taafo3, thanks for sharing. These tips are worth a fortune. The car companies will never show you all this.. rather they'd have one pay full price for a new seat if even available and if not have you buy a whole new car! Good skills dude!

I watched your video a couple times and then tore into mine. I ordered some gears online from a gentleman who sales them. My seats are now built to last with brass gears instead of those crappy plastic factory gears. It was actually pretty easy job. I would recommend not cutting bolts off but rather pull pin and rivots from both connecting ends. Good luck and thanks for your video.

Have a 2000 Park Ave. with a similar problem like everybody else with a seat. Mine is the driver side. How did you get the seat out of the car? I know about the hooks in the slots, just how did you manage it? Did you do it by yourself?

Yes, the brass gears are a great idea. I just didn't want to deal with them so I replaced the entire motor, shaft, and nut. It came out to about the same price and I have had no problems with the motors that I put in(with plastic gears).

Question, I recently bought a 2001 buick century and the drivers seat is pretty much worn out its pretty much sunked so I need to replace it, is it the same bolt on like on your buick?

Hi I know it’s been 7 years since you made the video, but if you could answer my question it would help a ton. I have a second car that I use for parts and from what I could pick up it’s the white gear on the shaft that starts to break. Any tips on how I could take the shaft out of one car and replace it with the other thanks for the help.

You should disconnect the car battery (negative terminal) before you disconnect the ABS wire.

Cutting the frame is potentially dangerous in a crash. It would have been easier to buy a junked seat and use it or swap out the parts. Kudos for re-engineering your seat motors but 99% of people couldn't do this.

Id love to get some more info on where to get the parts.. I have had no luck finding the items needed to fix the motor problem. Could you get back to me?
