Character needs like 5 buffs. Regular clone recovery needs to be the same as Raiden teleport, you can punish it but you gotta be on point. Ex Ice ball needs to come out faster, if they do that, that justifies his low damage. Ex clone needs to be 1 bar and have the same recovery as current regular clone. Clone timer needs to be reduced to 2.5 seconds since you can hit him out of it on start up and low pokes can just go right through clone most of the time. And either F1 needs to go back to being 12 frames like in the beta, or F12 need to be -5 instead of -7. They do those 5 thing he goes up on the list but not that much he would realistically land around the same spot as smoke, probably a little lower since he’d still have trash damage, and no mix.
@@Bell-rh6wpI don't think he has great mix. He telegraphs his moves pretty well. I've had a couple kick my ass but most subs I run into. Rely on ice slide and back 2 as their mix.
@@Bell-rh6wpAll of his "mix" is just moves that are minus and 1 overhead combo started that is so telegraphed and unsafe that not only do you lose your turn but you eat a whole combo for using his only non metered combo tool
One way to get around the damage scaling a little bit is Sareena. Deadly Vapors absolutely kills your damage scaling, but Sareenas double blade move doesn't scale as bad, and it acts as a nice combo extender Also try to limit your hit counts by using your back standing kick or sledgehammer before using sareena, if you do it right you should get 35-40%. At high level you usually use kung Lao or Goro anyway
He can technically get 45.6-46 with sareena. 47-48 if FB used at the end. I do F12, B+K, 4, B+K, B2, B2, J22, EX DB4, J22, EX DB4, J22, EX DB4, J22, DB1, J222(or wait exactly one second then FB.) This is obviously impractical cus u spend all meter, but that’s the highest damage I can find. Technically after the first J22 EX DB4, you can wait for them to fall then do 4 into BF3, which does 41-42 depending on starter of the combo. I know I’m a nerd for saying all this but thought I should mention
@@late6542to slightly modify your combo and get 50%, after the third J22 into (amp) DB4 you can hit S4 into fatal if you time it right…. It’s a little tricky but it’s guaranteed 50% maybe 52% if you time the fatal blow QTE perfectly (press ❌ or 🅰️ on every hit like in mk11)
It would have been alright if the only change (from the beta) was nerf his total scaling damage and his ice clone remains strong. This way even if he has low damage he is a deadly defensive threat by keeping aggressors frozen, making him more unique and stand out among the cast by being a counter to meta picks like baraka johnny and raiden
This one is a unique buff, make his throw meter burnable to start combos, and make his kameo throw do 30+ more damage, and a buff to ice clone and less damage scaling to special moves
A combo I use Serena which is actually pretty decent is Back Serena, then dash into them and 4,back Serena,the back 2 move twice, then jump in the air and 1 2, then on the ground hit a 4, then finish it off with a back forward 3. I know it’s a full cameo bar but the damage is pretty good. Typically around 380
For me, I do 2, 1 in the air because 1, 2 also scales damage just like ground freeze. I found a 40% combo mid screen that isn't too expensive. 1 bar, 1 kameo assist.

