Build a WordPress Travel Blog with Astra Theme 2023 

Hey Alex: I am about to begin watching your video. Several reasons: 1) I like the other comments I am seeing. 2) I have watched more videos and tutorials than I can count in the last several months using native WP; Elementor; Astra; Hello; Blocksy and a few others. Every time I ran into at least one snag and started all over. 3) Your intro was perfect. Told me exactly what you were going to do and how; Free parts and fee parts; and your voice and presentation are just right. I want primarily a BLOG with a lot of posts in several categories, a customized header and footer, different pages that feature certain blog categories and until I get going - all FREE. Sounds like a fit - I will let you know later. Thanks Brewster

THANK YOU for this very thorough tutorial. I was incredibly frustrated as I tried to set up a new blog using wordpress. Nothing was intuitive. And then I found this video and it made so much sense. Thanks for taking the time to create this for us newbies!!!

Awesome theme Astra is. I created one of my websites with it. but for my second website, I decided to use Deep theme as it was cheaper and had the same functionalities. Both of them are great choices. Thank you for the video.

What do you think about destination pages? Itineraries ?

Hi ALEX. managed to follow you all the way this time. One thing I don't see. When you build out the home page, you have blocks that say for example "We Love to Travel" with a button. I got the button as well but where is to take you? I was assuming it would jump to a static page - which is what I want but I see no way to update the links for those buttons . The default just has my website name with no way to alter it. Any ideas? Thanks. Brewster

Previous problem. I missed you clicking on the new website "front end" name beside the Wordpress logo. You said to click on Home and I have not heard that link referred to a Home. Once I clicked on my site name we were in synch. Thanks

When I add the blog grid, the images don't appear as shown in the tutorial. Could you tell me why?? Thank you

Hey Alex. I was able to follow you click for click until about 12 minutes when you finish building the black header. Mine looks the same but I THINK we are using the Theme (Astra) customizer header builder at that point. After setting it to Full Width, you click PUBLISH (so do I) then you say "Let's close this" and click the "X" in the upper left of Header Builder. Then YOU show a full width Home screen - not sure if this is your front or back end. Mine immediately displays the WP dashboard again with the Dashboard panel open. There are 3 columns and each says "Add boxes from the screen options menu". My admin bar shows WP logo, Home logo with my site name, Comments, + New, and Caching. There is NO Customize and no Edit page like yours. This is a problem since in your next lesson you show us your designed 1st Home section with the canoe, island, transparent header etc. Once you drag this away again we see your full width Home page but I do not. So already I can't follow you because you immediately click on the EDIT in the admin bar and I don't have it. What could be wrong with my setup so far? I am using FREE Astra and Spectra. Is this a factor?
