“It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.” - Warren Buffett
Success Resources Australia Are you saying if you hang around with billionaires you'll become a billionaire ? It's that easy, so all I have to do is find a billionaire.
People better than you also hang out with people better than them so they'll not hang out with you... Even the people they would like to hang out with also hang out with people better than them so they do not hang out with the people you would like to hang out with... And so on... Don't you see the infinite contradiction here? This is what we call "nonsense" ! It's the candy to give to those who aren't in the circle so they cultivate faith toward you for something they imagine possible, but that is unreachable in reality.
These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.
Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.
@@martingiavarini Would you mind telling me how to contact this specific coach using their service? You seem to have the solution, as opposed to the rest of us.
@@hermanramos7092 I really don't like making such recommendations, because everybody's situation is unique. But there are many freelance wealth managers you could check out. I have been working with “Catherine Morrison Evans” for about four years now, and she's really, really good. If she meets your discretion, then you could go ahead with her. I endorse her.
@@martingiavarini Thanks for sharing this. I did my own little research, and your advisor looks advanced and experienced. I wrote her and dialed her twice but she didn't pick up so I scheduled a phone call.
You either need to add a coordinating conjunction between the second to last clause and the last clause or use a period instead of a comma. Also, you could use a semicolon, but you already use one between the first clause and the second; it would be a little strange to see double semicolons in one sentence. While I'm on the topic, why use a semicolon after the first clause? Using parataxis could be beneficial here to improve the rhythm and overall energy of your, instead, lackluster post. The semicolon you use here adds an unnecessary relationship to two ideas that already naturally connect. An economic way of writing is very effective, but it needs to be executed perfectly. There is less to work with, in written discourse, so the mistakes become more blaring. These mistakes include punctuation, which I believe many overlook; you display this oversight in your comment. I recommend purchasing a journal and practicing your writing skills. It'll do wonders for your communicative skills; I'm very serious. Also, reading will help sculpt a foundation for you to rely on. Hemingway would be a perfect addition to your journal writings. Happy I could help! Good luck!
This video is from 1998. Takeaways - Make a list of the people you dis/like and what it is you dis/like about them - "If you tell me who your heroes are, I can tell how you're going to turn out" - WB - "I've turned down business deals, because they were people I didn't want to work with" - WB - "As an act of leadership I created a sense of urgency" - BG - If you find your kid looking up inappropriate websites, you should talk to them about it, not try to block it out - The internet allows for easier offshoring, so education determines salaries more than region.
Bill Gates...said just like I'd expect considering the feds found pizza in his house multiple times, each time a different worker taking the blame and not getting prison time. But yeah just talk to your kids about it, don't stop Gates from sending pics
Thanks for introducing me to Mrs sonia . My first investment with Mrs sonia gave me profit of over $24,000 us dollars and ever since then she has never failed to deliver and I can even say she's the most sincere broker I have known
Fascinating how very different these two men are. Interesting to see Bill's interest in science, and Warren's disinterest. Bill's obvious inability to be excited about dairy Queen, and Warren's ability to see allocating capital to where it will generate profit as highly motivating. Fascinating too how much of Mr Buffet's responding is via rules of thumb that have become intuitions for him: "The chains of habit are to light to be felt until they are too strong to be broken". How Mr Gates, by contrast accesses System II everytime. And expresses his thoughts explicitly as theory. The two men are also similar. Both can think - very very well. Both have rich and deep general knowledge. Both work, hard, and love to work hard. And both are humble, and see all human beings as of equal merit. Be interesting now to enlarge the sample. A fascinating study: We're lucky, now, to be able to learn without enrolling at Wash U. Thanks!
Timothy Bates That’s right. The best lessons in life are not learned at College or University; they are learned through noble observations and hopefully absorbing the good qualities of great people, such as those you have mentioned. Nobody at Uní will teach how to be curious or how to respect others equally.
Warren Bates's neighbour never use to understand what Warren even did to make money lol. Because hed just be on the phone everyday , he'd never leave his house to go anywhere for work. I think he just invested in businesses over the phone, got rich, bought them out and just does that lol. I think?
@Black Cash you belong to the species who believe earth is flat or evolution is wrong your leader trump used to be against vaccines, now is begging for early release of one people like you who spread anti-science conspiracies should be charged as criminals for causing deaths of hundreds due antivax and antimask rumours
I observe that Buffet opens with answering a question they should ask. The answer and by far the best advice, form great habits and be admired for those habits.
| CAME HERE TO LEARN HOW TO INVEST AFTER LISTENING TO A GUY ON RADIO TALK ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF INVESTING AND HOW HE MADE $460,000 IN 4 MONTHS FROM $160k, SOMEHOW THIS VIDEO HAS HELPED SHED LIGHT ON SOME THINGS, BUT I'M STILL CONFUSED, I'M A NEWBIE AND I'M OPEN TO IDEAS.
