Definitely. Not only that, tonight my local PBS channel is going to air the "Carry It On" Bluffy documentary. PBS is forever bumming for money, so I wonder how they think airing that show could help them. When it comes to the artsy-fartsy world, though, I guess it might be a toss-up. I'm personally hoping PBS gets some backlash for supporting her now in any way.

I dont think she "lied" about anything. It extremlely naive to think that a DNA test such as that used to determine ethnicity is infallable, or nescessary. Also , you cant really know who a person is by examining their liver . Or their DNA. I know very well through documentation that according to the US government, I am an "Indian" or indigeonous though I did not discover this as a fact for myself until I was over the age of 60 with both parents long dead. I grew up in a well educated family of politically active democratic "Irish" Catholics in South Oak Cliff , Dallas Texas. My grandfather was half Indian and born on the reservation. I had no idea. However, like Buffy, I have sufferred horrible abuse as a child though it was from doctors and clergy, and have also been a targetted individual due to my outspokenness on indigeonous matters among other issues. The U S government does not have a good record on honesty, what with allowing bounties of five dollars each to be offerred for the scalps of Indian babies by various states, as well as numerous black flag attacks in which they attacked and murdered their own people and lied about it. It's obvious to me that these attacks against Buffy are partly politically motivated and partly just the same old Bllcrp flung by those who resent strong, beautiful intelligent and accomplished woman. Italian... yeah about as much as I'm Irish. By the way. She was protecting her mother. People should know that in Boston 1941 when Buffy was born, the birth certificates of adopted children were regularly falsified to hide adoption by one or both parents. Birth certificates and DNA tests are not positive proof of anything , really. They are documents that can be faked or mistaken. To me it is readily apparent that Buffy is a real woman and she does NOT really resemble other members of her family much if at all. I saw a picture depicted on that " 5th element " video purported to be Buffy as a child which does not look like her at all. Buffy is an accomplished and talented human woman and we both have a strong connection to this land and very caring hearts. We are not breeds of animal. It is hard to piece together broken families and heritage in the face of the rapacious and hateful violence of the genocidal wars against Indians and Irish . I was once asked my race and ethnicity by audience members after singing a song close to the Plaza in Santa Fe . I truthfully said I was descended from the Irish and the Comanche peoples and they just kinda backed away a bit lol. Go away all you empty headed flibbertigibbits. She speaks for herself very well.

@@andres6868 she certainly darkened it over the years. She has olive skin when in the early days. Very beautiful! And when you look at the photos now, she does look Italian. Someone mentioned under an article I read that she lived in Hawaii for awhile and I think she naturally darkened that way too, but her skin has oranged more recently. Lol

Kinda reminds me of lime'd haole. 😂 (There's a chemical in fresh limes which makes skin tan super fast, and kind of orange-y, so sometimes when tourists accidentally drip lime juice from drinks on their skin, they get these weird tanned blobs which freak them out.) He defrauded his clients, Buffy defrauded 2 countries and more indigenous nations than I can name. I have no skin in the game, I just know her from Sesame Street and my mum's record collection. I remember being a kid and even then thinking, "she doesn't really look like [an Indian]" (as we called them back then). But over the years, I was not a huge fan, but appreciated who she was to the Indigenous community. But she just never exactly convinced me. Of course, we're in an age where you don't question, and especially as a white person--expect fury if you do! So we just kept our mouths shut. Glad to see it wasn't just me that questioned this. And yes, her body language and the choice of words she uses is very odd. So easy since her parents and older brother are now dead. But before that, she was a bit cringey.

As a Canadian, I knew that at some point Canadians were thrilled to have her representing us as a celebrity but because I never liked her voice, I never paid much attention to her.

The Fifth Estate has often stood at odds with Buffy's activism, and the fact that these documents come from the children of the man she's named as her childhood abuser... well, it doesn't make for an impartial case. My own suspicion (and suspicion is all it can be for any of us) is that Buffy's birth records were listed as they were to spare her the "difficulty" of being First Nations - a misguided practice that was not uncommon in those days. In any case, having been officially adopted by a noted Piapot chief makes her his family, whatever her origins. She's lived the life, walked the walk, and done more for her (perhaps adopted) people than most. In my personal opinion, that goes a long way.

She only knows what she was told, and I don't believe she's the kind of person to lie about her genetics for $ or exposure. Why would she need to do that? Some people just go around this world looking to hang others because they are unhappy with their own life. Those folks need to do some introspection and ask themselves why they feel the need to control or condemn others.
