You are so underrated. I can’t believe how good you explained everything really! Other videos cant compare with yours! Thank you for helping how to build my first drone❤
Thank you very much for your support and kind words. This kind of comments and appreciation keeps me doing this, because i see that i can help others and this motivates me a lot ☺️. Stay tuned, i have more more builds coming soon 💪
Hello my friend. What you mean exactly? Step by step and it will be, i love building drones and diy projects in general and eventually it will be reflected in the number of the subscribers if i keep doing it, and i will keep doing it because it is a passion first of all 😊
@@dirtypeach i don’t understand what you are saying! You mean the longer one? I used the shorter one because i don’t like to see wires all over the place
I like how you spoke about the tools. Not many, if any, that talk about the tools. I've been wondering which to get or what's needed. I like to make sure to have the right tools before starting projects. Especially like this. Also good to include that in the budget.
Hi my friend, i talk about them because you need them to do the job, now some of them are sponsored tools and are expensive, but if you do this a lot they worth the cost, if not then there are some cheaper alternatives 😊!
Hello. I know! And normally you won’t have any problems at all, but my friend had a problem with the o3 turning into complete black, even if the bec was powerful enough, not with the this FC! I wanted to be extra sure, so i baby proofed this one 😅, but i am not doing it anymore unless it is absolutely mandatory, with some older units … but you are absolutely right, thanks for the valuable info 🤟
Great video , can I ask where you got those large instruction sheets? I will be building my first drone the Mario five shortly, but your video is very instructive to learn from.
Thanks David for your support and kind words ! this is what keeps me doing these videos 😊. If you need help with your build please feel free to reach out to me on instagram : bilu.media! Good luck with your build :)
It is my pleasure, i am really happy that i could help you. What do you need? What kind of flight characteristics do you want? Exactly in this moment i am heading to the woods to film another build tutorial in the nature 😅. I am transforming actually my foxeer foxwhoop 25 drone intor an O3 drone, this was my first drone and i love it, of course it is easier to build a drone using a frame that is ready for the O3 as this one is not, but i love challenges and creativity and diy projects 😁! So tell me what you need and lets do it ! I am waiting for aos 7 ul frame that is stuck a little bit on the customs, but this is my next project, i have all the parts ready for it … Lets connect in instagram, maybe you can film your drone and flying, i am curious how it turned out 💪 Congratulations on your first build 👏😊
Slim chances you would see this but can you tell me things like the top speed this bud will reach or max flight time or anything newer that would be a better pick for any part for this build/budget? I love that its O3
@lenixxq hello my friend, I didn't use GPS after all on this drone, so I can't tell you for sure, but I guess something around 140km/h and about 5 minutes of flight time in general, I would pick the new SpeedyBee Mario 5 frame over this and for the parts Speedybee F405, you can contact me on Instagram and I can give you the links : bilu.media 😊
Hi, great video, I’m assembling the same drone and I also wanted to get my esc facing forward and my fc facing backwards for the O3 unit but the cable is too small, where did u get a longer cable?
Hi, thank you very much! yeah the original cable is too short for this frame, here is the cable that I used : bit.ly/3FG6jmy, the V2 frame I understood that is a little shorter and doens't need this cable, but I am not entirely sure!
Man are you using the goggles 2 ? did you figure out your osd?? I am struggling the second day trying to figure out the OSD. I have the Uart 4 for msp in the ports and still have no osd. Can you help please?
Im currently building this.. little by little. I bought the V2 version. Very nice drone. I will have to buy a different GPS mount as it comes with a 181 mount and i bought the 880 gps. The V2 already comes with the GoPro mount in the box.
@@andreikaliachka279 I am not using the DJI O3 unit.. I am building it with a Foxeer Trex Micro camera, and a Foxeer Extreme 2.5w VTX. DJI system is too expensive for me right now.
@@andreikaliachka279 the o3 is short by default, in the video i changed it to a longer one ! So you need to change it unfortunately, becarefull how you take the cable out, i damaged the connection a little bit and i had to open the camera again, in the camera you have at the end of the connection a little mechanism that clicks, this one you have to pull out carefully 💪
@@bilumedia yeah I have a 3d printer. I will have to create a custom rear end for it.. because I purchased the RP3 receiver that comes with 2 antennas and the default yellow TPU piece it comes with is for only one antenna.. the receiver TPU part is also interfering with the mmcx antenna connector of the VTX and I did not notice and selected the 181 GPS when I checked out the order and I had purchased the 880 GPS which is way bigger. So I'll have to redesign that rear end.
Sure you can do that! At some point if you see in the video I removed 4 wires from the cable that connects the dji air unit to the flight controller. The red and black are for powering the unit and the other 2 are actually for the sbus, so they are for using the dji rc2, and of course you will not need to solder the external elrs reciever as I did 😉
First of all, thanks so much for your video. It help me a lot. I have a question about motor, in speedybee website say it use 2306 1900kv but you use 2207 1750kv. Will it impact to performance? I cannot find 2306 motor here but 2207 are available so I wonder can I use 2207 instead. Thanks so much.
