@hharte901101 yes its a front engined setup from a Suzuki swift 1.0 thats the 3 cylinder unit with the stock 5 speed box, the gear change was a nightmare to work out but its sweet now!!
I use tape to hold parts together prior to welding that way I can check it fits before spending a lot of time and effort welding and smoothing the part, makes total sense to me! - What do you use then?
@MrYeayeayeayeayeayea If they finish it in 3 weeks its an almost ready to run buggy with very little to do and a lot of pre made parts are used - this buggy was designed to be (and has been) hand fabricated with only normal metal working tools - no specialist parts have been purchased they have all been hand made, granted this did mean it took a long time to design and has taken 18months to build this prototype - but the next one to be built will be done very quickly :)
Gollam0796 - thanks for the comments, sorry to hear about the transmission! :( And Yeah that can does look good in place :) you need to get its matching one fitted :)
@MrYeayeayeayeayeayea Its taking a long time as I want it to be spot on - and its a hobby not a day job! - Trust me it will be worth it and when its finished the plans will be available for others to build one!
I was wondering. Is that a front wheel engine setup you are using? I also had the idea to do that but the prob with the gear change halted me. sweet build tho.
Hi Dennis, I am making major modifications to the buggy at the moment but may produce the plans for the new version (converted from Suzuki power to VW / Audi power) - will publish a new video soon covering the changes!
This is awesome. Grateful if you can be able to post the construction details. Im very impressed. I live in the islands, Particularly The Solomons but how can I get your contact details. I'd like to learn from your engineering skills.
Hi Simon, many thanks for the comment and subscribing - this buggy is my hobby (not an engineer by trade) - this is the second buggy I have built but the first one with really well defined designs, all my skills were picked up on the job so to speak, I would suggest starting smaller and working your way up to this size (At least thats what I did ) and take your time with the design (And do it in some design software so that you can see all the parts operating prior to building anything, take a look at the buggies website as there are over 600 build photos and construction stories (contact details are on the site too)
