My boyfriend played this song every time we were together… then he was killed in car wreck… I asked him few times but he wouldn’t tell me didn’t want me kissing someone else to this .. someone posted it on my Facebook wall seriously knocked me to my knees 30 years later
У нас в России тоже любят Buffy Sainte-Marie. И эта песня тоже одна из самых моих любимых, как говорят - my favorite song! Очень рад, что мы с Вами слушаем одни и те же песни.
There is a town in north ontario, With dream comfort memory to spare, And in my mind I still need a place to go, All my changes were there. Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless Baby can you hear me now? The chains are locked and tied across the door, Baby, sing with me somehow. Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us. Helpless, helpless, helpless.
Hotel Artimas brought me here Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us
Of all the places for me to be introduced to Buffy St. Marie was Sesame St.!!!! As a 21 yr.old first time mom this voice was amazing also the same year I discovered Rod Stewart! I’m 72 now😌
It was so exciting and surprising to hear tonight this powerful Buffy Sainte-Marie version of the Neil Young classic in the film Hotel Artemis (2018, Drew Pearce) in the emotional high point of the Nurse (Jodie Foster) remembering her son Beau. In the credits as "Buffy St. Marie". Always loved Buffy, always will! ~(;^)~
this woman and her lyrics, spirit ,and devotion has carried me through many hard times and good. piney wood hills became the lulaby that i sang to my children 40 years ago. they still sing or hum it today. thank you Buffy!!!!
If you don't have Shazam and want to know what a song is called on TV, sometimes putting subtitles on will tell you the name of the song playing, that's how I found this after watching Hotel Artemis

This is an object lesson on what you need to make a classic: a simple heartfelt melody, just the right words to evoke pictures in your imagination, a steady backbeat, and a soaring voice which is as elemental as the scenes it brings to life. Buffy is a visionary, a force of nature, and living proof that the culture of the native people of America has survived all the abuse of the colonisers.
Heard this for the first time last night at the end of the final episode of the 1st season of the CBC TV series 'Trickster'. Thought is was pretty good...
I haven't heard a good cover in a while. Double kudos for doing Neil Young. Saw this on hotel Artemis and immediately got the shivers. Excellent job to this chick.
Damn this song made me homesick for my hometown in North Ontario, Haileybury (now Temiskaming Shores), when I was a student at Carleton U in Ottawa in the early 70s.
anyone know the story behind this song? Saw on Hotel Artemis and heard the lyrics about Ontario and was thinking about the room called Niagara in the movie. I'm from st catharines so was really curious.
this woman has a blend of melanie safka, Linda Ronstadt and pat benatar ,--- shes like if linda Ronstadt and pat benatar were native american, and somehow had a kid together lol , = hotness level 10, awesome powerful rock / blues singing voice , too bad she dont have more songs like this,
Thanxs to my stay in "Hotel Artemis" I became aware of this beautiful version of Neil Youngs song (It seems it happened to many visitors in the movie lounge that showed up here and listen to it one more time)

Darn good cover version of one of Neil Young's best songs! If I recall rightly, that's Crazy Horse backing her on this awesome performance! Buffy rules!