Hello, you are very welcome! Happy to help 😊 2306 is more for “cinematic” flight and 2207 is more for free style flight! But you wont feel the difference at all! You can use freely 2207 but be sure to be 6s, 1750 is 6s and 1950 is 6s too but it is a little bit less powerful bit not by much! So you are safe with 2207 👍
Hi all! All worked during testing. But stoped (see no reason why) Might be somebody in south California can help me with my problem ? Will be highly appreciated
Hi i recently purchased master 5 v2 frame, but as per manual i fixed front arm on forward facing of drone but i cant able to see holes 7:29. Forwad facing has long arm right.
Hi, maybe the v2 frame has different mounting? Or maybe it has a defect! You can send me a picture of what you mean on instagram so i can see what is the solution for this. Bilu.media
Hello. So Thank You so much for this video. I just finished my master 5 build using your video. I have one issue. I can’t get sat lock!!! Are you having this issue. I’m using the bz-181 gps.
Hi my friend, my pleasure :) Did you make the necessary settings for the GPS in BF? I didn't show all the steps here, you have to select the GPS from the configuration tab in BF and in the ports tab you have to select GPS for the UART that you are using for that GPS! and after that you have to go to the Fail Safe tab and define how you want your drone to behave when it enter a fail safe situation ! I ended up not using the GPS because I don't fly so far with it, I am building a 7 inch drone and it has GPS! and there is a trick to get satellie lock faster, you have to wrap the gps wire in cupper foil and attach a black wire to that foil and connected to the ground wire together from the GPS, but make sure to wrap that coil afte intor a cloth tape or an electrical tape because it is conductive!tell me if you figure it out please
@@bilumedia Thank You for the reply. I have narrowed it down to ELRS interference. I move the GPS away from the ELRS receiver and antenna that are both sitting in the back and inside my house I get 18 sat locked! I tested it out with the gps zip tied to the front of the quad and I had 23 sat locked. So it’s definitely something to do with the ELRS antenna or RX.
Building v2 of this frame up right now with an 03air i took off a bnf quad where it was mointed in tpu.. i saw you had a metal bracket to screw it down (this would be ideal with the new heatsink)..where did that come from please. Great tutorial helped me out getting back into building after a 7 year break
really happy that my vide helped you get back into building FPV 🥰! the heat sink is from the frame itself, there are a lot of heatsink for the o3 air unit in the market, some of them are generic and some specific a particular frame... for example the SpeedyBee Mario 5 that I will build soon on the channel has a Pro version with a very nice heatsink and it protects also the Air unit, you can check it here : bit.ly/42Bu2PD
Hi, my pleasure 😊 ! Do you use flux? It helps a lot and the solder sticks very good and it never peels! Maybe your solder is not good too! I use 63/37 solder! So it should not peel at all, be careful because if it peels so easy you will loose your feed in your goggles and the crash is inevitable!
I've watched so many drone tutorials for my first fpv build and a several for just the speedy bee master build and omg you are so much better at explaining things and you dont leave stuff out. Little details like the capacitor direction that no ever drone videos mentioned... and yes i should i guess have known that but didnt as a first time builder. I'm glad I found your video before I finished my build but I'm a little late and need to somehow undo this capacitor from my ECU =/ any advice?
Thank you very much for tour kind words, I really appreciate what you said and I am very happy that i could help you 😊! I don’t understand what you did exactly with the capacitor! You put it in the wrong direction? I mean the minus on the plus? You can make a picture and send me on instagram so i can see and try to help you ! Bilu.media
You mean the lipo batteries? I have a lot of them: Cnhl 1400 Cnhl 1050 Iflight 1400 Gnb 1500 Gnb 1300 Gnb 1100 Gnb 4000 li-ion All of them are 6s for this drone 😊
and im new to this build (and diy itself), I believe there are no capacitors in the frame box. I should buy it separately ? or it will come with batteries?@@bilumedia
@@andreikaliachka279 the capacitor comes usually with the stack(fc +esc), did you buy the stack or not yet? The speedybee stack comes with bigger capacitor, but be careful, don’t cut the legs of the capacitor short because you will have problems, actually the new frame doesn’t have a battery plug, right? If not then it is not a problem because the wires will not take all the place and you will have space to wire the capacitor, but put them first and see where they sit and after solder them, and be careful the capacitor to not touch the frame, it can make a short!
