Love that you added in the mistakes- we all make them- and great to see others can also- and that its never the end of the world when they are made. Always wanted a firepit/ pergola- and never thought of a swing. What an amazing idea. Cannot wait to start working on this project in the coming spring!
Looks really nice, dude. I like the way you built the seat, but I would worry about the expansion/contraction cycles with it being so tight and sitting outside. Maybe that's just me being anxious, though. Fantastic work on everything. You're inspiring.
Well, the main reason I made it so tight is because it’s pressure treated and I know that over a little bit of time it dries out and shrinks down some. Even in heat we have had when you normally have things expanding, it still has already contracted, giving slight gaps. Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it!
wow awesome project man....love the curve on the swing idea, maybe I'll implement that in my bench project. I'll be implementing that duct idea from "How to Home" aswell in my fire pit project this Thanksgiving day.
Just found your channel, saw the firepit/patio build and then the swing build 😃 I like your videos so far and I see forward to more 😃 You just got a fan from Denmark, keep up the good work 😉💪
Yes I do plan on adding a cedar looking stain after the wood has dried out pretty good. Obviously the 6x6’s are most expensive. I think lumber price has come down since I made the pergola part so it’s kind of hard to tell but with pergola and everything into the swing it was probably under $200 or so.
@@IsaacLop2011 searching Facebook marketplace. I got ring insert cheaper. Also happen to get pavers for free. Main thing I paid full price for was cement, rock, sand etc. The whole entire project probably has under $350 or so into it.
Oh, and by the way, if you ever finish your "Hunny Do" list there, I'm sure that my husband (age 75) would be very excited to have a bit of help around the house.
10ft total length, approximately 2 feet in the ground, so I left about 8 foot above ground minus the space taken from the pavers and material underneath.
No actually I don’t, but I also didn’t pay full store price for any of it. It was all either from marketplace or the Facebook page Milwaukee Tool Deals. I actually left a job at the end of last year where I did a variety of trade work repairing and rebuilding large restroom trailers which I did carpentry, metal fabrication, electrical, and plumbing. Now I am doing more of the job I have wanted to do and that’s being a filmaker/editor, but I still definitely enjoy doing the trade type work.