Great video. Although he does need buffs in certain areas, i am doing 30-40+% combos with the Sub. Currently a God in Kombat League. He is pretty much all i have been playing with.
I can't say Sub-Zero is a bad character to play as because if you can dedicate sometime to get use to him, you can find he can do well damaging combos. (Not counting the joke combos)
nah, you don’t need sareena, don’t need deadly vapors. you need cyrax and need to use your air 2 1, and your air ex dive for damage. only use air 1 2 for corner carrying. sub can do 40% midscreen with cyrax no meter. 45% if you spend one bar. same thing in the corner, but if you spend 2 bars you get 50%. if anyone wants to know the combo route i’ll type it out.
His overhead launcher is so slow as well people can react after you start the hit. You have to be a smart sub player to have decent matches. Mileena out here doing 60 percent damage, lui kang 40 percent with 1 bar. Next to impossible for sub to do 40% even with 3 bars. Im halfway up grandmaster and am learning with lui kang in training, Im not good enough for sub to take me past grandmaster.
@@tytrips8475Sub-0's is actually slower. It is 22. His launcher being that slow was the final straw that made me stop maining him. I picked up Smoke. His launcher still may be slow, but I at least don't have to deal with absolutely atrocious damage.
On one hand, I want Clone to be stronger. On the other hand, too many Sub-Zero enjoyers will live and die by the clone (looking at you, Brady!); that needs to stop, and I admit to being spoiled by older entries of the MK franchise letting me get away with safe wake-up ice clones. My other issues with MK1 Bi Han rigt now are the near gimmicky nature of his strings (he's fuzzy blockable on damn near anything he does) and the cumulative damage scaling penalty applied by multiple freeze states within a combo. The penalty should only be applied once per combo sequence to bring his damage output closer to parity with the rest of the cast, and the speed of his overhead string enders could use some tweaks.
Why does it need to stop? Some of us it’s our fav move in the series.. Baiting and settin gn up traps is allot of fun so stop telling people how to play..
Kung Lao is the only viable Kameo at higher rank. The consistence hard to block pressure is more valuable than a little bit of occasional damage and no pressure at all.
If you want to play sub and you use deadly vapors - you have smth wrong with you if you expect damage I use his air launchers and maan damage is always 40 for 1 bar and 1 cameo
I love sub zero in this game but it feels like such an uphill battle for me if people block low and use a lot pokes. Though by no means am i a competitive player i pretty much only play casual games cuz im not a fan of how combat legue plays.
All people complaining about the damage.....but nobody realize that subzero is broken. He doesn't have poor damage, he can't do it because is broken He don't need combos...he is BROKEN and needs to be fixed
Not sure why people keep saying how weak SubZero is, hes one of the most annoying characters to fight for me. People spam his 50/50 mixup, i have to either guess, are they going to do the gay little low kick move, or the overhead, not to mention you can cancel the second low kick to go overhead, its wildly confusing to fight against, and if I guess wrong, there goes 300+ of my health. ill gladly nerf my main Scorpion damage for some damn mixes or atleast make his standing 2 a mid. Scorpion is who needs a buff, he's notoriously the worst character in the game, Sonicfox said so himself. Sure they could buff SubZero's damage some, but i dont get people saying hes so weak, I'm demi-god ranked so i'm slightly above the average player, and him and smoke give me the most trouble by far. I will say, if you do happen to guess correct, he's def one of the easier characters to punish.
He doesn't have 50/50's dude. Its just a skill issue if you can't react to that obvious overhead and you can't "cancel" his low kick into over head anybody who does that with Sub is suicidal because that would never connect unless the opponent is brain dead, and if you think Scorpion is anywhere near as bad as Sub then you are more delusional than most people who say Sub doesn't need help.

As a sub main Maybe he’s not meant for you to spam that same lame sht in one combo over and over. Maybe he’s good how he is and ya just needa spend less meter and stop expecting the most out of a character who has a bunch of overheads and lows 👍🏽 this guy showing off some heat with sub but he spamming the same b.s
Honestly the character is bad but there’s also positives in that bad subzero got tools where other characters don’t I’ve decided to go ahead and main him and found success he’s definitely not a rush down character he’s more defensive and trap basically gotta keep baiting your opponent then getting the optimal damage you need to win

He kinda is unplayable. His damage is low, his pop up is super reactable, and all his moves are unsafe. I had to stop maining him after I got to warrior.
His damage isn’t bad. You have to do optimals to get his true damage so this is like where I feel sareena is what completes him. You have to be able to consistently do b2 into J21 clone or else you won’t be getting combo damage mid screen
I seen this Sub Zero player use scorpion and averaged 38-40% it was really impressive, he made him look good and since then I just dont believe anyone plays him correctly, and for anyone saying his overhead is too slow im pretty sure barakas overhead is slower lol Edit:Anyone saying sareena is more average then her combos🙄
I’m glad scorpions and sub zero isn’t buff or most played because mk 11 was lame with the amount of noobs and scorpions and sub zeros was on there it’s boring (you mad about time to fire but look at rain it’s slow
Lower the music and raise your voice. The music is way too loud in some clips; I can't even hear you. or maybe even remove the music entirely from most of the video; it's very unnessassry and annoying.
