are the most gorgeous horses on the plant. I go to the fair just to see them . I hope they are there this year. I'm so excited , I've missed them so much these last few years. 😚
Beautiful horses. Beautiful tradition. I get tears in my eyes when these great animals take the field or the street. They March in unison and they are so proud to be a Clydesdale. Thank you for posting.
I saw them a couple of years ago when they came to Cape Coral, Florida...it took quite some time to get them ready to ‘hitch’ them up to the wagon but, I have to say, it was worth waiting for! I had my picture taken with one of those gorgeous horses...they are huge and had a chance to talk to one of their caretakers. Also took a peek into their trailers...they sure travel in comfort (as it should be) and style. Glad that I had the opportunity to be able to see them. They know that they are special...you can see it by the way they strut as soon as the music starts...love them !
I just love this video and watch every time RU-vid points it my way. The horses are magnificent and I'm in awe of the skills of their driver. I've driven one horse in the past and it was very scary. I can't imagine controlling 8 at one time.
I'm 62 yrs old & I saw the Clydesdales in a parade in StL. I was jumping up & down, clapping & crying like an 8 yr old boy! This was like 5 years ago 😂❤
@@joannekalish1020 As small kids our parents would take us to Grants Farm here in St Louis to see the Clydesdales. You could get right up next to them and pet them. Imagine a small child next to one of these gigantic horses. It gives you a new perspective on big. ;o)
@@joannekalish1020 I saw them at a parade in St Louis when I was a kid. The thing that amazed me was how huge their hooves are. Yes, their bodies are huge, but my eyes kept drifting to how huge their hooves are. Have also seen them at Grant's Farm. Truly gentle giants.
Shout out to the team drivers. I cant imagine the hours they put in every week .The horses are just breathtaking. They are treated like royalty from what videos ive seen about them. I would love to tour the barn and grounds. I could work there cleaning stalls and feeding hay and be happy.
@Ernie H Thank you for letting me know. I had no idea that this was going on😔. After reading your comments, I did some reading on the subject which brought me to tears. That is just as cruel as when it's done to dogs. I'm going to look to see if there's anything that can be done to band this cruel act. Believe me I didn't know😔.
I'm not into baseball, but love horses. I'd love to have a Clydesdale. They're absolutely stunning! I used to ride one when I was in my teens. They're truly gentle giants.
So happy to see this. Great seeing people gathering and enjoying a happy event together. And seeing the Clydesdales - what a joy to see them again among their adoring fans.
Wow. That's quite the maneuvering feat to get those giants to turn that tight corner - yet the horses didn't panic, didn't step on any trainer and then march on in their calm, magnificent beauty! 🌟✨
Yeah, they had to come onto the field enough for the wagon to clear that corner. One person was pulling on the bit, of the biggest horse at the back so the animal was reacting to not liking that.
So beautiful. So much tradition and discipline. Horses are beautiful and dog is happy to see the crowd. And the driver, wow. Time to crack a cold one. Play ball
AWESOME🤗🐴🐴🐴🐴❤, was able to see these Majestic beauties in 1984 when my 1rst daughter was 3, they came to our town(Roseville ,Ca.) on a special tour thru Calif. that yr-- I remember us being fairly close as they passed us by & they were so BIG-- giants compared to the average horse🐎-- thanks for that memory👍👍
Always excited to see the tradition beautiful horses. It's ashame that the whole stadium is not clapping for them what is it with these people. Thank you so some of us can enjoy them.
You know that it's Opening Day in St.Louis, when the Majestic Budweiser Clydesdales make their lap around Busch Stadium. One of Baseball's most awesome traditions!
I love these majestic horses. I know that not all pull beer wagons. However, their gait and confirmation is just them. All dressed out for the public. However, they are so beautiful anywhere under your diligent and care.
