Simple water control structures for waterfowl impoundments. No flashboard risers needed! Controlling water levels is critical to properly managing waterfowl habitat.
Natural duck food, moist soil habitat and cultivated crops all benefit from some degree of control water levels. And, the ability to drain your duck holes allows you to more easily remove undesirable trees and other vegetation.

Glad you enjoyed it. I will definitely do my best to get some more stuff posted. The season started yesterday so we've shifted from working to shooting!

Appreciate you showing off your set up. So is that last area you showed the pipe running into a natural dip or are you relying on beavers to keep the water when it runs through the pipe/ditch?

Thanks Robert, I'm glad you enjoyed it. In that area, it is a little of both. Right now, the creek is high enough to put some water in there but not fill it up. In the past the creek has been higher and that is all I need. So, now I have to pump water out of the creek to fill it up. As far as what is holding the water in, the beavers built a small damn there many years ago and last season when the creek was higher, started adding to it which worked out great for me. So, I am taking advantage of their damn and just ran my pipe through it. To hold water in, I simply lift the downhill side of the pipe up and wire it to a tree. Then I let it down when I want it to drain. I do the same at the inflow side to let water in or hold it back. I've got a couple videos posted on irrigating the whole that show it in a little more detail. Also, I am working on a video that show a bit more about how I pump water in when needed. Bruce
