Only just started it but my favourite thing is the characters 1000 percent .

Paper Mario now is just "Can you please SHUT UP and let me play the game" Too much dialog.

@@commentingcommenter1230 of course. honestly I sorta wish that remakes would come before the defined next generation pokemon games (Let's Go doesn't count) so that we could see time be put into the 1st new gen of a system. 1st gens of a new system always look so... outdated.

@@heroicgangster9981 Not a bad idea, more time and money could be put into actual development rather than the story board. Ironically though, I think I prefer Let's Go's graphics over Sword and Shield. Something about the bright colors really appeal to me, whereas the Wild Area can be really dreary (especially in certain weather).

@@commentingcommenter1230 Hmmm honestly for some reason Let's Go seems to have superior lighting and environments to me. Also I really do hope the 3d models could be revitalized sometime like how ATLUS does with their 3d demon models, even if it leads to the new pokemon game still not having all the pokemon. All they have to do is not lie.

Huge brain bug game

on top of fixing the partner issues, it also fixed the writing issues not having anyone to replace vi meant she could actually be given depth as a character and then have the spotlight taken by leif, because leif is the literal best thing since sliced bread and kabbu

@@ConsarnitTokkori the best part for me is how it opens up for different experiences as you said not replacing vi which I could be wrong tells me you probably mostly played the overworld as kabbu or Leif so she seems more like a partner but personally I got mor attached to Vi and used her in most overworld settings and conversations makes the game seem very different just from the character you use the most great design

Playing TOK was like ripping open an old wound, and Bug Fables was like bandages. I will not be giving Nintendo another cent for any future Paper Mario games unless I am 100% sure it is a return to form.

I was hesitant at first too, but it is one of my favorite purchases this year. Although I was a fan of the classic Paper Mario games, and Bug Fables does what Nintendon't.

@@vulblhotdiessfi I decided to grab it not long after Arlo gave a very positive review of the game. They added new stuff since I beat the game, so I need to go back and start a new save file. Maybe with randomized medals or some other modifier.

I think the developers of PM just don't care about making the game good form the interviews iv'e seen they just seem "content" with putting out half decent experiments

Always saw it as it’s more of an issue with Intelligent System than Nintendo, in interviews Miyamoto stated he disliked the Sticker Star style, while with the other one all he asked was for a new addition so it wasn’t exactly like the original two (understandable if it’s supposed to be a sequel), and as more interviews have appeared, it seems it’s more of strict ideals Intelligent System imposes themselves just the same way how NDCube kept refusing to make a Mario Party with the classic style and opted for experimenting on new things, but in the end Sticker Star sold well anyways, and guess so did Origami King, so as long as it sells, Nintendo will not give two hoots whether the old fans are pleased or not, and it’s up to Intelligent System what’ll they do next with the series...IF they want to continue it that is And this change now has an issue where the new Paper Mario games have created a fanbase as well, so if they return back, good for the classic fans, but what happens to the modern fans? AND if they decide to do yet another reinvention of Paper Mario, that’ll be two fanbases they’re letting down while creating a third new one, if they wanna do very new things while also use Mario (maybe for the sake of more sales), they really should just create a new series, they can slap Mario in it (as long as it’s not another platformer) and be fine like what they did with the Rabbids game or just what Mario & Luigi did, another RPG series created after Paper Mario that also used the Mario characters and some Paper Mario/Super Mario RPG elements, but still marking themselves as something else altogether while respecting the other RPG, instead of...you know, taking over an already existing series, wreck most of the foundation of what used to be there, and act as if they didn’t do anything bad or there’s nothing wrong

This is perhaps the closest we’ll get to TTYD 2. We even have the same badge jankness that lets you do 30 damage per hit if you put your character in literal pain!

Same, I started a couple weeks ago and I can't stop playing. The only experience I've had with PM was beating the original a couple times when I was a kid. I wish I jumped on the bandwagon the moment it came out!

Yeah, I feel like a lot of spritiual successors often tend to just be "this game you loved back in the day but now in a modern context" and while I get why that's fine with some people, a lot of these games just end up coming out worse or not doing enough to warrant bringing it back. This is one of maybe 3 or 4 games that I feel takes what was established and expands on it in such a way that I could honestly see myself preferring this game to Paper Mario.

Bug Fables is one of the best gaming purchases I've made all year. If you like TTYD you will probably like it too. I do wish it had something like Star Power though.