It is possible to produce superior performance provided you do something different from the majority. However most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
@@lilid5016 Lol no one is a trillionaire 😂 and Arabs are only rich because of royal family wealth. The people in Forbes are self-made and individually ranked.
if someone has been living under a rock for the past 50 years or so and they came to see such big crowd sitting down just to listen to these 2 guys .... then to him, these 2 guys must be extra ordinary person.
People were so real and unpretentious back in those days. I wish we could re live that even for one day. Ironically the talk of improvements of technology has us missing a time when it did not dominate our lives.
I am not necessarily in admiration of the both because they rich but I absolutely falling in love with what they are having in common. They love what they do. If you do just what you absolutely love, nothing cannot be unproductive.
I noticed a contradiction in Buffet's message about success. On the one hand (6:45), he starts off saying that rationality is the key to it, on the other, he and Gates fall into the "enjoy what you do" cliche (12:43). The problem is that rationality/reality does not care about what you enjoy or not. In Bill's and Warren's case, there is no such contradiction, since they both happen to enjoy productive and highly profitable trades. But what if what I enjoy is being part of a suicidal cult? or drinking seawater? Certainly, I would not last very long by making a habit of these destructive predilections. On the bright side, I really liked the "success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get" quote that Buffet drops between these two statements.
@@user-td7xf3gz4l A lot of reasons, but as a summary Warren needs people like Bill to succeed but the reverse is not true. He even donated to Bill's charity foundation, didn't create any himself.
@@pikaso6586 bro Bill has more than 50 percent of his portfolio in Berkshire Hathaway from very early age. Actually Warren Buffet has made more money for Bill Gates.
@@robinsingh5521 Your point is very different : you are comparing how much money Bill made from Warren and how much money Warren has made from Bill. My point is that Bill Gates has had a much greater impact on the world than Warren Buffet and Buffet Warren cannot make money without entrepreunarial innovators like Bill Gates.
Pika So not true, people like warren buffet provide funding and capital for businesses. Without this capital these companies would flop and all the potential impact would be lost.

He says, work for an organization doing something you love. How about, like you, I create my own work. He talks about innovation. Innovation doesn't just happen in the form of products. I, for example, often use forms of marketing that not many others use.
PaulIvanish Wow, it's so great to see my faithful stalker. Paul, while you may think what I say has no value, I get paid for creating value. If you don't believe me, it doesn't really matter, because it doesn't affect me in any way. I'm not going to feel any more invalidated cause Paul throws his sacred statistics at me. People have been doing it since I was a child. The reason so many are failing right now in this country, is because everyone listened to statistics. Frankly, I don't know, and at this point don't care what your personal situation is. You say it doesn't matter, because they are statistics. Well, I'm sure you tell the same thing to every unemployed college grad you know.
Derek Thomas Lirio "Derek", bucko, I don't give a shit about what does and doesn't affect you. I'm here because it is fun disproving your unevidenced points with simple reported facts. You're basically the moron that thinks the world is still at the center of the solar system even when we throw Galileo's observations at him. You're a blind man. You only "see" what is around you without considering that what you "see" is not all there is. You dislike statistics? People "have been doing them" since you were a child? Like those lame magic tricks at kids parties? And you hate them? You don't understand them? Statistics drives you mad? Well I'm not surprised, on account of your utter stupidity and inability to comprehend them. Oh poor "Derek" doesn't get statistics! Doesn't know what it is, what it's for, what it describes, what patterns emerge in the data and how we express them! "Derek" wishes statistics was gone from this earth! So, let's take a walk down that road, shall we? No like statistics, bucko? No problem! "Derek" the king of ass that he is COMMANDS we do away with the branch of mathematics called Statistics! Will do! Oh but now, reality comes down knocking on our door, bucky boy! We have a problem now: This country's workforce behaves in a certain pattern. We want to see that pattern. What do we do, "Derek"? Since we did away with statistics, surely you have a way to give us all a pattern or a truthful and evidenced description of what is happening in this country! Not just "Florida" bucko! Not just your local county in little Miami! ALL of the US's 50 states! We meed to know those trends because knowing is half the battle! We need to make the appropriate policies! Too many factories to be viable doesn't mean we get to make MORE factories in the same sector, for instance. It means the opposite! So, "Derek", tell us! Tell us how to get real, relevant, verified data about all 50 states so that we know what political and socioeconomic moves to make for the future!! Surely a self-asserted genius such as yourself will come up with something better than the data that the US Dept of labor relays to us! Do let us know! Curious minds are eager!
PaulIvanish It completely demolishes anything you've said now, or before, when you express the fact that you have no idea how many states there are in the country that you supposedly know the modern statistics for. I could make an elaborate argument, but you invalidated yourself. Thanks I guess.
I really admire both of these amazing individuals, seriously without these great innovators such as Gates or Jobs from America we would not be watching theses videos on the internet today!!!
I know this one guy who I used to be really close to... He was someone who you could trust, he was creative and inspiring. We were really good friends, and we made plans once to go into business together. After seeing this video... I think I might give him a ring.
