I just had my mailbox plowed over about 2 weeks ago, I've already got the blocks at home, just need to other supplies.....thanks for the video....smooove like butta!
I just had the same thing happen again, too! So I am doing concrete blocks with quikrete poured into the holes. I am so done with wood posts and the next time, when one of our local idiots hits it, he may not be able to drive his car away. Thanks for the video! It looks nice. Mine always have reflective tape on them but it doesn't seem to help. I hope your reflectors do the trick.
My letter box was run over 3 times in 2 years. Im currently using these same cement blocks to do myself a new one though have designed it completely differently to this and Im going to be covering mine in little pebbles
i had to buildvof had the same persone hit mine 2 times the 3rd time a tow truck was called i used a 16in 3/4 thick pice of pipe it was 10foot long 5 1/5 foot of it was put in the ground and concreated the for the box its self i cut a hole in the pipe and put the mail bock in it and painted it all yellow when he hit it all it did was buff the paint costed him 2k in damg and me a weeked worth of work
Sounds deliberate....how many of us hit a mailbox...and 2 times in the same neighborhood?...what an a$$ of a neighbor.....bet they never did that again....lol...priceless!
Thinking of something like this... mine was brick and got hit by a car that had a blow out (lasted 20 yrs.)!! Sadly they didn't have to pay for it for whatever reason... Any ways I'm really thinking of cinder blocks and doing a mosaic after I get it set!! I have cement already (no grass) so I won't use rebar I'll let y'all know how it turns out :)
Sorry..it's frustrating! Also did mosaic. Unfortunately don't know how to show a picture. I just found some interesting dishes broke them up, and mortered them on..easier than I thought, but def. A project for cooler weather..also incorporate some reflectors..for evening visibility. Good luck!
@@TheBethy65 Use cement ant it cant get knocked down easy. mortar is brittle and a car can break it easy. cement will get damaged from a car hit, but not so much.
nice, but the post office frowns on a mailbox that does not give away if a car hits it! just a FYI (because damage done to the car or to the people inside is a liability) but your design is very nice
