This is different then most other "make it" videos in one large aspect. With a lot of them, viewers can watch it and think to themselves "I could make that!" (and than never actually do). With this, right up front and all throughout you're demonstrating skills that _very_ few audience members could hope to match! Great job!
Matt Johnston thanks! But I’m just some dork in his garage like everyone else. No special training or anything. Everything I know I learned right in the shop by messing around and experimenting.
TabLeft Workshop I had _some_ formal training, but most of my skills are self learned as well. That doesn't make a skill less impressive, and we all know that everybody's skill level is different. I think you've demonstrated that yours is quite a bit higher than most others!
You showed great patience, as well as your mistakes. I admire that as much as your skill with your project. Pity you have not given some of us the chance to give it a try ourselves with a drawing.
Dude! My husband opens his knife like that too! Awesome build. I think I'm going to try. I have a commissioned piece for a 2-tiered jewelry box and I've never worked in circles. This will be a great challenge. Thanks for posting! And thanks for posting in real time when it counts. I love fast-forward videos, but sometimes it's too fast. Okay, cheating a bit with the CNC because most of use will have to do it by hand, but I get it. Question: Why the leather when sanding?
I made this along side of several other gifts this year during the week before Christmas in total I made a necklace and bracelet (~10+ hours of wire weaving) and accompanying jewelry box, 8 hand made leather paddle strop kits with custom bags etc. and this jewelry box but I don’t have the actual time break down for each one.
TabLeft Workshop sounds a little like my pre Christmas week, last minute panicking to complete gifts. I will be more prepared this year. Don't hold me to the last statement though 😂😂😂
