Ya akhy, do not let your situation determine who you are but rather embrace what you do. Gaining inner peace from what you do is the most zen state you will ever have. Inshalah el 7ayat titnawr ilek. Sorry my Arabic is not good but I hope you understand. I hope you find someone who see the person who you really are.
Just forever grateful to have had the privilege and honor to see the BVSC perform during the tour accompanying this magnificent album. Sadly, several original members of the BVSC are no longer with us but their great music lives with us forever. Thank you Ry Cooder for everything you did to bring this musical project to fruition for all the world to see and hear.
@@romyman1971 "cultural appropriation"?? I don't think this word is applicable. Cooder brought light to something he enjoyed listening to and wanted to bring it to attention. It would've been lost art if it wasn't for him, all these guys who created this wonderful music would've passed away unnoticed by the world. People need to stop thinking in hypotheticals ("what if"). In any case, the people who yell and scream cultural appropriation are the ones who do nothing to prompt diversity yet complain when it is not diverse enough. Don't let the few ruin the many.
@@Laith-s1l Trust me, folks would find it applicable. If you couldn't tell, I am saying this with disapproval. I am grateful that he gave us this gift and "cultural appropriation" is a wonderful thing, IMO. That's what culture is, or should be, all about.
@@romyman1971 You will never run of folks who find anything is "applicable". In this context, cultural appropriation does not apply since no one is taking these songs and adopting or modifying them. They are in their purest form as the originals wanted them to be. All what Cooder did (thankfully) he grabbed the flashlight and pointed at Buena Visa club. If you read the comment on any Buena Vista songs - you will see that people around the world acknowledge Cuba and its culture by just listening to these song. I feel the same, I loved the music and love/respect Cubans, I would love to visit and see it with my own eyes. That is quite the opposite of "Cultural Appropriation".
Hearing this song always makes me so proud to be cuban, every single one of these and so many more by BVSC sang by my grandfather almost daily till he passed. I’ll be carrying the torch viejo, asta luego mi chama ❤️
You're lucky to enjoy the music and the deep meaning it holds in the lyrics. I on the other hand am not a Cuban, but I love/adore this music, as if somehow it is in my blood from descended family from Cuba. Piece to us all and although I never stepped a foot in Cuba, but I feel it is in my heart. Thank you for your people to bring this wonderful music and share it with us all who are non-Cuban. Love and Peace. USA/Michigan/ Originally from Iraq
I'm just a gringo that doesn't understand Spanish, except for a few words here and there. But even I can tell this is a fabulous album. I could listen to this all day. Great stuff!
One of my absolute favorite songs. "Por que en el campo es el eden, Mas lindo de mundo enterro" --"because the land is a paradise, The most beautiful place on earth!" 😎😏🤠 El carretero 'the cart driver'
@Hunter Falck umm... i believe the very end is actually:: "...por que el campo es el eden, ¡Mas lindo de mudo enterro!" "...because the land is an eden, The most beautiful place on earth!" ...ah caballo vamos p'al monte, ah caballo vamos p'al monte. Se un guajiro Carretero, .... ... You get the idea. VIVA CUBA, CUBA LIBRÉ!! *AHORA!!* 😎🇺🇸
Been listening to this absolute classy band for a year now, I am an Arabian person, and this feels so much closer to our music, the thing is, every time you listen to these songs you fall in love even more with the music, unlike other types of music, Very Magical
@@illmatic272 Caribbean music is as African as it is European. It's the perfect marriage of beautiful harmonies/melodies with upbeat rhythms. This music wasn't created in Africa. Traditional African music before the European influence is entirely different.
This song is about a poor man grinding and working his ass off from dusk till dawn hoping that one day his life will get better. It's fascinating how even without paying attention to the lyrics you can feel that emotion filled of hurt and hope simultaneously
Happily ? Like they have a choice ? Sin reposo = being tired but must go on. Just to get married… this is a complaint about misery, buena vista social club is political. Look at their story 🙏🏼
@@fennecabumukallalabdulmasi3867 wow! you're in for a disappointment if this is what you believe. Reality has it, that's not the case. The music is a shot at the politics that has created such conditions for someone to work so hard just to get by daily living expectations to create a family. Don't read too much other than the struggle of the people in their daily lives. Not sure where you got all the unreal love story you talked about.
Bought this on dvd. Instantly liked the melodies. In the dvd I can read the lyrics in english It's been a while. I have been listening to all kinds of music since music is for the spirit.
@@sonyawittry550 My nephew introduced me to these musicians years & years ago when he was about 14 -- they were in their 70’s back then!! He learned about them via a documentary on PBS. I had bought the CD where there is the english translation, too. I still have the cd and and now on iTunes.
Along the road of my place, a happy cart driver passed by with his very heartfelt songs. And with rural style, he happily sang. I'm going to the ferry to unload my cart, to complete the tasks of my humble job. [Chorus] On horseback we go to the countryside. On horseback we go to the countryside. I work without rest, so someday I can get married, and if I achieve it, I will be a fortunate person. I'm a farmer and cart driver, and in the country I live well, because the country is Eden, more lovely than anyplace. Clear the land, cultivate the land harvest the fruit of your sweat.

Shalom Tamas, probably your son feels like after a hard day of Transportes a caballo returning from the ferryboat... 😂 You can try also the following song: Duerme, duerme sung e.g. by Los Machucambos y muchos otros. It sings to the Baby that his Daddy is working hard all day long and the effects on Babies are astonishingly that the Babies fall asleep instead of their Daddy who really needs to sleep. It also worked for my sons when they were babies. Sing a song about how groggy their Daddy is from work and they fall asleep before the last verse is sung... 😅 Probably feeling the need of sleep is hereditary... 😂

Magnifica letra y magnifica interpretacion.
