It doesn't matter what you call it: light tent, light cube, light box, macro photo studio, or a mini photo studio... with some cheap supplies, a hobby knife, and a couple of lamps, you can get your DIY on and make some gorgeous photos!
Soft glowing surfaces, sharp details, warm tone, all thanks to the miracle of diffusion. We show you how to build one, why diffused light looks so good, and show you how it works.
Whether it's art or just snaps of collectibles you're gonna sell on e-bay, a low cost light box can make a major difference!

Used parchment (baking) paper, instead of tissue paper. It's a bit more durable & works great! Thanks for the great tutorial DIY Tryin' dudes!

Very helpful! I especially like the way you made the thing foldable by leaving a gap between the boards. That's great for those of us in small spaces.

This was SOOOO helpful to my event planning business! I doubt either of you sew clothes very much but sewing interfacting available at any fabric store or even Wal Mart is a great more durable alternative to the tissue paper. Thanks for the video!

Love the video. Huge fan of the light box, but I am even more astonished at the fact that I've never thought to clip my lights to a piece of wood before. That makes the perfect base to move it around when there isn't something close to clip it on. Genius!

here's a tip for everybody the parts you cut out you can make another photo box then another and another etc. you will end up with a lot of different sizes even ones for macro photography and they will store in each other. One more tip before I go put a sheet of tissue paper on the front with a hole for the lens so it will diffuse all light no matter where it's coming from.

In another video she used interfacing fabric instead of tissue paper. I have made this before but the tissue paper ripped during a move. If I was making it again I might try the interfacing for sturdiness and also thought of using Velcro to use for different background colors. Could also just buy the nylon material at the fabric store. Not sure why she didn't just do that.

Hi, I have been trying to photograph some jewelry that my wife has made but I couldn't figure out why it all looked so bland especially when using a flash and it was not much better when using sun light and it was all blurred without a flash.