@@andreikaliachka279 😂 yeah it is a lot of fun, i love building drones, i want to transform my foxeer foxwhoop into an o3 drone and it is not made for this, it is challenging and i love this because i have to cut things to design tpu parts and it is a lot of fun, and a 7 inch drone is coming too, i am waiting for the frame, and i rebuilt my flywoo 2.0 drone woth a happy model mobula 8 😃, the video will come soon 💪
Do you fixs these drones? Because I have one that a friend gave me and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I would like to try to fly it. If you can get back to me thank you.
Hi, it is the V1 frame, but it is applicable to the V2 as well. I had a lot of people contacting me and the followed these steps, but for the V2 frame. Small differences is there of course 😊
Thanks my friend, actually it has :), i just measured the holes where is my O3 mounted and there are 30x30 holes too, you can see it here too :ru-vid.comlQhKrGesv-U , if you want me to measure or check anything for you, just say 👍
@@Daniel_SWE I am really happy that I could help you in some way 😊. This is why I did this channel, to connect with people and help them with what I can, because we are people and we should help each other not the other way around 💪
this video was very helpful thank you so much i have couple questions this will be my first quad i have dji rc2 but.. is elrs better? should i sell my rc2 and get a new remote for elrs? SpeedyBee F7 V3 looks expensive... can i use cheaper stack for example SpeedyBee F405 V4?
You are very welcome :), did you build the drone or not yet? let's speak on instagram : bilu.media, we can talk easier and I can help you with all what you need 😊
Hi my friend, you have to go the Receiver tab and select SBUS instead of CRSF because this is the correct protocol for the DJI RC2 and I hope you didn't cut the brown and yellow wires from the DJI air unit cable 😁 because they are for the comunication between the RC and the receiver on the air unit! tell me if that worked!
Hello, I just finished this build. I'm at the step that I get all beeps properly. But when I disconnect the battery the vifly finder buzzer doesn't beep. Could it be that in needs to be charged somehow? Thanks.
Hi. So when you plug the battery it beeps, right? If this is the case then the unit is working, but when unplug it it doesn’t beep at all, this means that the battery is empty! It should work directly out of the box. I would fly a little bit, try at least 5 batteries and see after if something happens!
Hi, mine is 14 cm, i am not sure how you measure it, i measured it from the back of the camera to the back of the air unit, so didn’t consider the parts that are in the units! But you can ask speedybee and they will tell you which one to use…
Hello Bilu, I follow your channel, I am a writer. I live in Brazil, presenting a lot with your videos. I'm building a drone of this model. Please clear my doubts. What is the reference of this GPS?
Hello my friend, thank you very much 😊, what you mean by the reference of the GPS? It is the iflight m8q-5883, but i recommend to use the new m10 gps instead of this one, iflight has it and few others too!
Is the battery strap included in the frame kit or did you buy it separately? If you bought it separately, what size is it? I bought this frame and I can not see this in the kit frame BOM list
Hello my friend. The strap comes with the frame, actually i think you get 2 straps! If you didn’t get it, please contact SpeedyBee and they will send you the straps 👍, the strap size is 250mm
@@bilumedia Thank you very much for the prompt reply. The frame kit is on its way, I just checked the materials list included in the kit and I didn't see the straps, it's good to know that they are included. Thank you so much.
Hi! A question: I've built the same frame with the same stack (I haven't seen your video before I've put it all together. Unfortunately, it would save me a lot of time :)) But the stack mounting bolts are too long, so they protrude from the bottom. Seems stable, though... Was it the same case for you?
Hi. You mean the screws are too long and there is a part remaining on top? If that is the case then yes, but under the esc i put another rubber grommet, but it is small ! You can send me a picture on instagram so is see what you mean : bilu.media
What GPS module did you use? I couldn't find it in the parts list. I think DJI fixed the short camera wire issue. Mine seems to be long enough. I cringe at the thought of having to take the air unit apart. I don't even want to remove the screws to mount it.
@bilumedia the included mounting box that you used for the older gps is 18*18*8mm and the iflight m10 is 25*25*11mm. So I would have to figure out some kind of custom way to mount it?
how much flight time did you ger on this ? and will 2306 1700kv increase flight time ? also what will be the consequences of using higher milliamp battery? also what will be the results of using lower pitch props? plz reply
yes it is, but it should have the ELRS module not the 4 in 1! You can additional module after, but it is better to have the ELRS from the beginning internally !
Hello, be careful, i lost one drone because of the strap! I recommend you to use any strap that has sticky pad on it and the battery bad on the drone as well, started changing all my pads because the battery got loose on one of my drones and the drone fell 🤷♂️
@@bilumedia it’s ok brother you’re coverage is insane !!! I will be getting this quad end of month. I just got a speedy bee f7 AIO and the dji port is inoperative and won’t pick up VTX on beta flight nor speedybee app :(
Thank you very much 😊! I just took a look at your AIO and it seems that DJI should be configured on UART 6, did you configure it like this? You can give me a picture of your ports on Instagram: bilu.media. Let's solve the issue and get you in the air 💪😀
