One thing that I greatly appreciate about your channel, Stan, is that you don't put music in your videos, and you aren't talking throughout the whole thing. You say what is needed to be said, interesting or informational, and then you let nature speak for itself. Still my favorite youtube channel! I am excited to see that you have gained more followers now! I hope you continue to grow!

We visited Yellowstone and the Tetons for the first time in July and will be back for an extended period of time hopefully next year to take longer hikes such as these. Your insight and experience is very much appreciated - thank you for taking the time to share your love of nature with all of us!

I've only watched a couple of your videos but I can tell that even though these animals seem to sense your presence they don't react in fear or predation behavior. They might be a little cautious but you know that could all change if you stumble upon a grizzly too close. You are walking a very fine line but doing one heck of a good job at it. You obviously have far more experience than most folks including me. Thanks for sharing

John Mosher ...I too enjoy Stans Videos! He wisely dresses and behaves in agreeable, non-intrusive mannerisms! Firstly he most careful studies, evaluates, & continually exercises situational awareness of the local area & forward destination, always mindful & monitoring multiple concerns! He reads track & trail sign, notes types of animal tracks always looking for Grizzly & Black Bear sign, and reads the all important situational issues! He respects the wilderness life, & moves somewhat like a stalking hunter, always trying not to scare, intimidate, or interfere with anything. Thru his dedicated work, more Yellowstone scenery & marvelous wildlife can be viewed in their native habitat, all along his path or trail!

Great job again! Yellowstone being crowded is somewhat of a myth. You just need to know how to get away from the crowds. 909 subscribers is still way too low for providing such great content! Help the guy out folks!
@somedude9528
@somedude9528 4 года назад
There was a time where big crowds taking up Yelloswtone did indeed happen, even more so than today. That began to peak in the 1940's, when travel had just became easier and more affordable. At some point, however, that began to die down, though the stereotype somehow remains 70 years later.

Hello Stan, another stellar video of the backcountry dripping with wildlife sightings. Questions for you: 1. What is your plan of defense if a grizzly charges you? Only bearspray or more? 2. Do you hike alone or do you have company to video you hiking around occasionally? Or is it just the tripod on auto? 3. How did you get the confidence to hike deep into bear country? Best, H

Great videos. Stan, any chance you do guided hikes. I'll be out there in Jackson Hole & West Yellowstone for 16 days in August 2024. Mostly fly fishing...a few back country hikes would be nice addition. I prefer hiking in peace and quiet, silence is nice, as to a non-stop talking tour guide.

Hell Roaring trail, BUFFALO PLATEAU is one of the most dangerous trails in that area for bears. I wouldn't hike them this fall for any amount of money. this spring or summer you got a 80-20 chance your not going to be accosted. Just 15 miles from there a grizzly attacked two elk hunters and killed one. I think there's a man eater in that area. I've been saying it for two years now. If you have kids or no experience with big bears stay away. Don't be like Stan and hike off trails, he's living on borrowed time, he has given himself a false sense of security thinking these animals dont want to kill him. Stan that pepper spray, it doesn't work on mad bears, they will ignore it while there tearing off your arms to eat you. These animals dont care if your intentions are good, they will kill you. People have lost there respect for these animals power. This summer it will change I been saying it, bear mauling and killings will be unprecedented in the Yellowstone park area. Wait till summer but, by fall it will be unreal. All I can do is repeat my warnings. Stay away from this area, till they fix there predator problems, cause it's NOT just bears, and there not warning folks and being honest about there problems. Did you read about the woman killed by wolves, didn't think so.
@danelobe2524
@danelobe2524 5 лет назад
@@edwardjones9631 nothing to elaborate on its already happening. Read your papers watch the news. Pepole are being attacked by animals in and around the park, more than ussual. But not every story is being printed. Wait till summer/fall going to be a record year for maulings.
@danelobe2524
@danelobe2524 5 лет назад
@@edwardjones9631 I have stated in other videos of his that he has experience with large carnivores. But its easy to get complacenct when your watching them all the time. I live here, been here all my life. Bear attacks never happened untill recently by grizzly's. But my comcern is man eaters. They will hunt you. The park has 1, maybe 2 grizzly's that have mauled people one has killed. It may be the same bear. You run into this bear off trail with a can of bear spray your dead. Park says we killed this bear , Wyoming says we killed this bear, NO neither of you killed the right bear. Its still out there alive with a record of 2 mauled 1 killed. (Or you have 2 bears) I think there 2 different bears. Who right who knows, I just warn people the parks got a problem, animals are way to comfortable around humans. Did you see the muledeer attack a woman last month ? Are you serious a mule deer ? WTF, now we have to add them to the list? Parks getting crazy. You have been warned. All I can do for you. I dont want to read about my man stan mauled or killed in the Gardiner community newsletter, or anyone. Park needs to step up and warn people they have a bear problem.

So far your Carnage summer is a big flop. Get a grip man......if you want to hike in what's left of wild places, there is inherent risk. From wildlife to lightning and rockfall. Your post is hysterical. A lot more people die of dog attacks each year than grizzly. Wolf even less. These places are special because they are there. If it scares someone that much....stick to watching video.
