We know from past episodes that a slayer is “called “. It’s a girl who exists in the world and becomes activated when the previous slayer dies. She is granted power. Physical strength. Prophetic dreams. Won’t say more because of spoiler risks

Yep, two slayers now. Great twist that opens up some new story possibilities. Even Giles couldn't beleive there were two slayers now. As we learn about Kendra, we see how very different she is from Buffy. Buffy has friends, her mom and a normal school life. Kendra has none of that and only has her watcher. Buffy even chose to love Angel instead of killing him, which any other slayer certainly would have killed him. Kendra could not understand Buffy's life and thought it was a weakness. Buffy's attachments to the world, her friends and family, are a key strength. We've already seen Xander save her life, and her mother saved her from Spike, so Buffy must be doing something right. This is a key theme of the show - to deal with life's problems, supernatural or otherwise, you need help from your friends and family.

There are a couple of less than stellar episodes coming up, but for the most part, the series is about to get extraordinarily good. One of the best TV shows ever produced, in my opinion.

Got to love the new ones who think they want to see things

So in the original btvs movie it was implied that the Slayer was one girl who kept getting reincarnated, and the watcher was one guy who kept getting reincarnated... But they kind of change that now so it's just a line of different girls and guys over the years.

The show is usually good with its fights, but the one in the church is notorious for the horrible blocking. Where the heck WAS Spike going? Where was everyone?

I wonder why Kendra's watcher didn't contact Giles to let him know Kendra was coming for a visit? Don't these watchers communicate with each other?
